# Harful 'Ayn · حَرْفُ الْعَيْنِ

**1.** نَعَمْ إِنَّ خَيْرَ النَّاسِ أَرْجُوهُ شَافِعَا / لِنَفْسِي وَلِلْأَهْلِينَ إِذْ جِئْتُ خَاشِعَا

_Na‘am inna khayra al-nāsi arjūhu shāfi‘ā / Li-nafsī wa-lil-ahlīna idh ji’tu khāshi‘ā_

Yes, indeed, the best of mankind is the one I hope for as an intercessor for myself and my family, as I have come in a state of humility.

**2.** إِلَى كُلِّ خَلْــقِ اللّٰهِ أَوْصَلْــتَ نِعْمَـــةً / وَإِنِّي وَحَقِّ الْمُصْطَفَى لَسْتُ قَابِعَا

_Ilā kulli khalqi Allāhi awṣalta ni‘matan / Wa-innī wa-ḥaqqi al-Muṣṭafā lastu qābi‘ā_

To every single one of Allah’s creations, you have delivered a blessing; and by the truth of the Chosen One, I am not one to remain hidden or idle.

**3.** حَقِيرٌ ذَلِيلٌ مُذْنِـــــبٌ خَــــادِمٌ لَكُـــمْ / مُحِبٌّ شَدِيدُ الْحُبِّ قَدْ جَاءَ خَاضِعَا

_Ḥaqīrun dhalīlun mudhnibun khādimun lakum / Muḥibbun shadīdu al-ḥubbi qad jā’a khāḍi‘ā_

A lowly, humble, sinful servant of yours; a lover of intense love who has come submissively.

**4.** أَجِرْنِي أَجِرْنِــــي مُنْحَمِنَّا أَحِمْطَــيَا / فَلَمْ أَلْقَ يَوْمَ الرَّوْعِ مَا كُنْتُ صَانِعَا

_Ajirnī ajirnī Munḥaminnā Aḥimṭayā / Fa-lam alqa yawma al-raw‘i mā kuntu ṣāni‘ā_

Grant me refuge, grant me refuge, O Munhaminna, O Ahimtya; for on the Day of Terror, I find nothing in my own deeds to rely on.

**5.** عَلَيْكَ صَـــــلاَةُ اللّٰهِ ثُــــمَّ سَلاَمُـــهُ / صَلاَةً بِهَا أُمْسِي لِدِينِــــكَ رَافِعَـــا

_‘Alayka ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu / Ṣalātan bihā umsī li-dīnika rāfi‘ā_

Upon you be the prayer of Allah and then His peace; a prayer through which I become an exalter of your religion.

**6.** عَلَيْكَ صَـــــلاَةُ اللّٰهِ ثُــــمَّ سَلاَمُـــهُ / أَسُودُ لَدَيْكَ الْمَادِحِيـنَ الْمَصَاقِعَـــا

_‘Alayka ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu / Asūdu ladayka al-mādiḥīna al-maṣāqi‘ā_

Upon you be the prayer of Allah and then His peace; may I surpass, in your presence, even the most eloquent of praisers.

**7.** عَلَيْهِ مَعَ الْآلِ الْكِــرَامِ وَصَحْبِــهِ / صَــلاَةٌ وَتَسْلِيمٌ وَمَنْ كَانَ تَابِعَـا

_‘Alayhi ma‘a al-āli al-kirāmi wa-ṣaḥbihi / Ṣalātun wa-taslīmun wa-man kāna tābi‘ā_

Upon him, along with the noble family and his companions, be prayer and peace, and upon whoever follows them.
