# Harful Hhaa · حَرْفُ الْهَاءِ

**1.** ظَعَنْتُ إِلَى خَيْرِ الْوَرَى وَأَرَى بِهِ / مُفَــرِّجَ كَـــرْبٍ عَادِمًـــا لِلْمُشَابِــهِ

_Ẓa‘antu ilā khayri al-warā wa-arā bihi / Mufarrija karbin ‘ādiman lil-mushābihi_

I have set out toward the best of creation, seeing in him the reliever of distress, the one who has no equal.

**2.** تَقَطَّعُ عَنْ نَـــالٍ سِــوَاهُ مَطَامِعِـي / وَقَدْ عَضَّنِي هَــذَا الزَّمَانُ بِنَابِـهِ

_Taqaṭ-ṭa‘u ‘an nālin siwāhu maṭāmi‘ī / Wa-qad ‘aḍ-ḍanī hādhā al-zamānu bi-nābihi_

My aspirations for any bounty besides his have been cut off, for this time has bitten me with its fangs.

**3.** إِلَيْكَ رَسُولَ اللّٰهِ أَشْكُـــــو فَإِنَّنِــي / عَدِمْتُ حَمِيمًا أَلْتَجِــي عِنْدَ بَابِـهِ

_Ilayka Rasūla Allāhi ashkū fa-innanī / ‘Adimtu ḥamīman altajī ‘inda bābihi_

To you, O Messenger of Allah, I complain, for I have found no intimate friend; I take refuge at your door.

**4.** إِلَيْــكَ رَسُـولَ اللّٰهِ أَشْكُـو لِغُرْبَتِـــي / وَقَدْ ضَرَّنِي طُولُ الْفِرَاقِ بِصَابِهِ

_Ilayka Rasūla Allāhi ashkū li-ghurbatī / Wa-qad darranī ṭūlu al-firāqi bi-ṣābihi_

To you, O Messenger of Allah, I complain of my estrangement; the long separation has harmed me with its bitterness.

**5.** عَلَيْكَ صَـــلاَةُ اللّٰهِ ثُمَّ سَلاَمُــهُ / وَآلٍ وَأَوْلاَدٍ وَكُـلِّ صِحَابِـهِ

_‘Alayka ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu / Wa-ālin wa-awlādin wa-kulli ṣiḥābihi_

Upon you be the prayer of Allah and then His peace, and upon the family, the children, and all of his companions.
