# Harfuz Za'y · حرف الزاي

**1.** فَإِنَّكَ خَيْــــــرُ النَّاسِ أَنْتَ الْمُبَــارِزُ / لِإِعْلاَءِ دِيــــنِ اللّٰهِ أَنْـــتَ الْمُنَاجِــزُ

_Fa-innaka khayru al-nāsi anta al-mubārizu / Li-i‘lā’i dīni Allāhi anta al-munājizu_

For you are the best of mankind, you are the champion who stands forth to exalt the religion of Allah, and you are the one who fulfills the struggle.

**2.** وَإِنَّكَ أَسْخَى النَّاسِ أَشْجَعُ فَارِسٍ / لِذَا دَانَ مَنْ قَدْ كَـــانَ قَبْلُ يُبَــارِزُ

_Wa-innaka askhā al-nāsi ashja‘u fārisin / Li-dhā dāna man qad kāna qablu yubārizu_

And you are the most generous of people and the bravest horseman; for this reason, those who previously challenged you have now submitted.

**3.** قَسَمْتَ وَلَمْ تَبْخَلْ وَمَا فُـهْتَ كَاذِبًا / وَلَسْتَ جَبَانًا مِنْ عَطَاكَ الْجَوَائِــزُ

_Qasamta wa-lam tabkhal wa-mā fuhta kādhiban / Wa-lasta jabānan min ‘aṭāka al-jawā’izu_

You distributed wealth and were never stingy, and you never uttered a lie; nor are you cowardly in bestowing your rewards.

**4.** وَهَـــذَا عُبَيْدٌ قَــدْ أَتَــــى مُتَكَفِّفًـــا / عَلَى أَنَّهُ بِالْحُـــبِّ وَالْحِــبِّ فَائِــزُ

_Wa-hādha ‘ubaydun qad atā mutakaffifan / ‘Alā annahu bil-ḥubbi wal-ḥibbi fā’izu_

And here is a little servant who has come as a beggar, even though through love and the Beloved, he is already a winner.

**5.** يَرُومُ مَنَالاً قَـــــدْ تَقَاصَــرَ دُونَـــهُ / فُحُولٌ مَضَوْا لاَ غَرْوَ إِذْ هُوَ جَائِزُ

_Yarūmu manālan qad taqāṣara dūnahu / Fuḥūlun maḍaw lā gharwa idh huwa jā’izu_

He aims for an attainment that even the great men of the past fell short of; it is no wonder, for through you, such a thing is possible.

**6.** عَلَيْـــــــكَ صَـــلاَةُ اللّٰهِ ثُـــمَّ سَلاَمُـــهُ / وَآلٍ وَأَصْحَابٍ عَلَى الدِّينِ بَارَزُوا

_‘Alayka ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu / Wa-ālin wa-asḥābin ‘ala al-dīni bārazū_

Upon you be the prayer of Allah and then His peace, and upon the family and companions who stood forth as champions for the religion.
