Harfut Taa ·
From Ad-Dawaawiinu s-Sitta · الدواوين الست by Sheikh Ibrahim Nyass
Takaddarati al-dunyā wa-zulzilati al-arḍu
Wa-ghayruka rabba al-Muṣṭafā ‘adamun maḥḍu
The world has become murky and the earth has been shaken; yet other than You, O Lord of the Chosen One, all is sheer non-existence.
‘Asa al-Muṣṭafā bābu al-ilāhi bi-faḍlihi
Yunīlu lanā basṭan bihi yurfa‘u al-qabḍu
Perhaps the Chosen One, the Gate of God, through his grace, will grant us an expansion through which our constriction is lifted.
Huwa al-baḥru wa-huwa al-Muṣṭafa al-qarmu jūduhu
Bihi fāḍati al-anwāru wat-tasa‘a al-fayḍu
He is the ocean, and he is the Chosen, the noble chief in his generosity; through him the lights overflowed and the spiritual flood expanded.
Wa-qad āna minhu an yajūda bi-naẓratin
Fa-mā al-sūdu tarjū ghayra Ṭāhā walā al-bīḍu
The time has come for him to be generous with a single glance; for neither the black people nor the white seek anyone other than Taha.
Wa-qad jā’anā minnā ra’ūfan bi-kullinā
Raḥīman ḥarīṣan ḥaqqahu al-dahra lan naqḍū
He came to us from among ourselves, being kind to us all; merciful and concerned for us—a debt we can never fully repay throughout time.
Wa-qad ballagha al-Mukhtāru adda amānatan
Wa-nāṣaḥanā kullan wa-mā sa‘ida al-ba‘ḍu
The Chosen One conveyed the message and fulfilled the trust; he advised us all, though some did not find happiness [in his guidance].
Wa-qad sāda sūdānun bi-ḥubbi nabiyyinā
Wa-qad dhalla bīḍun fī sarā’irihim bughḍu
Black people have attained mastery through the love of our Prophet; while white people who held hatred in their hearts have been humbled.
‘Alayhi ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu
Ṣalātan nurā fī ḥiṣnihā ḥaythumā namḍū
Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace; a prayer in whose fortress we are seen wherever we go.
‘Alayhi ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu
Tajūdu lanā al-anwā’u wan-nabtu wal-arḍu
Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace; [through which] the rain-stars, the plants, and the earth become generous to us.
‘Alayhi ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu
Wa-ālin wa-asḥābin ‘alā al-dīni qad ḥaḍḍū
Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace, and upon the family and companions who urged others toward the religion.
