Harfush Sheen ·
From Ad-Dawaawiinu s-Sitta · الدواوين الست by Sheikh Ibrahim Nyass
Shuhūdī li-‘ayni adh-dhāti ṭayyaba lī al-‘ayshā
Qadīman atānī nūruhu ḥaythumā rushshā
My witnessing of the Essence of the Source has made my life sweet; his light reached me long ago, wherever it was sprinkled.
Atānī hawāhu qabla an a‘rifa al-hawā
Fa-innī muḥibbu al-Muṣṭafā ad-dahra mā ghashshā
Passion for him came to me before I even knew what passion was; indeed, I am a lover of the Chosen One for as long as time endures.
‘Alayhi ṣalātu rabbihi ḥaqqa qadrihi
Bihā ḥaythumā alqā al-amīna al-‘alī bashshā
Upon him be the prayer of his Lord as is his true due, through which—wherever I meet the Trustworthy, Exalted One—he smiles.
‘Alayhi ṣalātu rabbihi ḥaqqa qadrihi
Madā ad-dahri min ‘abdin khadīmin lahu hisshā
Upon him be the prayer of his Lord as is his true due, for all eternity, from a servant and helper who is joyful for him.
‘Alayhi ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu
Ṣalātan tazīnu al-‘abda wal-ṭirsa wan-naqshā
Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace, a prayer that beautifies the servant, the parchment, and the calligraphy.
Fa-man ‘āsha yawman bi-ḥtirāfin wa-ḥikmatin
Fa-innī bi-dhikrin lil-ḥabībi arā al-‘ayshā
While some live their days through craft and worldly wisdom, I find the true meaning of life in the remembrance of the Beloved.
‘Alayhi ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu
Bihi ad-dahra lā alqā alladhī yūrithu al-ṭayshā
Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace; through him, I never encounter across time that which causes recklessness or folly.
‘Alā al-durrati al-bayḍā’i azkā ṣalātihi
Ṣalātan wa-taslīman tuḍī’u lanā al-ghaṭshā
Upon the "White Pearl" be His purest prayers—a prayer and salutation that illuminates the darkness for us.
‘Alayhi ṣalātu Allāhi fī kulli ṭarfatin
Bihā yaltaqī al-a‘dā’u min ḥaḍratī baṭshā
Upon him be the prayer of Allah in every blinking of an eye, through which enemies encounter a forceful strike from my presence.
‘Alayhi ma‘a al-āli al-kirāmi wa-ṣaḥbihi
Ṣalātun mina al-mawlā turashshu bihā rashshā
Upon him, along with the noble family and his companions, be a prayer from the Lord that is showered down in abundance.
