# Harfus Siin · حَرْفُ السِّينِ

**1.** مَلاَ الْقَلْبَ حُبُّ المُصْطَفَــى وَتَنَافُسِي / مَدَى الدَّهْرِ فِي وَصْلِيهِ وَهْوَ مُجَالِسِي

_Malā al-qalba ḥubbu al-Muṣṭafā wa-tanāfusī / Madā al-dahri fī waṣlayhi wa-huwa mujālisī_

The love of the Chosen One has filled my heart, and my competition throughout time is for union with him, for he is my sitting-companion.

**2.** تَطَوَّفْتُ فِي الْآفَاقِ طَالِبَ وَصْلِـــهِ / وَشَدَّ اغْتِرَابِي وَالْأَمِينُ مُؤَانِسِـــي

_Taṭawwaftu fī al-āfāqi ṭāliba waṣlihi / Wa-shadda ightirābī wal-Amīnu mu’ānisī_

I wandered through the horizons seeking union with him; my estrangement grew intense, yet the Trustworthy one was my intimate friend.

**3.** فَلَيْسَ رَجَائِي فِي تَمَامِ وِصَالِـــهِ / قَوِيًّا وَإِنِّي عَنْـــهُ لَسْتُ بِيَائِــسِ

_Fa-laysa rajā’ī fī tamāmi wiṣālihi / Qawiyyan wa-innī ‘anhu lastu bi-yā’isi_

My hope for the perfection of union with him is not strong [due to my shortcomings], yet I am not one who despairs of it.

**4.** عَلَيْهِ صَــــلاَةُ اللّٰهِ ثُـــمَّ سَلاَمُـــهُ / وَآلٍ وَأَصْحَابٍ بُدُورِ الْحَنَادِسِ

_‘Alayhi ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu / Wa-ālin wa-asḥābin budūri al-ḥanādisi_

Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace, and upon the family and companions, the moons of the dark nights.
