Harfus Siin · حَرْفُ السِّينِ

سَلاَمٌ عَلَى عِهْنٍ وَبِيرِ أَرِيـــسِ
تَحِنُّ قِلاَمِي نَحْوَهَا وَنُقُوسِــــي

Salāmun ‘alā ‘Ihnin wa-bīri Arīsi
Taḥinnu qilāmī naḥwahā wa-nuqūsī

Peace be upon the well of 'Ihn and the well of Aris; my pens and my inkwells yearn toward them.

مَشَارِبُ خَيْرِ الْخَلْقِ صَفْوَةِ خَلْقِهِ
وَأَعْظَمِ مَلْكٍ سَاسَ كُلَّ نُفُـــوسِ

Mashāribu khayri al-khalqi ṣafwati khalqihi
Wa-a‘ẓami malkin sāsa kulla nufūsi

The drinking places of the Best of Creation, the elite of His creation, and the greatest king who governed all souls.

وَقَدْ أَفْصَحَتْ نُطْقُ الْجَمَادَاتِ أَنَّهُ
لَأَفْضَلُ مَخْلُوقٍ غَــــزَا بِخَمِيـــسِ

Wa-qad afṣaḥat nuṭqu al-jamādāti annahu
La-afḍalu makhlūqin ghazā bi-khamīsi

The speech of inanimate objects clearly expressed that he is the best of creatures who ever led an army.

وَقَدْ بَرِعَتْ فِي الْعِلْمِ عُجْمٌ بِسِرِّهِ
وَطَاوَعَهُ لِلرُّشْــــدِ كُــلُّ رَئِيــسِ

Wa-qad bara‘at fī al-‘ilmi ‘ujmun bi-sirrihi
Wa-ṭāwa‘ahu lir-rushdi kullu ra’īsi

Non-Arabs excelled in knowledge through his secret, and every leader obeyed him for the sake of guidance.

وَقَدْ سَحَقَتْ أَصْحَابُهُ كُلَّ مُجْرِمٍ
وَقَدْ عَبِقَتْ بِالطِّيبِ بِيرُ أَرِيــسِ

Wa-qad saḥaqat aṣḥābu-hu kulla mujrimin
Wa-qad ‘abiqat bi-ṭībi bīru Arīsi

His companions crushed every criminal, and the well of Aris has become fragrant with perfume.

عَلَيْهِ صَــــلاَةُ اللّٰهِ ثُــــمَّ سَلاَمُـــهُ
وَآلٍ وَصَحْبٍ قَدْ سَخَوْا بِنَفِيسِ

‘Alayhi ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu
Wa-ālin wa-ṣaḥbin qad sakhaw bi-nafīsi

Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace, and upon the family and companions who gave generously of their most precious possessions.
