# Harful Kaaf · حَرْفُ الْكَافِ

**1.** كَفَانِي عَلَى الْعِلاَّتِ أَنِّيَ سَالِـــكُ / بِحُبِّي لِمَنْ يَنْمِيهِ فِهْـــرٌ وَمَالِـكُ

_Kafānī ‘ala al-‘illāti anniya sāliku / Bi-ḥubbī li-man yanmīhi Fihrun wa-Māliku_

It is enough for me, despite my ailments, that I am a wayfarer, through my love for the one whose lineage traces back to Fihr and Malik.

**2.** لِكُلِّ فَتًى حُــبٌّ وَقَصْـــدٌ وَمَفْخَــرٌ / وَإِنِّي بِحُبِّ الْـهَاشِمِي الدَّهْرَ مَاسِكُ

_Li-kulli fatan ḥubbun wa-qaṣdun wa-mafkharu / Wa-innī bi-ḥubbi al-Hāshimiyyi al-dahra māsiku_

Every young man has a love, a goal, and a source of pride; and I, throughout all time, am holding fast to the love of the Hashemite.

**3.** فَشُغْلِي مَدِيحُ الْمُصْطَفَى وَوِدَادُهُ / سَبِيلِي الَّذِي مَا عِشْتُ إِنِّيَ سَالِكُ

_Fa-shughlī madīḥu al-Muṣṭafā wa-widāduhu / Sabīlī alladhī mā ‘ishtu inniya sāliku_

My occupation is the praise of the Chosen One and his affection; that is my path upon which I travel as long as I live.

**4.** عَلَيْـــهِ صَــلاَةُ اللّٰهِ ثُــمَّ سَلاَمُـــهُ / يُدَارِكُنِي الْمَوْلَى وَقَرْنِي أُدَارِكُ

_‘Alayhi ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu / Yudārikunī al-mawlā wa-qarnī udāriku_

Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace; through it, the Master reaches me and I reach my peers (or my era).

**5.** عَلَيْــهِ صَـــلاَةُ اللّٰهِ ثُـــمَّ سَلاَمُـــهُ / وَآلٍ وَأَصْحَابٍ هَدَوْا وَتَدَارَكُوا

_‘Alayhi ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu / Wa-ālin wa-aṣḥābin hadaw wa-tadārakū_

Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace, and upon the family and companions who guided and reached their goals.
