Harfudh Dhaal ·
From Ad-Dawaawiinu s-Sitta · الدواوين الست by Sheikh Ibrahim Nyass
Dhakartu Rasūla Allāhi man zahzaha al-harjā
Wa wāṣalanī dahrī fa ṣirtu kam-man ḥajjā
I remembered the Messenger of Allah, the one who removed chaos, and my time reached such union that I became like one who has performed the Pilgrimage.
Yu’arriqunī dhikru al-amīn fa-laylatī
Ka‘āmin wa khayru al-khalqi qad atḥafa al-fuljā
The remembrance of the Trustworthy one keeps me awake, so my night feels like a year, and the Best of Creation has gifted me with victory.
Ḥawā ‘aqraba al-tidhkāri qalbī wa innahu
Madā al-dahri lā yulfā yufāriqu dhā al-burjā
My heart has encompassed the "Scorpio" of remembrance, and indeed throughout time it is never found leaving this "Zodiac sign."
Nashawtu bi dhikri al-muṣṭafā qabla nash’ātī
Ayā ‘ādhilī da‘nī fa qalbī bihi lajjā
I became intoxicated with the remembrance of the Chosen One before my own inception; O my censurer, leave me be, for my heart is deeply immersed in him.
Ḥalaftu yamīnan innanī al-dahra nāsijun
Li-amdāḥi khayri al-khalqi yā ni‘mahu nasjā
I have sworn an oath that I am forever a weaver of the praises of the Best of Creation—and what an excellent weaving it is.
Ṭawaitu bihi nashra al-‘ulūmi wa innanī
Marajtu bihi al-baḥrayni yā ḥabbadhā marjā
Through him, I folded the spreading of sciences, and through him, I merged the two oceans—what a wonderful merging.
Yumiddu jamī‘a al-kawni nūru bahā’ihi
Wa yamḥu jalālan kulla buṭlin matā dajjā
the light of his beauty sustains the entire universe and his majesty erases every falsehood whenever it grows dark.
Bi-badrin wa Uḥud qad taballaja wa inmaḥā
Bihi buṭlu Fihrin kāna min qablihi dajjā
At Badr and Uhud he shone brightly, and through him the falsehood of Fihr (the pagans) was erased after it had been dark.
Kadhā fī Ḥunayn qablahu fatḥu Makkah
Wa qad dawwakha al-aḥzāba fawjan yalī fawjā
Likewise at Hunayn, and before it the Conquest of Mecca, and he defeated the Confederates (Al-Ahzab) group after group.
Fa-ṣallā ‘alayhi Allāhu fī kulli ṭarfatin
‘Adīda al-ḥaṣā wa al-ramli mā zahzaha al-harjā
May Allah bless him in every blink of an eye, as numerous as the pebbles and the sand, as long as chaos is pushed away.
Wa ṣallā ‘alayhi Allāhu fī kulli dharratin
Ṣalātan tuḥīṭu al-baḥra wa al-fulka wa al-mawjā
May Allah bless him in every atom, a prayer that encompasses the sea, the ships, and the waves.
Wa yu‘ṭī ‘Ubaydan mā yarūmu wa fawqahu
Bi jāhi Rasūli Allāhi man ‘allama al-ḥajjā
And may He grant this little servant what he desires and more, by the rank of the Messenger of Allah, the one who taught the Pilgrimage.
‘Alayhi ṣalātu Allāhi fī kulli ḥālatin
Wa ālin wa ṣaḥbin thumma man ḥāzahū zawjā
Upon him be the blessings of Allah in every state, and upon the family and companions, and those who attained the status of his wives.
