# Harfut Taa · حرف التاء

**1.** تَذَكَّرْتُ مَنْ هُو لِلْوَرَى كُـلِّـهِمْ قُــوتُ / وَهُمْ حَجَرٌ وَالْمُصْطَفَى الْقَرْمُ يَاقُـوتُ

_Tadhakkartu man huwa lil-warā kullihim qūtu / Wa-hum hajarun wal-Muṣṭafal-qarmu yāqūtu_

I remembered him who is the nourishment for all of creation, While they are like common stones and the Chosen One is a precious ruby.

**2.** فَطَـــهَ تَجَلِّي الذَّاتِ بَلْ هُوَ عَيْنُهَا / فَمُلْكُ الْعَلِي مِنْهَا كَــــذَا مَلَكُــوتُ

_Fa-Ṭāhā tajallid-dhāti bal huwa ‘aynuhā / Fa-mulkul-‘Aliyyi minhā kadhā malakūtu_

For Taha (the Prophet) is the manifestation of the Divine Essence, nay its very source, From which the Kingdom of the Most High and the Sovereignty emerge.

**3.** لِذَاكَ سَرَى وَالْفَرْشُ مَوْطِئُ نَعْلِهِ / وَمِنْ هَيْبَةٍ قَدِ انْثَنَى عَنْهُ خِرِّيتُ

_Lidhāka sarā wal-farshu mawṭi’u na‘lihi / Wa-min haybatin qadin-thanā ‘anhu khirrītu_

For that reason he traveled by night, the very Heavens being the path for his sandals, And out of awe, even the most expert guides turned away in humility.

**4.** وَسَارَ يَشُقُّ الْحُجْبَ دُونَ مُزَاحِمٍ / وَلاَ خَادِمٍ إِلاَّ تَثَنَّـــى لَــــهُ لِيــــتُ

_Wa-sāra yashuqqul-hujba dūna muzāḥimin / Wa-lā khādimun illā tathannā lahu lītu_

He proceeded, piercing the veils without any competitor, And every servant (angel) bent their neck in reverence to him.

**5.** دَنَـــا فَتَدَلَّى دُونَ كَيْـــفٍ فَإِنَّـــــهُ / تَقَاصَرَ عَنْ هَـــذَيْنِكَ الْجَبَـرُوتُ

_Danā fa-tadallā dūna kayfin fa-innahu / Taqāṣara ‘an hadhaynikal-jabarūtu_

He drew near and came down, beyond any "how" (description), For even the Realm of Might (Jabarut) fell short of those two stages.

**6.** فَسِرٌّ سَـرَى لِلسِّـرِّ بِالسِّرِّ وَحْـدَهُ / فَمَا ثَمَّ إِلاَّ الْحَقُّ وَالسِّرُّ لاَهُــوتُ

_Fa-sirrun sarā lis-sirri bis-sirri waḥdahu / Fa-mā thamma illal-Ḥaqqu was-sirru lāhūtu_

A secret traveled to the Secret, by the Secret, alone, And there was nothing there but the Truth, and the Secret is Divine (Lahut).

**7.** فَيَا لَكَ مِنْ مَرْأًى هُنَاكَ وَمَسْمَــعٍ / حَوَاهُ حَبِيبُ اللّٰهِ وَالرُّسْلُ مَا أُوتُوا

_Fa-yā laka min mar’an hunāka wa-masma‘in / Ḥawāhu ḥabībullāhi war-ruslu mā ūtū_

O, what a sight and what a hearing was there! Which the Beloved of Allah attained, while other Messengers were not given it.

**8.** فَأَيْنَ طُوَى مِـــنْ ذَا وَأَيْــنَ كَلِيمُـــهُ / وَأَيْنَ الَّذِي نَاجَى وَمَسْجِدُهُ الْحُوتُ

_Fa-ayna Ṭuwā min dhā wa-ayna Kalīmuhu / Wa-aynal-ladhī nājā wa-masjiduhul-ḥūtu_

Where is Mount Tuwa compared to this? And where is its "Speaker" (Moses)? And where is he who called out (Jonah) while his mosque was the belly of the whale?

**9.** عَلَيْـــــهِ صَــــلاَةُ اللّٰهِ ثُــــمَّ سَلاَمُـــهُ / بِهَا يَسْهُلُ الْأَرْزَاقُ وَالْعَيْشُ وَالْقُوتُ

_‘Alayhi ṣalātullāhi thumma salāmuhu / Bihā yashulul-arzāqu wal-‘ayshu wal-qūtu_

Upon him be the prayers of Allah and then His peace, By which provisions, life, and nourishment are made easy.

**10.** عَلَيْـــهِ صَـــــلاَةُ اللّٰهِ ثُــــمَّ سَلاَمُـــهُ / فَتُشْرِقُ مِنْ أَنْوَارِهِ الْغُـرِّ نَاسُــــوتُ

_‘Alayhi ṣalātullāhi thumma salāmuhu / Fa-tushriqu min anwārihil-ghurri nāsūtu_

Upon him be the prayers of Allah and then His peace, Through which the human realm (Nasut) shines from his radiant lights.

**11.** عَلَيْهِ مَــــعَ الْآلِ الْكِـرَامِ وَصَحْبِــهِ / صَلاَةٌ مِنَ الرَّحْمَـــانِ وَالرَّحَمُــوتُ

_‘Alayhi ma‘al-ālil-kirāmi wa-ṣaḥbihi / Ṣalātun minar-Raḥmāni war-raḥamūtu_

Upon him, his noble family, and his companions, Be prayers and mercy from the Most Merciful.
