دَعَانِيَ مِنْ تَذْكَارِ سَلْمَى وَتَنْـــدَمِ
فَإِنَّ جَمَالَ الْهَاشِمِــــي مُتَرَدَّمِـــي

Daʿāniya min tadhkāri Salmā wa-Tandami
fa-inna jamāla al-Hāshimiyyi mutaraddamī

Leave me be from the remembrance of Salma and Tandam, for the beauty of the Hashemite is my sanctuary and refuge.

إِذَا أَطْرَبَ الْأَقْوَامَ مَلْهًى وَمَطْمَعٌ
طَرِبْتُ بِذِكْرِ الْهَاشِمِـــيِّ الْمُكَــرَّمِ

Idhā aṭraba al-aqwāma malhan wa-maṭmaʿun
ṭaribtu bi-dhikri al-Hāshimiyyi al-mukarrami

When amusement and worldly desire delight other peoples, I find my delight in the remembrance of the honored Hashemite.

أَنِيسِي إِذَا أَخْلُـــــوا جَمَالُ مُحَمَّدٍ
حَبِيبِ إِلَــهِ الْعَالَمِيـــــنَ الْمُعَظَّـــمِ

Anīsī idhā akhlaw jamālu Muḥammadin
ḥabībi ilāhi al-ʿālamīna al-muʿaẓẓami

My companion when I am alone is the beauty of Muhammad, the exalted beloved of the God of the worlds.

فَـعَبْدٌ تَجَلَّـــى سَيِّدَ الْكَـــوْنِ يَـــا لَهُ
تَحَيَّرَ فِيـــهِ خَاطِــــرُ الْمُتَجَمْجِـــمِ

Fa-ʿabdun tajallā sayyida al-kawni yā lahu
taḥayyara fīhi khāṭiru al-mutajamjimi

What a servant he is, who appeared as the master of the universe! The thoughts of the most eloquent thinkers are bewildered by him.

خَوَارِقُهُ يُعْيِي الْعَوَالِـــمَ حَصْرُهَـا
وَمَا نَاسَبَتْ قَدْرًا لِطَـــهَ الْمُقَـــدَّمِ

Khawāriquhu yuʿyī al-ʿawālima ḥaṣruhā
wa-mā nāsabat qadran li-Ṭāhā al-muqaddami

The counting of his miracles exhausts the worlds, yet even they do not fully match the true measure of the foremost Taha.

كَفَى مَا أَتَى لِلْأَنْبِيَا مِنْ خَــــوَارِقٍ
وَمَا لاَحَ لِلْأَصْحَابِ فِي كُلِّ مَلْحَمِ

Kafā mā atā lil-anbiyā min khawāriqin
wa-mā lāḥa lil-aṣḥābi fī kulli malḥami

Sufficient are the miracles given to the prophets, and that which appeared to the companions in every fierce battle.

فَمَوْلِــــدُهُ أَعْظِــمْ بِــهِ وَعُلُومُــهُ
وَإِسْرَاؤُهُ بَعْــدَ الْجَمَـــالِ الْمُفَخَّــمِ

Fa-mawliduhu aʿẓim bihi wa-ʿulūmuhu
wa-isrā’uhu baʿda al-jamāli al-mufakhkhami

How great is his birth and his vast sciences, and his Night Journey following his majestic beauty.

وَأَخْلاَقُــهُ عَـــدْلاً وَلِينًــا وَشِـدَّةً
وَعِلْمًا وَجُودًا وَاتِّقَـا كُـــلِّ مَأْثَــمِ

Wa-akhlāquhu ʿadlan wa-līnan wa-shiddatan
wa-ʿilman wa-jūdan wa-ttiqā kulli ma’thami

And his character: in justice, gentleness, and firmness; in knowledge, generosity, and the shunning of every sin.

وَمَا ضَلَّ طَـهَ الْهَاشِمِيُّ وَمَا غَوَى
فَسُورَةَ وَالنَّجْـــــمِ اتْلُــوَنْ وَتَفَهَّــمِ

Wa-mā ḍalla Ṭāhā al-Hāshimiyyu wa-mā ghawā
fa-sūrata wa-l-najmi t-luwan wa-tafahhami

The Hashemite Taha did not stray, nor was he deceived; so recite Surah al-Najm and seek to understand.

تَرَى الْمُصْطَفَى ظَهْرًا وَبَطْنًا وَتَظْفَرَنْ
بِسِــــرٍّ مِـــنْ أَسْـــــرَارِ الْإِلَـــهِ مُكَتَّــــمِ

Tarā al-Muṣṭafā ẓahran wa-baṭnan wa-taẓfaran
bi-sirrin min asrāri al-ilāhi mukattami

You will see the Chosen One, inwardly and outwardly, and you will triumph with a hidden secret from the secrets of God.

تَرَى مَا حَمَانِــي النَّـوْمَ بِالشَّـــوْقِ مُنْشِدًا
"أَلاَ عِــمْ صَبَاحًا أَيُّهَــا الرَّبْعُ وَاسْلَــمِ"

Tarā mā ḥamānī al-nawma bi-sh-shawqi munshidan
"Alā ʿim ṣabāḥan ayyuha al-rabʿu wa-slami"

You will see what kept me from sleep, as I sing in longing: "O dwellings, may you have a good morning and be in peace."

تَـــرَى مَنْظَـــرًا هَـــامَ الْفُـــؤَادُ بِحُبِّـــهِ
فَيُسْلِيــــكَ عَــنْ لَيْلَــى وَمَيْلَـى وَتَنْـدَمِ

Tarā manẓaran hāma al-fu’ādu bi-ḥubbihi
fa-yuslīka ʿan Laylā wa-Maylā wa-Tandami

You will see a sight for whose love the heart wanders, which will console you for Layla, Mayla, and Tandam—

وَهِنْــــدٍ وَدَعْــدٍ أَوْ سُلَيْمَـى وَزَيْنَــبٍ
وَفَاطِـــمَ أَوْ سَلْمَــى أَوْ أَسْمَـا وَمَرْيَـمِ

Wa-Hindin wa-Daʿdin aw Sulaymā wa-Zaynabin
wa-Fāṭima aw Salmā aw Asmā wa-Maryami

And Hind, Da'd, Sulayma, and Zainab; and Fatima, Salma, Asma, and Maryam.

وَقُلْ لِمُلُوكِ الْأَرْضِ نَامَـــتْ عُيُونُهُــمْ
وَهَــا ذَاكَ مُلْــكٌ لاَ يُبَــاعُ بِدِرْهَــــــمِ

Wa-qul li-mulūki al-arḍi nāmat ʿuyūnuhum
wa-hā dhāka mulkun lā yubāʿu bi-dirhami

And say to the kings of the earth whose eyes have slept: Behold, this is a kingdom that cannot be sold for a single dirham.

دَعَا الْخَلْـــقَ لِلْمَــوْلَى فَمِنْــهُ مُصَــدِّقٌ
وَمِنْهُ جَـــحُودٌ كَــافِـــرٌ لَـــمْ يُسَلِّــــمِ

Daʿā al-khalqa lil-Mawlā fa-minhu muṣaddiqun
wa-minhu jaḥūdun kāfirun lam yusallimi

He called creation to the Lord; among them were those who believed, and among them the ungrateful disbeliever who did not submit.

فَفَـــرَّقَ أَجْنَــــــادَ الْكَتَائِـــــبِ فِيهِـــمُ
يَــــذُوبُ لِأَسْيَــافٍ لَهُــمْ كُـلُّ مِخْــذَمِ

Fa-farraqa ajnāda al-katā’ibi fīhimu
yadhūbu li-asyāfin lahum kullu mikhdhami

So he dispersed the ranks of the battalions among them; every sharp sword melted before their blades.

تَرَاهُـمْ كَأَنَّ الْمَـــوْتَ فِيهِــمْ حَيَاتُهُــمْ
وَأَقْدَمُهُـــــمْ خَيْــرُ الْــوَرَى بِتَبَسُّـــمِ

Tarāhum ka-anna al-mawta fīhim ḥayātuhum
wa-aqdamuhum khayru al-warā bi-tabassumi

You see them as if death to them were their very life, while the Best of Mankind leads them forward with a smile.

إِذَا مَا وَطِيسٌ قَدْ حَمِي لَيْسَ قَائِمًا
مَقَامَكَ شَفْرٌ وَسْطَ جَيْشٍ عَرَمْرَمِ

Idhā mā waṭīsun qad ḥamiya laysa qā’iman
maqāmaka shafrun wasṭa jayshin ʿaramrami

When the "oven of war" (Al-Watis) heats up, no blade can stand in your place amidst a massive army.

فَأَشْجَـــعُ خَلْــقِ اللّٰهِ طَـــهَ مُحَمَّــــدٌ
وَأَسْخَاهُمُ نَفْسًـــا لَدَى كُــلِّ مَغْنَــمِ

Fa-ashjaʿu khalqi Allāhi Ṭāhā Muḥammadun
wa-askhāhumu nafsan ladā kulli maghnami

For the bravest of Allah’s creation is Taha Muhammad, and the most generous of soul when any spoils are gathered.

فَأَقْلِـــــلْ بِدُنْيَــا النَّاسِ عِنْــدَ نَبِيِّنَــا
فَسِيَّانِ وَقْتُ الْوَجْـدِ أَوْ وَقْتُ مَعْـدَمِ

Fa-aqlil bi-dunyā al-nāsi ʿinda nabiyyinā
fa-siyyāni waqtu al-wajdi aw waqtu maʿdami

How insignificant is the world of men compared to our Prophet; for him, a time of finding is the same as a time of lacking.

فَيُعْطِي وَلاَ يُبْقِي وَغَيْــرَ مُنَقِّـصٍ
تَرَى عَكَرًا يُعْطِـــي بِوَجْـهٍ مُقَسَّــمِ

Fa-yuʿṭī wa-lā yubqī wa-ghayra munaqqiṣin
tarā ʿakaran yuʿṭī bi-wajhin muqassami

He gives and keeps nothing back, without ever diminishing; you see him giving abundance with a radiant, joyful face.

أَتَيْتُكَ يَـــا خَيْـــرَ الْبَرِيَّـــةِ أَبْتَغِــي
مَنَالاً جَسِيمًـا مِــنْ جَـــوَادٍ مُقَسِّــمِ

Ataytuka yā khayra al-bariyyati abtaghī
manālan jasīman min jawādin muqassimi

I have come to you, O Best of Creation, seeking a massive favor from a generous distributor.

وَتَعْلَمُ حَاجَــــاتِ الْعُبَيْــدِ جَمِيعَهَــا
أَرَانِي اسْتَلَمْتُ الْكُلَّ مِنْ خَيْرِ مَسْلَمِ

Wa-taʿlamu ḥājāti al-ʿubaydi jamīʿahā
arāni stalamtu al-kulla min khayri maslami

And you know all the needs of this little servant; I see that I have received everything from the best of sources.

عَلَيْــهِ صَـلاَةُ اللّٰهِ مَـا حَـنَّ عَاشِــقٌ
وَمَا نِيلَ حَاجَــاتٌ بِطَــهَ الْمُكَــرَّمِ

ʿAlayhi ṣalātu Allāhi mā ḥanna ʿāshiqun
wa-mā nīla ḥājātun bi-Ṭāhā al-mukarrami

Upon him be the blessings of Allah as long as a lover yearns, and as long as needs are fulfilled through the honored Taha.

وَآلٍ وَأَصْحَــــــابٍ كِــرَامٍ أَجِلَّــةٍ
نُجُومِ الْـهُـدَى فِي كُلِّ بَـدْءٍ وَمَخْتَــمِ

Wa-ālin wa-aṣḥābin kirāmin ajillatin
nujūmi al-hudā fī kulli bad’in wa-makhtami

And upon his Family and noble, illustrious Companions—the stars of guidance in every beginning and every end.
