**1.** كَفَانِي شُرُورَ الْجِنِّ وَالْإِنْسِ مَـنْ نَفَــى / دُجَى الْبَغْيِ وَالْأَسْوَاءِ بِالنُّورِ مُصْطَفَى

_Kafānī shurūra al-jinni wa-l-insi man nafā / dujā al-baghyi wa-l-aswā’i bi-l-nūri Muṣṭafā_

The one who banished the darkness of transgression and evil with light, the Chosen One, has sufficed me against the evils of jinn and men.

**2.** كَفَانِيَ مَكْرَ الْمَاكِرِيـــنَ وَكَيْدَهُـــــمْ / كَفَى الضُّرَّ وَالْبَأْسَاءَ عَنِّيَ وَالْجَفَا

_Kafāniya makra al-mākirīna wa-kaydahum / kafā al-ḍurra wa-l-ba’sā’a ʿannī wa-l-jafā_

He has sufficed me against the plots and deceptions of the schemers, and has warded off harm, misfortune, and abandonment from me.

**3.** وَأَلْزَمَنِي ذِكْرَ الْحَبِيبِ وَمَدْحَهُ / عَلَيْهِ صَلاَةُ اللّٰهِ مَا شَارِقٌ خَفَــا

_Wa-alzamanī dhikra al-ḥabībi wa-madḥahu / ʿalayhi ṣalātu Allāhi mā shāriqun khafā_

He has made it binding upon me to remember the Beloved and praise him; may the blessings of Allah be upon him as long as a rising star is seen.

**4.** عَلَيْهِ صَلاَةُ اللّٰهِ كَالْقَطْرِ وَالْحَصَى / وَكَالرَّمْلِ وَالْأَوْرَاقِ مَا دَامَ مُقْتَفَى

_ʿAlayhi ṣalātu Allāhi ka-l-qaṭri wa-l-ḥaṣā / wa-ka-l-ramli wa-l-awrāqi mā dāma muqtafā_

May the blessings of Allah be upon him as numerous as raindrops, pebbles, sand, and leaves, for as long as he is followed.

**5.** وَكَالْقَدْرِ وَالْمِقْـــــدَارِ بَطْنًـــا وَظَاهِـــرًا / مَدَى الدَّهْرِ يَا مَنْ قَادَ لِي كُلَّ مَا اصْطَفَى

_Wa-ka-l-qadri wa-l-miqdāri baṭnan wa-ẓāhiran / madā al-dahri yā man qāda lī kulla mā ṣṭafā_

Blessings as vast as his status and measure, inwardly and outwardly, for all time—O You who have guided to me all that You have chosen.

**6.** مُحَمَّـــدُ عَبْــــــدُ اللّٰهِ سَيِّـــــدُ خَلْقِــــــهِ / وَسَلِّـــمْ عَلَيْــهِ وَارْحَمَـــنَّ وَشَرِّفَــــا

_Muḥammadu ʿabdu Allāhi sayyidu khalqihi / wa-sallim ʿalayhi wa-rḥamanna wa-sharrifā_

Muhammad, the servant of Allah and the master of His creation; grant him peace, mercy, and honor.

**7.** تَجَلَّــتْ لَــــهُ الــذَّاتُ الْعَلِيَّــــةُ سَاذِجـــاً / وَعَيْنُ الْعَمَى وَالطَّمْسِ مُعْطًى وَمُتْحَفَا

_Tajallat lahu al-dhātu al-ʿaliyyatu sādijan / wa-ʿaynu al-ʿamā wa-l-ṭamsi muʿṭan wa-mutḥafā_

The Divine Essence manifested to him in its purity, giving and gifting him while the eyes of others were veiled and blinded.

**8.** فَتَمَّمَـــــــهُ رَبٌّ كَرِيــــــــــمٌ أَحَبَّــــهُ / وَأَكْمَلَـهُ حِسًّــا وَمَعْنًــى وَضَعَّـــفَا

_Fa-tammamahu Rabbun Karīmun aḥabbahu / wa-akmalahu ḥissan wa-maʿnan wa-ḍaʿʿafā_

A Generous Lord who loved him perfected him, completing him in both physical form and spiritual meaning, and increasing his stature.

**9.** حَبَاهُ وَأَجْـــــــدَاهُ وَقَــــرَّبَ ذَاتَـــهُ / لِحَضْرَتِهِ الْعَلْيَا وَأَعْطَــى وَنَيَّفَـــا

_Ḥabāhu wa-ajdāhu wa-qarraba dhātahu / li-ḥaḍratihi al-ʿulyā wa-aʿṭā wa-nayyafā_

He bestowed upon him, enriched him, and drew his essence close to His High Presence, giving him more than can be counted.

**10.** فَهُــو أَوَّلُ التَّوْحِيــــدِ أَوَّلُ قَابِـــــلٍ / تَجَلِّيَ ذَاتِ الْحَقِّ زَحْـــزَحَ رَفْرَفَـــا

_Fahuwa awwalu al-tawḥīdi awwalu qābilin / tajalliya dhāti al-ḥaqqi zaḥzaḥa rafrafā_

For he is the first of Monotheism, the first to receive the manifestation of the Divine Truth when the veils were drawn back.

**11.** وَأَوَّلُ مَوْجُــــــــودٍ وَأَوَّلُ خَــــادِمٍ / وَأَوَّلُ مَخْــــدُومٍ أُطِيـــعَ وَأُتْحِفَـــا

_Wa-awwalu mawjūdin wa-awwalu khādimin / wa-awwalu makhdūmin uṭīʿa wa-utḥafā_

He is the first existence, the first servant, and the first to be served, obeyed, and honored with gifts.

**12.** وَأَوَّلُ مَذْكُــــــــورٍ وَأَوَّلُ ذَاكِــــرٍ / وَأَوْفَى لَنَا خِرْقًا سَرِيًّـــا مُشَرَّفَـــا

_Wa-awwalu madhkūrin wa-awwalu dhākirin / wa-awfā lanā khirqan sariyyan musharrafā_

He is the first to be mentioned and the first to mention God, providing for us a noble and honorable spiritual path.

**13.** فَأَعْطَى لِكُلِّ الْخَلْقِ كُــــلَّ فَوَاضِــلٍ / وَأَعْطَى لِأَهْلِ الْفَضْلِ فَضْلاً وَنَفْنَفَا

_Fa-aʿṭā li-kulli al-khalqi kulla fawāḍilin / wa-aʿṭā li-ahli al-faḍli faḍlan wa-nafnafā_

He granted all virtues to all of creation, and gave the people of excellence even greater favor and height.

**14.** بِهِ بَانَ سِــــــــرُّ الْكَائِنَــــاتِ فَـــآدَمٌ / فَنُوحٌ فَإِبْرَاهِيـــــمُ فَالْكُــــلَّ أَتْحَفَــــا

_Bihi bāna sirru al-kā’ināti fa-Ādamu / fa-Nūḥun fa-Ibrāhīmu fa-l-kulla atḥafā_

Through him, the secret of all beings became clear; thus Adam, Noah, and Abraham were all honored through him.

**15.** فَمُوسَى فَعِيسَى ثُمَّ حِبِّـــــي مُحَمَّـــدٌ / بِهِ أُتْحِفُوا حَمْلَ الْأَمَانَـــــةِ وَالْوَفَـــا

_Fa-Mūsā fa-ʿĪsā thumma ḥibbī Muḥammadun / bihi utḥifū ḥamla al-amānati wa-l-wafā_

Then Moses, Jesus, and then my beloved Muhammad; through him, they were graced to carry the Trust and fulfill the covenant.

**16.** وَمَارِيئَ مِنْ خَيْــــرِ الْأَنَامِ مُحَمَّــدٍ / سِوَى ظِلِّهِ مَاحِي الظِّــــلاَلِ مُثَقِّفَــا

_Wa-mā ru’iya min khayri al-anāmi Muḥammadin / siwā ẓillihi māḥī al-ẓilāli muthaqqafā_

Nothing of the best of mankind, Muhammad, was seen except his shadow—the one who erases shadows and refines the soul.

**17.** بِغَارِ حِرَاءٍ قَــــــدْ أَتَتْــهُ رِسَالَــــةٌ / مِنَ اللّٰهِ مَهْمَـــــا جَــــاءَهُ مُتَعَكِّفَـــا

_Bi-ghāri Ḥirā’in qad atat-hu risālatun / min Allāhi mahmā jā’ahu mutaʿakkifā_

In the Cave of Hira, the message came to him from Allah while he was devoted in seclusion.

**18.** فَجَاءَ نَذِيرًا دَاعِيًـــــــا وَمُبَشِّـــرًا / وَأَرْشَدَ مَنْ قَدْ كَانَ قَبْلُ تَعَسَّفَــــا

_Fa-jā’a nadhīran dāʿiyan wa-mubashshiran / wa-arshada man qad kāna qablu taʿassafā_

So he came as a warner, a caller, and a bearer of glad tidings, guiding those who had previously wandered in error.

**19.** وَصَلَّى وَصَامَ الصَّيْفَ حَجَّ مُجَاهِدًا / وَزَكَّى وَشَادَ الدِّينَ وَالْكَـــوْنَ ثَقَّفَــا

_Wa-ṣallā wa-ṣāma al-ṣayfa ḥajja mujāhidan / wa-zakkā wa-shāda al-dīna wa-l-kawna thaqqafā_

He prayed, fasted in the summer heat, performed the pilgrimage as a striver, gave zakat, built the religion, and enlightened the universe.

**20.** وَجَاهَدَ فِهْرًا عِنْدَ بَدْرٍ مُحَمَّــــــدٌ / وَجِبْرِيلُ أَوْ مِيكَالُ فِيــهِ تَكَشَّفَـــا

_Wa-jāhada Fihran ʿinda Badrin Muḥammadun / wa-Jibrīlu aw Mīkālu fīhi takashshafā_

Muhammad struggled against the clan of Fihr at Badr, where Gabriel and Michael revealed themselves to assist.

**21.** كَذَالِكَ إِسْرَافِيلُ جَـــاءَ مُبَــــارِزًا / كَذَلِكَ عَزْرَائِيلُ لِلْحَـــــرْبِ لَفَّفَـــا

_Kadhalika Isrāfīlu jā’a mubārizan / kadhalika ʿAzrā’īlu lil-ḥarbi laffafā_

Likewise, Seraphiel came to join the fray, and Azrael gathered for the battle.

**22.** بِخَمْسَـــــةِ آلاَفٍ أَتَـــوْهُ بِشَــــــارَةً / وَنَاصِرُهُ مَوْلَى الْبَرَايَا وَقَدْ كَفَى

_Bi-khamsati ālāfin ataw-hu bishāratan / wa-nāṣiruhu mawlā al-barāyā wa-qad kafā_

They came to him with five thousand angels as a glad tiding, and his Supporter—the Lord of all beings—was sufficient.

**23.** أَبُو بَكْرٍ الْعَالِي الْإِمَــــامُ وَسَيِّـــدِي / أَبُو حَفْصٍ الْفَارُوقُ حِبِّيَ مَنْ صَفَـا

_Abū Bakrin al-ʿālī al-imāmu wa-sayyidī / Abū Ḥafṣin al-Fārūqu ḥibbī man ṣafā_

Abu Bakr the exalted, the Imam and my master; and Abu Hafs al-Faruq, my beloved who is pure of heart.

**24.** وَعُثْمَانُ ذُو النُّورَينِ وَالصِّنْوُ قَدْ أَتَى / عَلِـيٌّ أَبُو السِّبْطَيْنِ كَاللَّيْــــثِ مُشْرِفَــا

_Wa-ʿUthmānu dhū al-nūrayni wa-l-ṣinwu qad atā / ʿAliyyun abū al-sibṭayni ka-l-laythi mushrifā_

And Uthman, the Possessor of Two Lights; and the brother-in-law Ali, the father of the two grandsons, appearing like a majestic lion.

**25.** وَطَلْحَةُ سَعْدٌ وَالزُّبَيْـــــرُ سَعِيدُهُــــمْ / وَنَجْلٌ لِعَوْفٍ ثُمَّ عَامِرُ مَـــنْ وَفَـــى

_Wa-Ṭalḥatu Saʿdun wa-l-Zubayru Saʿīduhum / wa-najlun li-ʿAwfin thumma ʿĀmiru man wafā_

And Talhah, Sa'd, al-Zubayr, and Sa'id; and the son of Awf, then Amir—those who were faithful to the promise.

**26.** فَيَا قَبْرَ جَمْــعِ الْكَافِـرِيــنَ جَمِيعِهِــمْ / قَدْ أَرْضَيْتُمُ الْمَولَى بِنُصْرَةِ مُصْطَفَى

_Fa-yā qabra jamʿi al-kāfirīna jamīʿahim / qad arḍaytumu al-Mawlā bi-nuṣrati Muṣṭafā_

O grave that gathered all the disbelievers together, you (the companions) have pleased the Lord by supporting the Chosen One.

**27.** بِكَسْرِكُمُ الْأَصْنَـــامَ جَبْــــرُ قُلُوبِنَـــا / وَشِدْتُمْ مَنَارَ الْحَقِّ أَعْلَى وَأَشْرَفَــا

_Bi-kasrikumu al-aṣnāma jabru qulūbinā / wa-shidtumu manāra al-ḥaqqi aʿlā wa-ashrafā_

By your breaking of the idols, our hearts were mended, and you built the lighthouse of Truth at its highest and most noble point.

**28.** أَيَا اللّٰهُ يَا رَحْمَـانُ يَا حَــيُّ وَاهِبِــي / أَقِمْ بِيَ أَرْكَانًــــا لِدِينِــــكَ ذَا اقْتِفَـــا

_Ayā Allāhu yā Raḥmānu yā ḥayyu wāhibī / aqim bī arkānan li-dīnika dhā qtifā_

O Allah, O Most Merciful, O Ever-Living Giver, establish through me the pillars of Your religion through following his path.

**29.** أُرَجِّي بِرَبِّ الْبَيْتِ مِنْكَ تَدَارُكًــــا / لِقَرْنِي وَأَرْجُو الدَّهْرَ مِنْكَ تَعَطُّفَــا

_Urajjī bi-Rabbi al-bayti minka tadārukan / li-qarnī wa-arjū al-dahra minka taʿaṭṭufā_

By the Lord of the House, I hope for Your intervention in my time, and I seek Your kindness throughout the ages.

**30.** رَجَائِي كَبِيرٌ وَاسِـــعٌ دُونَ فَضْلِــهِ / أَيَا رَبِّ فَضْلاً مِنْكَ لُطْفًـــا تَلَطُّفَــا

_Rajā’ī kabīrun wāsiʿun dūna faḍlihi / ayā Rabbi faḍlan minka luṭfan talaṭṭufā_

My hope is great and vast before His grace; O Lord, grant me favor and gentle kindness.

**31.** فَلاَ رَاحَةٌ لِلْعَبْدِ فِــي غَيْــرِ نَيْلِـــهِ / مَطَالِبَ وَافَتْ بَحْرَ جُــودٍ مُنَيِّفَـــا

_Falā rāḥatun lil-ʿabdi fī ghayri naylihi / maṭāliba wāfat baḥra jūdin munayyafā_

There is no rest for the servant except in attaining his goals which have reached the sea of Your supreme generosity.

**32.** بِجَاهِ رَسُولِ اللّٰهِ حَقِّـــقْ رَجَاءَنَــا / فَنَقْفُو لَهُـمْ آثَارَ صِـــدْقٍ وَنُقْتَفَــى

_Bi-jāhi Rasūli Allāhi ḥaqqiq rajā’anā / fa-naqfū lahum āthāra ṣidqin wa-nuqtafā_

By the rank of the Messenger of Allah, fulfill our hopes, so that we may follow their path of truth and be followed ourselves.

**33.** وَجَاهِهِمُ عِنْدَ الْإِلَــهِ وَجَاهِ مَـنْ / أَتَى بَعْدَهُمْ فِي قَفْوِ آثَارِ مُقْتَفَــى

_Wa-jāhihim ʿinda al-ilāhi wa-jāhi man / atā baʿdahum fī qafwi āthāri muqtafā_

By their rank with God, and the rank of those who came after them, following in the footsteps of those who preceded.

**34.** عَلَيْهِ صَلاَةُ رَبِّـــهِ حَــقَّ قَــدْرِهِ / وَآلٍ وَأَصْحَابٍ وَمَنْ قَدْ تَحَنَّفَا

_ʿAlayhi ṣalātu Rabbihi ḥaqqa qadrihi / wa-ālin wa-aṣḥābin wa-man qad taḥannafā_

Upon him be the blessings of his Lord as is his true due, and upon his Family, his Companions, and whoever turns toward the true faith.
