Harful Dhaal ·
From Ad-Dawaawiinu s-Sitta · الدواوين الست by Sheikh Ibrahim Nyass
Dhakartu Rasūla Allāhi Ṭāhā man anqadhā
Fu’ādī ‘ani al-ahwā wa-amriya naffadhā
I remembered the Messenger of Allah, Taha, who rescued my heart from whims and gave my life direction.
Dhakartu Nabiyya al-Anbiyā’i alladhī bihi
Yafūzu khadīmun minhu yudriku ma’khadhā
I remembered the Prophet of Prophets, through whom a servant succeeds and gains his spiritual portion.
Dhakartu alladhī lam ansahu ad-dahra idh lanā
Bihi ḥālatun lam tu‘ṭi lidh-dhikri manfadhā
I remembered the one I have never forgotten for a lifetime, for we have a state with him that leaves no room for any other thought to enter.
Fa-mā khāṭirun lil-‘abdi illā Muḥammadun
Wa-mā in yarā ar-rā’ī siwāhu wa-lā qadhā
There is no thought in the servant's mind except Muhammad, and the observer sees nothing besides him, not even a speck of dust.
‘Alayhi ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu
Bihā ṭāba lil-arwāḥi bil-Muṣṭafā ghidhā
Upon him be the prayers of Allah and then His peace, through which the souls find a sweet nourishment in the Chosen One.
‘Alayhi ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu
Bihā yaqrubu al-Hādī ila al-‘abdi munqidhā
Upon him be the prayers of Allah and then His peace, through which the Guide draws near to the servant as a savior.
Fa-Ṭāhā ḥabību Allāhi wa-huwa khalīluhu
Wa-hadhā khadīmun mādiḥan mutaladh-dhidhā
For Taha is the Beloved of Allah and His intimate friend, and here is a servant, praising him with pure delight.
‘Asā al-Muṣṭafā yawman yajūdu bi-waṣlihi
Wa-yu‘ṭī murādī: yā khadīmu li-ta’khudhā
Perhaps one day the Chosen One will be generous with his union and grant my desire, saying: "O servant, take what you seek."
‘Alayhi ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu
Ukarriru taslīma al-ḥabībi taladh-dhidhā
Upon him be the prayers of Allah and then His peace; I repeat my salutations to the Beloved out of sheer enjoyment.
‘Alayhi ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu
Ma‘a al-āli wal-aṣḥābi mā an-nūru anqadhā
Upon him be the prayers of Allah and then His peace, along with his family and companions, as long as light continues to save.
