# Harfuth Thaa · حرف الثاء

**1.** سَمَا لَكَ شَوْقٌ بِالْأَمِينِ الَّذِي نَفَـــثْ / بِرَوْعٍ لَهُ الرُّوحُ الْأَمِينُ مَتَى بُعِـثْ

_Samā laka shawqun bil-amīnil-ladhī nafath / Bi-raw‘in lahur-rūḥul-amīnu matā bu‘ith_

A longing has risen within you for the Trustworthy one (the Prophet), Into whose heart the Trustworthy Spirit (Gabriel) breathed when he was sent.

**2.** عَلَيْـــــــهِ صَـــلاَةُ اللّٰهِ ثُــــمَّ سَلاَمُـــهُ / مَعَ الْآلِ وَالْأَصْحَابِ مَا حَادِثٌ حَدَثْ

_‘Alayhi ṣalātullāhi thumma salāmuhu / Ma‘al-āli wal-aṣḥābi mā ḥādithun ḥadath_

Upon him be the prayers of Allah and then His peace, With his family and companions, as long as any event occurs.

**3.** عَلَيْــهِ صَــــلاَةُ اللّٰهِ ثُــــمَّ سَلاَمُــــهُ / مِنَ الْعَبْدِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَالْعَهْدَ مَا نَكَـــثْ

_‘Alayhi ṣalātullāhi thumma salāmuhu / Minal-‘abdi Ibrāhīma wal-‘ahda mā nakath_

Upon him be the prayers of Allah and then His peace, From the servant Ibrahim, who has never broken his covenant.

**4.** فَشُغْلِيَ ذِكْرُ الْمُصْطَفَى وَمَدِيحُـــهُ / بِحَمْدِ إِلَـهِــي لاَ فُسُوقَ وَلاَ رَفَـــثْ

_Fa-shughliya dhikrul-Muṣṭafā wa-madīḥuhu / Bi-ḥamdi Ilāhī lā fusūqa wa-lā rafath_

My sole occupation is the remembrance and praise of the Chosen One, By the grace of my God, free from any wickedness or obscenity.

**5.** هُوَ الْعَبْـــدُ حَقًّــــا وَالْأَنَـــامُ عَبِيـــــدُهُ / فَكُنْ لِيَ يَا مُخْتَارُ كُنْ لِي لَدَى الْجَدَثْ

_Huwal-‘abdu ḥaqqan wal-anāmu ‘abīduhu / Fa-kun liya yā Mukhtāru kun lī laday-al-jadath_

He is the true Servant (of God), and all of mankind are his servants, So be there for me, O Chosen One, be there for me at the grave.

**6.** وَكُنْ لِمُحِبٍّ فِي الْأُمُورِ بِأَسْرِهَا / أَغِثْهُ سَرِيعًا يَا كَرِيمُ أَغِثْ أَغِثْ

_Wa-kun li-muḥibbin fil-umūri bi-asrihā / Aghith-hu sarī‘an yā Karīmu aghith aghith_

And be there for your lover in all of his affairs, Succor him quickly, O Generous One, succor him, succor him!

**7.** لَدَى الْقَبْرِ مَهْمَا يُسْأَلُ الْعَبْـدُ عَنْكُمُ / فَقُلْ خَادِمِي وَاشْفَعْ لِحُبِّكَ إِذْ بُعِثْ

_Ladayal-qabri mahmā yus’alul-‘abdu ‘ankumu / Fa-qul khādimī washfa‘ li-ḥubbika in bu‘ith_

At the grave, whenever this servant is questioned about you, Say, "He is my servant," and intercede for your beloved when he is resurrected.

**8.** عَلَيْكَ صَـــلاَةُ اللّٰهِ ثُـــمَّ سَلاَمُـــهُ / تَقِينِيَ شَرَّ السِّحْرِ إِنْ نَافِثٌ نَفَثْ

_‘Alayka ṣalātullāhi thumma salāmuhu / Taqīniya sharras-siḥri in nāfithun nafath_

Upon you be the prayers of Allah and then His peace, Protecting me from the evil of magic when the blower blows (upon knots).

**9.** عَلَيْكَ صَــــلاَةُ اللّٰهِ ثُــمَّ سَلاَمُـــهُ / عَدِيدَ مَخَالِيقِ الْمُهَيْمِنِ حَيْثُ بَثْ

_‘Alayka ṣalātullāhi thumma salāmuhu / ‘Adīda makhālīqil-Muhaymini ḥaythu bath_

Upon you be the prayers of Allah and then His peace, As numerous as the creatures the Protector has spread throughout existence.

**10.** عَلَيْهِ مَعَ الْآلِ الْكِـــــرَامِ وَصَحْبِــهِ / عَدِيدَ الَّذِي وَافَى بِهِ الرُّوحُ إِذْ نَفَـثْ

_‘Alayhi ma‘al-ālil-kirāmi wa-ṣaḥbihi / ‘Adīdal-ladhī wāfā bihir-rūḥu idh nafath_

Upon him, his noble family, and his companions, As numerous as the revelations the Spirit brought when he breathed them forth.
