# Harful Dhaal · حَرْفُ الذَّالِ

**1.** تَذَكَّرْتُ خَيْرَ النَّاسِ طَـــهَ مَــنْ أَنْفَذَا / مَقَاتِـــلَ أَعْدَائِـــــي وَأَمْــرِيَ نَفَّـــذَا

_Tadhakkartu khayra al-nāsi Ṭāhā man anfadhā / Maqātila a‘dā’ī wa-amriya naffadhā_

I remembered the best of mankind, Taha, who pierced the vital points of my enemies and executed my affairs.

**2.** تَذَكَّرْتُــهُ فِـي حَالَتِـــي شَاكِيًـا لَـــهُ / شُؤُونًا عَرَتْنِي لاَ أَرَى الْغَيْرَ مُنْقِذَا

_Tadhakkartuhu fī ḥālatī shākiyan lahu / Shu’ūnan ‘aratnī lā arā al-ghayra munqidhā_

I remembered him while I was in a state of complaining to him about matters that had beset me, for I see no other as a rescuer.

**3.** عَلَيْــهِ صَـــــلاَةُ اللّٰهِ ثُـــمَّ سَلاَمُـــهُ / صَــلاَةً تَقِينِي مَنْ يُرِيدُ بِيَ الْأَذَى

_‘Alayhi ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu / Ṣalātan taqīnī man yurīdu biya al-adhā_

Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace, a prayer that protects me from whoever intends to harm me.

**4.** عَلَيْـــهِ صَـــلاَةُ اللّٰهِ ثُــمَّ سَلاَمُـــهُ / وَآلٍ وَصَحْبٍ أَنْقَذُونِـيَ مِنْ أَذَى

_‘Alayhi ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu / Wa-ālin wa-ṣaḥbin anqadhūnī min adhā_

Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace, and upon the family and companions who rescued me from harm.
