Harfuth Thaa ·
From Ad-Dawaawiinu s-Sitta · الدواوين الست by Sheikh Ibrahim Nyass
Dhimāmun wafiyyun lā yakhūnu wa-yankuthu
Dhimāmaka khayra al-nāsi fīhi sayamkuthu
A faithful covenant that does not betray nor break; your covenant, O best of people, is where it shall remain.
Ajirnī fa-inna al-qalba ẓalla bi-waḥshatin
Wa-lastu urā fī ghayri ḥubbika abḥathu
Grant me refuge, for the heart has remained in a state of loneliness, and I am not seen searching for anything other than your love.
Fa-inna iltifāta al-qalbi waqtan li-ghayrihi
‘Adhābun shadīdun lastu arḍāhu yaḥduthu
For the heart’s turning for even a moment toward another is a severe torment that I do not wish to happen.
Ajirnī ajirnī yā ḥabībī fa-innanī
Ḍa‘īfun ḥaqīrun fī thanā’ika yalbathu
Grant me refuge, grant me refuge, O my beloved, for I am weak and insignificant, lingering only in your praise.
‘Alayka ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu
Wa-ālin wa-ṣaḥbin ‘ahdahum laysa yankuthu
Upon you be the prayer of Allah and then His peace, and upon the family and companions who never break their covenant.
