_Ujīru li-man ya’wī ilayya li-annanī / Khadīmun li-Ṭāhā al-Hāshimiyyi ajīru_

I grant refuge to whoever seeks it from me, for I am a servant and a protégé of the Hashemite Taha.

_Asīru li-fakkī lil-asārā li-annanī / Ladā ḥaḍrati al-Māḥī al-ḍalāli asīru_

I march to liberate the captives, for I am a captive within the presence of the Eraser of misguidance.

_Amīrun li-kulli al-musnitīna li-annamā / Ḥabībī wa-mamdūḥī al-jalīlu amīru_

I am a leader for all who suffer drought, because my beloved and the one I praise is the Exalted Leader.

_Naṣīru idhā khāfū bi-amnin fa-rabbunā / Li-Ṭāhā wa-man ya’wī ilayhi naṣīru_

I am a helper whenever they fear; our Lord is the Helper of Taha and whoever seeks refuge in him.

_Fa-shawqī ilā ‘abdi al-ilāhi Muḥammadin / Ḥamānī manāmī wad-dumū‘u tafūru_

My longing for the servant of God, Muhammad, has forbidden me from sleep while my tears overflow.

_Wa-unshidu mā qāla al-mutayyamu dā’iman / Wa-qalbī bihi hādī al-‘ibādi bashīru_

I ever chant what the infatuated lover said, while my heart finds glad tidings through the Guide of the servants.

_“A-sirba al-qaṭā hal man yu‘īru janāḥahu / La‘allī ilā man qad hawaytu aṭīru”_

"O flock of sandgrouse, is there one who will lend his wing? Perhaps I might fly to the one for whom I have fallen in love."

_Ukhāṭibu khayra al-nāsi wa-huwa ma‘ī wa-qad / Wajamtu wa-shi‘rī lil-maqāmi yushīru_

I address the Best of Mankind while he is with me; I am struck with awe and my poetry points to his high station.

_Tarānī wa-innī ghā’ibun fīhi ḥāḍiran / Wa-fāta lisānan mā takinnu ṣudūru_

You see me—though I am vanished in him—present; my tongue fails to express what my chest conceals.

_Fa-bay‘ī wa-ḥarthī thumma kasbī bi-dhikrihi / Wa-dhālika bay‘un lā tarāhu yabūru_

My commerce, my harvest, and my profit are through his remembrance; that is a trade you will never see perish.

_Ghanītu bi-madḥi al-Muṣṭafā wa-widādihi / Bihi bāna hadyī wal-fu’ādu baṣīru_

I have become wealthy through the praise and affection of the Chosen One; through him my guidance appeared and my heart became perceptive.

_Muḥammadu Maḥmūdun wa-Aḥmadu Muṣṭafā / Muqaffā Amīnun ‘Āqibun wa-Munīru_

Muhammad is the Praised One, Ahmad is the Chosen, the Successor, the Trustworthy, the Final, and the Illuminator.

_Wa-Aḥmadu Mukhtārun Raḥīmun wa-Ḥāshir / Sirājun Bashīrun Ḥāmidun wa-Nadhīru_

Ahmad is the Elect, the Merciful, the Assembler, the Lamp, the Bringer of Tidings, the Praiser, and the Warner.

_‘Alayhi ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu / Li-yashfa‘a fiyya yawma al-samā’u tamūru_

Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace, that he may intercede for me on the day the sky is in commotion.

_Tasattartu ‘āmī fī ẓilālika nāṣirī / Fa-dāmat sutūrī idh tuzālu sutūru_

I have sought cover this year in your shadows, my helper; so my veils remained as others' veils were removed.

_Ujāwiruhu wa-huwa al-wazīru li-khāliqī / Fa-niltu jiwāran fal-wazīru yujīru_

I am his neighbor, and he is the Intermediary (Vizier) to my Creator; so I attained neighborly protection, and the Vizier grants refuge.

_Ughādī lada al-Māḥī ṣabūḥa wiṣālihi / Fa-dāma surūrī wal-shurūru taṭīru_

I start my mornings with the morning-drink of union with the Eraser; thus my joy remained while evils flew away.

_Idhā ṭaribū min dhikri Salmā wa-Fartanā / Falī fī madīḥi al-Hāshimiyyi ḥubūru_

While others are moved by the mention of Salma and Fartana, I find my delight in the praise of the Hashemite.

_Anistu bihi yawmī wa-ansiju madḥahu / Fa-yawmī bi-yumni al-Hāshimiyyi qaṣīru_

I find intimacy with him throughout my day and I weave his praise; so my day, by the blessing of the Hashemite, is short.

_Wa-laylī min qurbī ilayhi maladh-dhatun / Bihi ṭāba a‘wāmī wa-ṭāba shuhūru_

My night, through my proximity to him, is a delight; through him my years and my months have become sweet.

_Maḥawtu bihi ‘izza al-ulā yakhdhulūnanī / Li-rabbī umūru al-‘ālamīna taṣīru_

Through him, I erased the "glory" of those who would fail me; to my Lord all affairs of the worlds return.

_Alā layta shi‘rī hal yarā al-nāsu mā arā / Wa-lākin ṣudūru al-‘ārifīna qubūru_

O, if only I knew whether people see what I see; but the chests of the gnostics are graves (for secrets).

_Maḥā al-Muṣṭafā mā qad ra’aytum wa-innahu / Atā bi-sirājin fī al-bilādi yunīru_

The Chosen One erased what you have seen, and indeed he came with a lamp that illuminates the lands.

_Alam yaqṣimi al-‘urba al-mufakh-khamu amruhā / Wa-adh‘ana ‘ujmun wal-fu’ādu qarīru_

Did he not break the Arabs whose affairs were once so formidable? And the non-Arabs submitted while the heart was at peace.

_Sali al-‘urba ‘an Badrin wa-Fatḥin wa-Khandaqin / Madhāquhum fī dhī al-ḥurūbi marīru_

Ask the Arabs about Badr, the Conquest, and the Trench; their taste in these wars was bitter.

_Wa-qad rā‘ahum fī baṭni Makkata khayluhu / Liwā’u nadhīri al-khalqi fawqu yaṭīru_

His cavalry terrified them in the heart of Mecca, while the banner of the Warner of creation flew high above.

_Wa-ṣāḥibuhu al-shahmu al-humāmu wazīruhu / ‘Atīqun ladā al-ārā’i fa-huwa mushīru_

His companion is the noble and brave one, his Vizier (Abu Bakr); the ancient one in wisdom who is the counselor.

_Wa-thālithuhum badru al-dujā ṣārimu al-‘idā / Ḥabībī wa-dhā lil-mu’minīna amīru_

The third of them is the moon of the darkness and the sharp edge against enemies (Umar), my beloved and the leader of the believers.

_Wa-‘Uthmānu dhū al-nūrayni ḥāfiẓu dhikrihi / Wa-qad tamma minhu lil-Amīni burūru_

And Uthman, the possessor of the two lights, the guardian of his remembrance; through him, loyalty to the Trustworthy one was perfected.

_Wa-ṣinwu Rasūli Allāhi laythu ‘idā’ihi / Fa-kullu kamiyyin qad atāhu jazūru_

And the cousin/brother of the Messenger of Allah, the lion against his enemies (Ali); every brave warrior became like slaughtered meat before him.

_Bi-sirrihim yā rabbi fanfi kurūbanā / ‘Alā raghmi man huwa lil-‘ibādi gharūru_

By their secret, O Lord, remove our distress, despite the one who is a deceiver to the servants.

_Ayā sayyidī sal khāliqī naṣra dīnihi / Fa-anta ḥaqīqun bil-su’āli jadīru_

O my Master, ask my Creator for the victory of His religion; for you are truly worthy and deserving of the request.

_Wa-rabbī jadīrun bil-‘aṭā’i wa-innahu / ‘Alā kulli shay’in shā’ahu la-qadīru_

My Lord is worthy of giving; indeed, He is powerful over everything He wills.

_Fa-ḥaqqa lanā al-bushrā wa-dāma surūrunā / Bi-faḍli ilāhī fal-ilāhu shakūru_

We are entitled to glad tidings and our joy has remained, by the grace of my God; for God is most appreciative.

_Yu‘azzizu man qad shā’a wa-huwa yudhilluhu / Fa-minhu al-‘aṭā wal-man‘u wa-huwa khabīru_

He strengthens whomever He wills and He humbles him; from Him is the giving and the withholding, and He is the Expert.

_Fa-a‘ṭā Rasūla Allāhi wa-huwa ḥabībuhu / Fa-kullu kabīrin ‘indahu la-ṣaghīru_

He gave to the Messenger of Allah, for he is His beloved; so every great thing, compared to him, is small.

_Abūhu khalīlun wa-huwa Mūsā kalīmuhu / Wa-‘Īsā wa-huwa rūḥun wa-Nūḥu shakūru_

His father was the Intimate (Abraham), and he is Moses the Interlocutor, and Jesus who is a spirit, and the grateful Noah.

_Wa-mā kabni ‘abdi Allāhi fīhim jamī‘ihim / Fa-qad ḍanna ‘an shibhi al-Amīni duhūru_

But none among them is like the son of Abdullah; for the ages have been stingy in producing a likeness of the Trustworthy one.

_Wa-kulluhum baḥrun mina al-‘ilmi zākhirun / Wa-kullun ladā baḥri al-Amīni ghadīru_

Each of them is a surging sea of knowledge, yet each is but a small pond compared to the sea of the Trustworthy one.

_Fa-shamsuhumu khayru al-anāmi wa-kulluhum / Kawākibuhu wasṭa al-ṣafā’i tadūru_

Their sun is the Best of Mankind, while all of them are his stars revolving in the midst of purity.

_‘Alayhi ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu / Yatimmu bihā lī fī al-ṣalāti ḥuḍūru_

Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace; through it, my presence in prayer becomes complete.

_‘Alayhi ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu / Yadūmu li-khayri al-nāsi minhā surūru_

Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace; through it, joy for the Best of Mankind remains eternal.

_‘Alayhi ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu / Ila Allāhi lī kulla al-zamāni masīru_

Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace; toward Allah is my journey at all times.

_‘Alayhi ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu / Bihā yujbaru al-islāmu wa-huwa kasīru_

Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace; through it, Islam is mended while it was broken.

_‘Alayhi ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu / Rajā’ī ladā khayru al-anāmi kabīru_

Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace; my hope in the Best of Mankind is great.

_‘Alayhi ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu / Fa-qablī nāla al-mādiḥīna quṣūru_

Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace; before me, previous praisers attained their own high palaces.

_‘Alayhi ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu / Qalīlu madīḥi al-Hāshimiyyi kathīru_

Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace; the "little" praise of the Hashemite is actually a great deal.

_‘Alayhi ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu / Atāka ‘ubaydun ‘ājizun wa-faqīru_

Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace; a helpless and poor little servant has come to you.

_‘Alayhi ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu / Mina al-‘abdi Ibrāhīma wa-huwa ḥaqīru_

Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace; from the servant Ibrahim, who is lowly.

_‘Alayhi ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu / Khadīmun ḍa‘īfu al-ḥāli wa-huwa waqīru_

Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace; a servant weak in state and heavily burdened.

_‘Alayka ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu / Fa-fi‘lī qabīḥun wal-raqību baṣīru_

Upon you be the prayer of Allah and then His peace; for my actions are ugly, and the Watcher is all-seeing.

_‘Alayka ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu / Fa-lā darranī ‘inda al-jalīli quṣūru_

Upon you be the prayer of Allah and then His peace; my praise is a pointer to the love of the Hashemite.

_‘Alayhi ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu / Gharāmī wa-tehyāmī ‘alayya amīru_

Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace; and upon the family and companions, who are moons for the guided.

_‘Alayhi ṣalātu Allāhi mā qāla khādimun / Khadīmun li-Ṭāhā al-Hāshimiyyi ajīru_

Upon him be the prayer of Allah as long as a servant says: I am a servant and a protégé of the Hashemite Taha.
