Harful Haa ·
From Ad-Dawaawiinu s-Sitta · الدواوين الست by Sheikh Ibrahim Nyass
Ḥimāyatu hādhā al-‘abdi min kulli ḥā’imi
Maḥabbatu khayri al-khalqi ma’wā al-akārimi
Protection for this servant from every prowling danger is found in the love of the Best of Creation, the refuge of the noble.
Huwa al-baḥru wal-laythu al-jasūru shajā‘atan
Wa-jūdan fa-khayru al-khalqi baḥru al-makārimi
He is the ocean and the daring lion in bravery and in generosity; for the Best of Creation is the sea of noble traits.
Huwa al-shamsu wal-ghaythu al-marī‘u hidāyatan
Wa-badhlan wa-bal-ha al-ghaytha ghayra mudāwimi
He is the sun and the fertile rain in guidance and in giving—nay, far beyond the rain which is not continuous.
Fa-sāsa jamī‘a al-‘urbi wal-‘ujmi kullahā
Fa-‘amma hudāhu al-yawma kulla al-aqālimi
He governed all the Arabs and the non-Arabs entirely; and so his guidance has encompassed all regions today.
Wa-shattata shamla al-mushrikīna wa-qad ‘alā
Bi-saṭwatihi al-tawḥīdu dūna muzāḥimi
He scattered the assembly of the polytheists, and through his awe-inspiring power, Monotheism rose without rival.
Imāman karīman munṣifan wa-muqaw-wiman
Adīban mahīban muḥsinan lil-musākhimi
A noble leader, just and upright; refined, majestic, and kind even to the arrogant.
Jamīlan jalīlan munfiqan mutawāḍi‘an
Wa-lam yaku faẓẓan lā wa-laysa bi-ẓālimi
Beautiful, sublime, spending [in charity], and humble; he was never harsh, no, nor was he an oppressor.
Wa-qad kāna manṣūran bi-ru‘bin fa-ṣaḥbuhu
Bihi daw-wakhū al-buldāna lā bil-ṣawārimi
He was aided by a strike of awe, such that his companions conquered lands through him, not merely by swords.
Fa-yā laytahu qaw-wā al-‘ubayda wa-ṣaḥbahu
Li-nudrika tha’ran min ‘aduwwin wa-ghāshimi
So, if only he would strengthen this little servant and his companions, that we may achieve victory over the enemy and the oppressor.
Wa-yu‘lī binā al-tawḥīda ḥaqqan bi-sur‘atin
Wa-yughnī dhawī al-ḥājāti min kulli rā’imi
And may he truly elevate Monotheism through us with speed, and enrich those in need from every seeker.
Bi-jāhi Rasūli Allāhi thumma ṣiḥābihi
Fa-ya‘lū manāru al-dīni fawqa al-ma‘ālimi
By the high standing of the Messenger of Allah and then his companions, may the lighthouse of religion rise above all landmarks.
Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace, so that the servant does not live the life of cattle.
‘Alayhi ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu
Fa-lī shahwatun fī dhikri taslīmi hāshimī
Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace; for I have a deep craving for the mention of the Hashemite greeting.
‘Alayhi ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu
Fa-qad ḥay-yara al-Mukhtāru afkāra ‘ālami
Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace; for the Chosen One has bewildered the intellects of the world.
‘Alayhi ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu
Fa-lī sakratun tafnā ladayhā ‘awālimī
Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace; for I have an intoxication in which all my worlds vanish.
‘Alayhi ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu
Bihi artaqī lil-ḥubbi aqṣā al-salālimi
Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace; through him, I ascend to the highest ladders of love.
‘Alayhi ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu
Ma‘a al-āli wal-ṣaḥbi al-buḥūri al-khaḍārimi
Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace, along with the family and the companions, the surging oceans of generosity.
