# Harful Baa · حرف الباء

**1.** فَمَا لِـيَ غَيْرَ الْمُصْطَفَى الْبَدْرِ مَأْرَبُ / وَفِي جَائِزَاتِ الْغَيْرِ مَا لِيَ مَرْغَـبُ

_Fa mā liya ghayrاl Muṣṭafal badri ma’rabu / Wa fī jā’izātil ghayri mā liya marghabu_

I have no objective other than the Chosen One (al-Mustafa), the Full Moon, And in the rewards of others, I have no desire.

**2.** هُوَ الْكُلُّ مِنْهُ الْكُلُّ بَطْنـاً وَظَاهِراً / فَـبَهْرٌ سِوَاهُ مَا لَنَا فِيهِ مَشْـــــــرَبُ

_Huwal kullu minhu kullu baṭnan wa ẓāhiran / Fa bahrun siwāhu mā lanā fīhi mashrabu_

He is the "All," and from him is everything, inwardly and outwardly, For any sea besides him is not a place for us to drink.

**3.** فَمِنْ نُورِهِ الْكَوْنَانِ مِنْهُ تَفَجَّــــرَتْ / عُلُومُ جَمِيـعِ الرُّسْلِ وَالْكُلُّ يَشْرَبُ

_Fa min nūrihil kawnāni minhu tafajjarat / ‘Ulūmu jamī‘ir-rusli wal kullu yashrabu_

From his light, the two universes [and] from him gushed forth The sciences of all the Messengers, and everyone drinks [from it].

**4.** فَمُوسَى وَإِبْرَاهِيمُ وَالرُّوحُ كُلُّهُمْ / تَوَسَّلَ بِالْـهَادِي الْأَمِينِ فَقُرِّبُــــوا

_Fa Mūsā wa Ibrāhīmu war-rūḥu kulluhum / Tawassala bil hādil amīni faqurribū_

Moses, Abraham, and the Spirit (Jesus)—all of them Sought intercession through the Trustworthy Guide, and so they were drawn near.

**5.** هُوَ الْكَامِلُ الْمَحْمُودُ وَالسُّؤْلُ وَالْمُنَى / وَأَنْتَ الْحَبِيبُ الْمُصْطَفَى وَالْمُقَرَّبُ

_Huwal kāmilul maḥmūdu was-su’lu wal munā / Wa antal ḥabībul Muṣṭafā wal muqarrabu_

He is the Perfect One, the Praised, the Quest, and the Hope, And you are the Beloved, the Chosen, and the one brought Close.

**6.** وَقَدْ شَهِدَ اللّٰهُ الْعَظِيـــــمُ بِأَنَّــــهُ / عَظِيمٌ لِخَيْرِ الْخَلْقِ خُلْقٌ مُهَـذَّبُ

_Wa qad shahidallāhul ‘aẓīmu bi’annahū / ‘Aẓīmun likhayril khalqi khulqun muhadh-dhabu_

The Magnificent Allah has borne witness that he Has a character that is magnificent and refined—the best of creation.

**7.** عَلَيْكَ صَـــلاَةُ اللّٰهِ ثُـــمَّ سَلاَمُــهُ / صَلاَةً بِهَا يَنْقَادُ لِلْعَبْدِ مَطْلَـــــبُ

_‘Alayka ṣalātullāhi thumma salāmuhū / Ṣalātan bihā yanqādu lil ‘abdi maṭlabu_

Upon you be the blessings of Allah and His peace; A prayer by which every quest is made easy for the servant.

**8.** عَلَيْكَ صَلاَةُ اللّٰهِ فِي كُلِّ طَرْفَــةٍ / كَذَاكَ سَلاَمٌ مِثْلَ مِسْكٍ أَوْ أَطْيَبُ

_‘Alayka ṣalātullāhi fī kulli ṭarfatin / Kadhāka salāmun mithla miskin aw aṭyabu_

Upon you be the blessings of Allah in every blink of an eye, And likewise peace, like musk or even sweeter.

**9.** عَلَيْهِ صَلاَةُ اللّٰهِ ثُـــــمَّ سَلاَمُــــهُ / صَلاَةً لَنَا كُلَّ الْمَقَامَاتِ تَجْلِـــبُ

_‘Alayhi ṣalātullāhi thumma salāmuhū / Ṣalātan lanā kullal maqāmāti tajlibu_

Upon him be the blessings of Allah and His peace; A prayer that brings us all the spiritual stations.

**10.** عَلَيْـــــهِ صَــــلاَةُ اللّٰهِ ثُــــمَّ سَلاَمُـــــهُ / صَلاَةً لَنَا بِالْمُصْطَفَى الْجَدْبُ يَخْصِبُ

_‘Alayhi ṣalātullāhi thumma salāmuhū / Ṣalātan lanā bil Muṣṭafal jadbu yakhṣibu_

Upon him be the blessings of Allah and His peace; A prayer through which, by the Chosen One, our barren land becomes fertile.

**11.** عَلَيْهِ صَــــلاَةُ اللّٰهِ ثُـــــــمَّ سَلاَمُــــــهُ / مَعَ الْآلِ وَالْأَصْحَابِ دَهْرًا تُقَــــرِّبُ

_‘Alayhi ṣalātullāhi thumma salāmuhū / Ma‘al āli wal aṣḥābi dahran tuqarribu_

Upon him be the blessings of Allah and His peace; Along with the Family and Companions, forever bringing [us] near.
