**1.** زَمَانُ رَسُـــولِ اللّٰهِ خَيْرُ زَمَـــانِ / وَطَيْبَةُ خَيْرِ الْخَلْقِ خَيْرُ مَكَـــانِ

_Zamānu Rasūli Allāhi khayru zamāni / Wa-Ṭaybatu khayri al-khalqi khayru makāni_

The era of the Messenger of Allah is the best of eras; and Tayba (Medina), the home of the best of creation, is the best of places.

**2.** فَمَنْ لِي بِكَأْسٍ مِنْ أَرِيسٍ وَرُومَةٍ / فَشَوْقِي إِلَى تِلْــــكَ الْبِقَاعِ دَهَانِــي

_Fa-man lī bi-ka’sin min Arīsin wa-Rūmatin / Fa-shawqī ilā tilka al-biqā‘i dahānī_

Who will give me a cup from the wells of Aris and Ruma? For my longing for those lands has overcome me.

**3.** فَشَوْقِي إِلَى وَادِي الْعَقِيقِ وَسَلْعِهِ / حَمَانِي مَنَامِـــي فَالْمَنَــامُ جَفَانِـي

_Fa-shawqī ilā wādī al-‘Aqīqi wa-Sal‘ihi / Ḥamānī manāmī fal-manāmu jafānī_

My longing for the valley of al-Aqiq and Mount Sal’ has deprived me of my sleep; thus, sleep has shunned me.

**4.** وَشَوْقِي إِلَى وَادِي النَّقَا وَبَقِيعِهِ / وَلِلصَّخْرَةِ الْمَلْسَا إِلَيْــهِ دَعَانِي

_Wa-shawqī ilā wādī al-Naqā wa-Baqī‘ihi / Wa-lil-ṣakhrati al-malsā ilayhi da‘ānī_

My longing for the valley of al-Naqa and the Baqi’ cemetery, and for the smooth rock, has called me toward him.

**5.** فَهَلْ تَسْمَحُ الْأَيَّامُ يَوْمًا بِعَوْدَةٍ / إِلَيْهَا فَهَاتِي بُغْيَتِي وَأَمَانِــي

_Fa-hal tasmaḥu al-ayyāmu yawman bi-‘awdatin / Ilayhā fa-hāti bughyatī wa-amānī_

Will the days ever permit a return to them? Then bring me my desire and my hope.

**6.** وَهَلْ لِيَ أَنْ أَكْسُو الْعَتِيقَ وَتَكْتَسِي / كَــذَا الْقُبَّةُ الْخَضْـرَاءُ رَوْضُ جِنَانِ

_Wa-hal liya an aksū al-‘atīqa wa-taktasī / Kadhā al-qubbatu al-khaḍrā’u rawḍu jināni_

Shall I ever clothe the Ancient House (the Kaaba) and be clothed in grace? Likewise, the Green Dome, the garden of paradise.

**7.** وَهَلْ لِيَ فُلْكٌ مَاخِرَاتٌ تُقِلُّ مَنْ / يَحُــــجُّ لِبَيْـــتِ اللّٰهِ دُونَ تَــوَانِ

_Wa-hal liya fulkun mākhirātun tuqillu man / Yaḥujju li-bayti Allāhi dūna tawāni_

Shall I ever have ships cleaving the waves, carrying those who perform pilgrimage to the House of Allah without delay?

**8.** وَتُدْنِي لَهُمْ أَرْضَ الْحَبِيبِ قِيَادَتِي / وَقَدْ شِدْتُ بِالْبَطْحَـاءِ كُلَّ مَبَــانِ

_Wa-tudnī lahum arḍa al-ḥabībi qiyādatī / Wa-qad shidtu bil-baṭḥā’i kulla mabāni_

And shall my leadership bring the land of the Beloved closer to them, while I have built every structure in the valley of Makkah?

**9.** عَلَيْـــهِ صَـــلاَةُ اللّٰهِ ثُــمَّ سَلاَمُــهُ / صَلاَةً تَزُجُّ الْعَبْدَ وَسْــطَ جِنَــانِ

_‘Alayhi ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu / Ṣalātan tazujju al-‘abda wasṭa jināni_

Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace; a prayer that thrusts the servant into the midst of paradise.

**10.** عَلَيْهِ صَــــــلاَةُ اللّٰهِ ثُــمَّ سَلاَمُــهُ / تُعَجِّلُ فَتْحِــي وَالْمُنَــى وَالتَّهَانِي

_‘Alayka ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu / Tu‘ajjilu fatḥī wal-munā wat-tahānī_

Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace; may it hasten my opening, my desires, and my congratulations.

**11.** عَلَيْــــهِ صَـــلاَةُ اللّٰهِ ثُــمَّ سَلاَمُــهُ / تُضِيءُ جَنَانِي أَوْ تُضِيءُ مَغَانِي

_‘Alayka ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu / Tuḍī’u janānī aw tuḍī’u maghānī_

Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace; may it illuminate my heart or illuminate my dwellings.

**12.** عَلَيْــهِ صَـــلاَةُ اللّٰهِ ثُـــمَّ سَلاَمُــهُ / تُمَلِّكُنِــي تَصْرِيفَ كُـــلِّ مَعَــانِ

_‘Alayka ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu / Tumallikunī taṣrīfa kulli ma‘āni_

Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace; may it grant me mastery over the manifestation of all spiritual meanings.

**13.** عَلَيْهِ صَــــلاَةُ اللّٰهِ ثُـــمَّ سَلاَمُــهُ / صَــلاَةً تُنَجِّينَـــا بِــدُونِ مُعَــانِ

_‘Alayka ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu / Ṣalātan tunajjīnā bidūni mu‘āni_

Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace; a prayer that saves us without any hardship.

**14.** عَلَيْهِ مَـعَ الْآلِ الْكِرَامِ وَصَحْبِهِ / صَــلاَةٌ وَتَسْلِيمٌ مُرُورَ الزَّمَانِ

_‘Alayhi ma‘a al-āli al-kirāmi wa-ṣaḥbihi / Ṣalātun wa-taslīmun murūra al-zamāni_

Upon him, along with the noble family and his companions, be prayer and peace throughout the passage of time.
