Harful Kaaf · حَرْفُ الْكَافِ

كَفَانِي عَلَى الْعِلاَّتِ أَنِّيَ سَالِـــكُ
بِحُبِّي لِمَنْ يَنْمِيهِ فِهْـــرٌ وَمَالِـكُ

Kafānī ‘ala al-‘illāti anniya sāliku
Bi-ḥubbī li-man yanmīhi Fihrun wa-Māliku

It is enough for me, despite my ailments, that I am a wayfarer, through my love for the one whose lineage traces back to Fihr and Malik.

لِكُلِّ فَتًى حُــبٌّ وَقَصْـــدٌ وَمَفْخَــرٌ
وَإِنِّي بِحُبِّ الْـهَاشِمِي الدَّهْرَ مَاسِكُ

Li-kulli fatan ḥubbun wa-qaṣdun wa-mafkharu
Wa-innī bi-ḥubbi al-Hāshimiyyi al-dahra māsiku

Every young man has a love, a goal, and a source of pride; and I, throughout all time, am holding fast to the love of the Hashemite.

فَشُغْلِي مَدِيحُ الْمُصْطَفَى وَوِدَادُهُ
سَبِيلِي الَّذِي مَا عِشْتُ إِنِّيَ سَالِكُ

Fa-shughlī madīḥu al-Muṣṭafā wa-widāduhu
Sabīlī alladhī mā ‘ishtu inniya sāliku

My occupation is the praise of the Chosen One and his affection; that is my path upon which I travel as long as I live.

عَلَيْـــهِ صَــلاَةُ اللّٰهِ ثُــمَّ سَلاَمُـــهُ
يُدَارِكُنِي الْمَوْلَى وَقَرْنِي أُدَارِكُ

‘Alayhi ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu
Yudārikunī al-mawlā wa-qarnī udāriku

Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace; through it, the Master reaches me and I reach my peers (or my era).

عَلَيْــهِ صَـــلاَةُ اللّٰهِ ثُـــمَّ سَلاَمُـــهُ
وَآلٍ وَأَصْحَابٍ هَدَوْا وَتَدَارَكُوا

‘Alayhi ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu
Wa-ālin wa-aṣḥābin hadaw wa-tadārakū

Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace, and upon the family and companions who guided and reached their goals.
