**1.** وَثِقْتُ بِرَبٍّ جَادَ لِـــــي بِاللَّطَائِــــفِ / وَبِالْمُصْطَفَى الْمُخْتَارِ عَيْنِ الْمَعَارِفِ

_Wa thiqtu bi-rabbin jāda lī bi-l-laṭā’ifi / Wa bi-l-muṣṭafā al-mukhtāri ‘ayni al-ma‘ārifi_

I have trusted in a Lord who has been generous to me with His subtleties, and in the Chosen One, the Elect, the very source of all gnosis.

**2.** شُؤُونِي رَفَعْتُ الْكُــــلَّ لِلَّهِ سَيِّـــدِي / وَوَاسِطَتِي الْمَحْمُودُ بَابُ اللَّطَائِفِ

_Shu’ūnī rafa‘tu al-kulla lillāhi sayyidī / Wa wāsiṭatī al-maḥmūdu bābu al-laṭā’ifi_

I have raised all my affairs to Allah, my Master, and my intermediary is the Praiseworthy One, the gate to all divine favors.

**3.** لَئِنْ شَطَّ عَنِّي بِالْأَمِيــنُ مَـــزَارُهُ / فَمَشْهَدُهُ فِي الْقَلْبِ لَيْسَ بِصَارِفِ

_La’in shaṭṭa ‘annī  bil-amīnu mazāruhu / Fa-mashhaduhu fī al-qalbi laysa bi-ṣārifi_

Even if the physical shrine of this Trustworthy one is far from me, the witnessing of him in the heart never departs.

**4.** حَبِيبُ إِلَهِ الْعَرْشِ قِدْمًـــا أُحِبُّــهُ / وَأَذْكُرُهُ يَوْمِي وَأَمْسِي وَآنِفِي

_Ḥabību ilāhi al-‘arshi qidman uḥibbuhu / Wa adhkuruhu yawmī wa amsī wa ānifī_

He is the Beloved of the Lord of the Throne; I have loved him since eternity, and I mention him in my day, my yesterday, and my every moment.

**5.** حَبِيبٌ خَلِيلٌ خَاتِــــمٌ وَمُقَــــدَّمٌ / كَرِيمٌ عَظِيمٌ خُلْقُهُ عِنْدَ عَارِفِ

_Ḥabībun khalīlun khātimun wa muqaddamun / Karīmun ‘aẓīmun khuluquhu ‘inda ‘ārifī_

A beloved, an intimate friend, a seal, and one who is foremost, noble and magnificent; his character is beyond measure to the gnostic.

**6.** بَشِيرٌ نَذِيرٌ عَاقِـــــــبٌ وَثَنَــــاؤُهُ / بِهِ جَاءَنَا الْفُرْقَانُ بَعْدَ الصَّحَائِفِ

_Bashīrun nadhīrun ‘āqibun wa thanā’uhu / Bihi jā’anā al-furqānu ba‘da al-ṣaḥā’ifi_

A bringer of glad tidings, a warner, a final successor; and through his praise, the Criterion (Quran) came to us after the ancient scrolls.

**7.** حَلَفْتُ يَمِينًا إِنَّهُ الدَّهْرَ مُفْرَدٌ / فَلاَ يَتَأَتَّى أَنْ يُثَنَّى بِطَارِفِ

_Ḥalaftu yamīnan innahu al-dahra mufradun / Fa-lā yata’attā an yuthannā bi-ṭārifī_

I have sworn an oath that he is unique throughout time, and it is impossible for him to have a second or an equal.

**8.** وَإِنَّ لِكُــــــلِّ الْأَنْبِيَــــاءِ خَوَارِقًـــا / مِنَ الْمُصْطَفَى قَدْ حَازَهَا كُلُّ خَارِفِ

_Wa inna li-kulli al-anbiyā’i khawāriqan / Min al-muṣṭafā qad ḥāzaha kullu khārifī_

Whatever miracles the other Prophets possessed, they were but fragments of the Chosen One that they acquired.

**9.** وَهُمْ كُلُّهُمْ غُرٌّ سَــــــرَاةٌ أَجِلَّــــةٌ / وَمَا كَابْنِ عَبْدِ اللّٰهِ عِنْدَ الطَّوَائِفِ

_Wa hum kulluhum ghurrun sarātun ajillatun / Wa mā ka-ibni ‘Abdi-llāhi ‘inda al-ṭawā’ifi_

All of them are radiant, noble, and illustrious leaders, but none among the nations is like the son of Abdullah.

**10.** فَمُوسَى وَإِبْرَاهِيمُ مَعْ نَجْلِ مَرْيَمٍ / لَهُمْ رُتْبَةٌ وَالْكُلُّ أَمْـنٌ لِخَائِــــفِ

_Fa-Mūsā wa Ibrāhīmu ma‘a najli Maryama / Lahum rutbatun wa al-kullu amnun li-khā’ifī_

Moses, Abraham, and the son of Mary (Jesus)— they have high ranks, and all are a source of safety for the fearful.

**11.** وَلَكِنَّمَا الْمُخْتَارُ أَرْفَـعُ مَنْصِبًـــا / وَمِنْهُ مَنَالُ الْأَقْدَمِينَ الْغَطَارِفِ

_Wa lākinna mā al-muḵtāru arfa‘u manṣiban / Wa minhu manālu al-aqdamin al-ghaṭārifī_

However, the Chosen One holds the most elevated station, and from him, the ancients and the great masters attained their reach.

**12.** فَمِنْهُ عُلُومُ الْعَالَمِيــــــــنَ فَـــآدَمٌ / بِهِ عُلِّمَ الْأَسْمَاءَ قَبْلَ التَّعَــارُفِ

_Fa-minhu ‘ulūmu al-‘ālamīna fa-Ādamun / Bihi ‘ullima al-asmā’a qabla al-ta‘ārifī_

From him come the sciences of the worlds; even Adam was taught the Names through him before any acquaintance.

**13.** فَسَادَ بِذَا أَوْلاَدُهُ وَهْـــــــوَ سَيِّــــدٌ / لِسِرِّ وُجُودِ الْكَوْنِ جَمُّ الْمَعَارِفِ

_Fa-sāda bi-dhā awlāduhu wa huwa sayyidun / Li-sirri wujūdi al-kawni jamma al-ma‘ārifi_

Thus did his children gain mastery, yet he is the Master of the secret of the universe's existence, the collector of all gnosis.

**14.** فَأَوْصَافُهُ قُدْسِيَّةٌ وَهْـــوَ قَدْ سَمَـا / عَلَى رُتْبَةِ الْأَرْسَالِ فَوْقَ السَّقَائِفِ

_Fa-awṣāfuhu qudsiyyatun wa huwa qad samā / ‘Alā rutbati al-arsāli fawqa al-saqā’ifi_

His attributes are sanctified, and he has ascended above the ranks of all Messengers, beyond all limits.

**15.** فَآيَاتُهُمْ آيَاتُهُ وَهْــــــوَ قَـــدْ سَقَـــى / جُيُوشًا بِفَيْضٍ مِنْ بَنَانٍ لَطَائِـــفِ

_Fa-āyātuhum āyātuhu wa huwa qad saqā / Juyūshan bi-fayḍin min banānin laṭā’ifi_

Their signs are but his signs; and he is the one who gave water to entire armies through the overflow of his delicate fingertips.

**16.** وَسَبَّحَتِ الْأَحْجَارُ فِي وَسْطِ كَفِّهِ / وَأَحْيَا الَّذِي قَدْ مَاتَ رَأْسُ الطَّوَائِفِ

_Wa sabbaḥati al-aḥjāru fī wasti kaffihī / Wa aḥyā alladhī qad māta ra’su al-ṭawā’ifi_

The stones glorified God while in the palm of Ahmad, and the head of all groups (the Prophet) revived that which was dead.

**17.** مَشَتْ نَحْوَهُ الْأَشْجَارُ وَالذِّئبُ أَفْصَحَتْ / كَذَا ظَبْيَةٌ وَالضَّبُّ إِفْصَاحَ عَـــــــارِفِ

_Mashat naḥwahu al-ashjāru wa al-dhi’bu afṣaḥat / Ka-dhā ẓabiyatun wa al-ḍabbu ifṣāḥa ‘ārifī_

The trees walked toward him, and the wolf spoke eloquently, as did the gazelle and the lizard, with the speech of a gnostic.

**18.** وَتَعْدَادُ آيِ الْمُصْطَفَى لَيْــــــسَ نَافِعًـــا / فَلَيْسَ عُشَيْرَ الْعُشْرِ مَا فِي الصَّحَائِفِ

_Wa ta‘dādu āyī al-muṣṭafā laysa nāfi‘an / Fa-laysa ‘ushayra al-‘ushri mā fī al-ṣaḥā’ifi_

Enumerating the miracles of the Chosen One is an endless task, for what is written in books is not even a tenth of a tenth of them.

**19.** فَيَا رَبِّ فَاجْعَلْنِي لَهُ الدَّهْرَ خَادِمًا / وَكُفَّ عَنِّي يَا رَبِّ كَيْدَ الْمَعَارِفِ

_Fa-yā rabbī fa-j‘alnī lahu al-dahra khādiman / Wa kuffa ‘annī yā rabbī kayda al-ma‘ārifi_

O Lord, make me his servant for all eternity, and ward off from me, O Lord, the plots of the worldly-wise.

**20.** وَتَشْفِي بُنَيِّي وَابْقِــــهِ وَتُنِيلُـــــــهُ / رَشَادًا فَلاَ يُلْفَى عُبَيْدَ الزَّخَـارِفِ

_Wa tashfī bunayyī wabqihi wa tunīluhu / Rashādan fa-lā yulfā ‘ubayda al-zakhārifi_

Heal my young son, preserve him, and grant him right guidance, so he is never found as a slave to worldly decorations.

**21.** وَأَصْلِحْ شُؤُونَ الْمُنْتَمِينَ لِحِزْبِنَـــــا / بَدَوْا فِي الْفَلاَ وَالْأَرْضِ أَمْ كُلُّ عَاكِفِ

_Wa aṣliḥ shu’ūna al-muntamīna li-ḥizbinā / Badaw fī al-falā wa al-arḍi am kullu ‘ākifī_

Rectify the affairs of those belonging to our group, whether they roam the deserts and the earth or remain in seclusion.

**22.** وَلاَ تُشْمِتِ الْأَعْدَاءَ يَوْمًا بِوَاحِدٍ / فَأَنْتَ جَمِيلٌ قَادِرٌ ذُو الْمَصَارِفِ

_Wa lā tushmiti al-a‘dā’a yawman bi-wāḥidin / Fa-anta jamīlun qādirun dhū al-maṣārifi_

Never let the enemies gloat over any one of us, for You are Beautiful, Powerful, and the Disposer of all affairs.

**23.** صَلاَةٌ وَتَسْلِيمٌ عَلَى مَنْ سَمَتْ بِهِ / مَعَدُّ بْنُ عَدْنَانٍ رُؤُوسُ الْغَطَارِفِ

_Ṣalātun wa taslīmun ‘alā man samat bihi / Ma‘addu ibn ‘Adnānin ru’ūsu al-ghaṭārifī_

Blessings and peace be upon the one through whom were elevated the descendants of Ma'ad ibn Adnan, the heads of the noble.

**24.** وَآلٍ وَأَصْحَابٍ مَدَى قَوْلِ مُوقِنٍ / وَثِقْتُ بِرَبٍّ جَادَ لِي بِاللَّطَائِــــفِ

_Wa ālin wa aṣḥābin madā qawli mūqinin / Wa thiqtu bi-rabbin jāda lī bi-l-laṭā’ifi_

And upon his family and companions, as long as a person of certainty says: "I have trusted in a Lord who has been generous to me with His subtleties."
