نَعِيمِيَ ذِكْرُ الْمُصْطَفَى النُّورِ مَنْ خُصَّا
بِأَسْرَارِ أَسْمَاءِ الْمُهَيْمِــــنِ مَن خَصَّـــا
Na‘īmiya dhikru al-Muṣṭafā an-nūri man khuṣṣā
Bi-asrāri asmā’i al-Muhaymini man khaṣṣā
My paradise is the remembrance of the Chosen One, the Light who was singled out with the secrets of the Names of the Protector, who chose him.
مُحَمَّدُ عَبْــــــدُ اللّٰهِ نَاصِــــرُ دِينِـــهِ
وَأَنْصَارِهِ مَا لاَ يُعَدُّ وَلاَ يُحْصَـــى
Muḥammadu ‘abdu Allāhi nāṣiru dīnihi
Wa-anṣārihi mā lā yu‘addu wa-lā yuḥṣā
Muhammad, the servant of Allah, the helper of His religion and its supporters, in numbers that can neither be counted nor calculated.
فَمَلْكٌ طَــــــــوَى أَيَّامَـــــهُ مُتَقَلِّــــلاً
وَلِلنَّفْعِ وَالْإِرْشَادِ قَدْ أَدْمَنَ الْحِرْصَا
Fa-malkun ṭawā ayyāmahu mutaqallilan
Wa-lin-naf‘i wal-irshādi qad admana al-ḥirṣā
A King who folded his days in asceticism and fewness, yet for the sake of benefit and guidance, he was habitually dedicated.
فَيَا لَيْتَ شِعْرِي هَلْ أَفُوزُ بِـــزَوْرَةٍ
لِدَارِ حَبِيبِ اللّٰهِ هَلْ أُعْمِلُ النَّصَّـــا
Fa-yā layta shi‘rī hal afūzu bi-zawratin
Li-dāri ḥabībi Allāhi hal u‘milu an-naṣṣā
O, I wish I knew: will I be successful in attaining a visit to the home of the Beloved of Allah; shall I set out on a journey with full effort?
دِيَارٌ لِمَنْ قَدْ بَاتَ عَرْشًـــــا لِعَرْشِـــهِ
وَوَافَى بِخَمْسٍ لَنْ تُرَى سَرْمَدًا نَقْصَا
Diyārun li-man qad bāta ‘arshan li-‘arshihi
Wa-wāfā bi-khamsin lan turā sarmadan naqṣā
These are the lands of the one who became the throne for His Throne, and who came with the five prayers which shall never be seen as deficient.
أُعَفِّرُ خَدِّي بِالرُّبُـــــــوعِ رُبُوعِــــهِ
وَأَسْقِي بِمَاءِ الشَّأْنِ تُرْبَةَ مَنْ خُصَّا
U‘affiru khaddī bir-rubū‘i rubū‘ihi
Wa-asqī bi-mā’i ash-sha’ni turbata man khuṣṣā
I would rub my cheek in the dust of his quarters, and water with the "water of the matter" the soil of the one who was specially chosen.
وَأُخْبِرُهُ مَا قَدْ لَقِيتُ مِنَ الْأَسَـــــى
وَإِنْ كَانَ لَمْ يَحْتَجْ إِلَى ذِكْرِهِ نَصَّا
Wa-ukbiruhu mā qad laqītu mina al-asā
Wa-in kāna lam yaḥtaj ilā dhikrihi naṣṣā
I would inform him of the grief I have encountered, even though he has no need for a verbal explanation of it.
فَبَحْرٌ مُحِيطٌ بِالْعِبَــــــادِ وَأَمْرِهَـــا
فَلَمْ يَكُ فِي تَفْصِيلِهِ يَطْلُبُ الْخَرْصَا
Fa-baḥrun muḥīṭun bil-‘ibādi wa-amrihā
Fa-lam yaku fī tafṣīlihi yaṭlubu al-kharṣā
For he is an ocean encompassing the servants and their affairs; he does not require conjecture or estimation to know the details.
عَلَيْهِ صَـــــــــلاَةُ اللّٰهِ ثُــــــمَّ سَلاَمُــــهُ
مَعَ الْآلِ وَالْأَصْحَابِ مَنْ عَمَّ أَوْ خَصَّا
‘Alayhi ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu
Ma‘a al-āli wal-asḥābi man ‘amma aw khaṣṣā
Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace, along with his family and companions, whether generally or specifically.
عَلَيْهِ صَــــــــلاَةُ اللّٰهِ ثُـــــمَّ سَلاَمُـــــهُ
صَلاَةً بِهَا مِنْ بَحْرِهِ نُــدْرِكُ الْمَصَّـــا
‘Alayhi ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu
Ṣalātan bihā min baḥrihi nudriku al-maṣṣā
Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace—a prayer through which we are granted a sip from his vast ocean.
