**1.** ثَقِفْتُ اعْوِجَاجَ الْخَلْقِ مَا عَاشَ عَايِشُ / بِذِكْرِ الَّذِي مِنْهُ تَطِيــــــبُ الْمَعَائِـشُ

_Thaqiftu ‘awijāja al-khalqi mā ‘āsha ‘āyishu / Bi dhikri alladhī minhu taṭību al-ma‘āishu_

I have straightened the crookedness of creation as long as any living being lives, through the remembrance of the one through whom all livelihoods become sweet.

**2.** فَمَلْكٌ وَسُلْطَانُ الْمُلُوكِ خَدِيمُـــهُ / وَذَا شَرَفٌ لَمْ يَخْمَشَنْ فِيهِ خَامِشُ

_Fa-malkun wa sulṭānu al-mulūki khadīmuhu / Wa dhā sharafun lam yakhmashan fīhi khāmisu_

For even kings and the Sultan of kings are his servants; and this is an honor that no scratcher can ever diminish.

**3.** خَرَجْنَا مِنَ الْأَغْيَارِ بِالذِّكْرِ دَائِمًا / بِحُبِّ رَسُولِ اللّٰهِ تُنْفَى الْفَوَاحِـــشُ

_Kharajnā mina al-aghiyāri bi al-dhikri dā’iman / Bi ḥubbi Rasūli Allāhi tunfā al-fawāḥishu_

We have emerged from "others" (distractions from God) through constant remembrance; through the love of the Messenger of Allah, indecencies are banished.

**4.** أَلاَ بَجَلِي الْمُخْتَــــارُ دُونَ سِوَائِـــهِ / أَلاَ بَجَلِي الْمَحْمُودُ مَا عَاشَ عَائِشُ

_Alā bajalī al-mukhtāru dūna siwā’ihi / Alā bajalī al-maḥmūdu mā ‘āsha ‘āishu_

Indeed, the Chosen One is sufficient for me above all others; indeed, the Praiseworthy One is my sufficiency as long as I live.

**5.** لَئِنْ غَابَ عَنْكُمْ ذَا الْحَبِيبُ فَإِنَّهُ / بِقَلْبِي فَلَمْ يَخْدِشْ فُـؤَادِيَ خَادِشُ

_La’in ghāba ‘ankum dhā al-ḥabību fa-innahū / Bi qalbī fa-lam yakhdish fu’ādī khādishu_

Even if this Beloved is absent from your physical sight, he is within my heart, and no wounder has ever scratched my soul.

**6.** زَمَانِي رَسُولُ اللّٰهِ وَهْـــــوَ مَكَانُــهُ / وَذَلِكَ حِصْنُ الْعَبْدِ إِنْ رَاشَ رَائِشُ

_Zamānī Rasūlu Allāhi wa huwa makānuhu / Wa dhālika ḥiṣnu al-‘abdi in rāsha rā’ishu_

The Messenger of Allah is my time and he is my place; and that is the servant's fortress if an archer should ever let fly his arrows.

**7.** خَلِيفَةُ رَبِّ الْعَرْشِ وَهْوَ أَمِينُــــهُ / وَقَدْ خَضَعَتْ لِأَخْمَصَيْهِ الْفَرَائِشُ

_Khalīfatu Rabbil-‘arshi wa huwa amīnuhu / Wa qad khaḍa‘at li-akhmasayhi al-farāishu_

The vicegerent of the Lord of the Throne and His trustworthy one; the very hearts of men have submitted to the soles of his feet.

**8.** وَشَمْسُ الْـهُـدَى لَيْثُ الْعِدَى هَيْكَلُ النَّدَى / وَهُو شَافِعٌ يَـــــــوْمَ الْقِيَامَــــةِ نَاعِـــشُ

_Wa shamsu al-hudā layshu al-‘idā haykalu al-nadā / Wa huwa shāfi‘un yawma al-qiyāmati nā‘ishu_

He is the Sun of Guidance, the Lion against enemies, the structure of generosity; and he is the intercessor on the Day of Resurrection who revives the soul.

**9.** ثَنَائِي عَلَيْهِ قَـــدْ كَفَانِــــــي فَصَلِّيَـــــنْ / عَلَيْهِ إِلَى الْآبَـــــــادِ فَهْـــيَ الْمَعَائِــشُ

_Thunā’ī ‘alayhi qad kafānī fa-ṣallīn / ‘Alayhi ilā al-ābādi fa-hiya al-ma‘āishu_

My praise for him has sufficed me, so send blessings upon him forever, for that is the true essence of living.
