Harfuth Thaa · حَرْفُ الثَّاءِ

ثَوَى حُبُّ خَيْرِ الْخَلْقِ فِي خَلَدِي فَوْزَا
وَقَدْ نِلْتُ مِنْهُ السِّرَّ وَالْعِلْــمَ وَالْكَنْــزَا

Thawā ḥubbu khayri al-khalqi fī khaladī fawzā
Wa-qad niltu minhu al-sirra wal-‘ilma wal-kanzā

The love of the Best of Creation has settled in my mind as a triumph; and from him, I have attained the Secret, the Knowledge, and the Treasure.

إِمَامٌ وَهَـــــادٍ فِــي مَشَاهِـــدِ دَهْشَـــةٍ
لَدَى عَالَمِ الْأَرْوَاحِ قَدْ أَوْضَحَ الرَّمْزَا

Imāmun wa-hādin fī mashāhidi dahshatin
Lada ‘ālami al-arwāḥi qad awḍaḥa al-ramzā

He is the Leader and Guide in the scenes of bewilderment; in the world of the spirits, he explained the symbols.

بَلَى قَالَ مَهْمَا الْحَــــقُّ قَـــالَ تَجَلِّيًـــا
أَلَسْتُ بِرَبٍّ قَبْلَ أَنْ زَخْرَفُوا الْعُزَّى

Balā qāla mahmā al-ḥaqqu qāla tajal-liyā
Alastu bi-rabbin qabla an zakhrafū al-‘Uzzā

"Yes!" he said, when the Truth spoke in manifestation: "Am I not your Lord?"—long before they adorned the idol 'Uzza.

فَقَالَ جَمِيعُ الرُّسْلِ مَا قَالَ مُرْشِــــدِي
وَكُلُّ نَبِيٍّ ثُــمَّ مَــنْ عَرَفُـــوا الْمَيْــزَا

Fa-qāla jamī‘u al-rusli mā qāla murshidī
Wa-kullu nabiyyin thumma man ‘arafū al-mayzā

Then all the messengers said what my guide said, as did every prophet and those who possessed discernment.

فَكَـــانَ إِمَـــامُ الْكُـــلِّ لِلْكُـلِّ قَائِــدًا
فَمِنْهُ جَمِيعًا مَا إِلَى الرُّسْلِ قَدْ يُعْزَى

Fa-kāna imāmu al-kulli lil-kulli qā’idā
Fa-minhu jamī‘an mā ilā al-rusli qad yu‘zā

Thus he was the Imam of all and the leader for all; for everything attributed to the messengers is derived from him.

عَلَيْــــــهِ صَـــلاَةُ اللّٰهِ ثُـــمَّ سَلاَمُـــهُ
أَنَالُ بِهَا الْعَلْيَاءَ وَالرُّشْــــدَ وَالْفَــوْزَا

‘Alayhi ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu
Anālu bihā al-‘alyā’a war-rushda wal-fawzā

Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace; through which I attain high status, guidance, and triumph.

عَلَيْـــــــهِ صَـــلاَةُ اللّٰهِ ثُـــمَّ سَلاَمُـــهُ
تُزِيلُ طَخَاءَ الْقَلْبِ وَالْـهَمْزَ وَاللَّمْـزَا

‘Alayka ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu
Tuzīlu ṭakhā’a al-qalbi wal-hamza wal-lamzā

Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace; may it remove the darkness of the heart, the whispers, and the slandering.

عَلَيْـــــــــهِ صَـــلاَةُ اللّٰهِ ثُـــمَّ سَــــلاَمُــهُ
بِهَا قَدْ تَقِينِي السِّحْرَ وَالضَّرْبَ وَالْوَكْزَا

‘Alayka ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu
Bihā qad taqīnī al-siḥra wal-ḍarba wal-wakzā

Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace; may it protect me from magic, strikes, and blows.

عَلَيْهِ صَــــــلاَةُ اللّٰهِ ثُــــمَّ سَلاَمُـــهُ
تُسَخِّرُ لِي دَهْرِي وَلَمْ أُلْكَزَنْ لَكْزَا

‘Alayka ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu
Tusakh-khiru lī dahrī wa-lam ulkazan lakzā

Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace; may it subject my time to me so that I am never shoved or struck.

عَلَيْـــهِ صَـــــلاَةُ اللّٰهِ ثُــــمَّ سَلاَمُـــهُ
وَآلٍ وَصَحْبٍ قَــدْ أُنِلْنَا بِهِمْ عِـــزَّا

‘Alayhi ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu
Wa-ālin wa-ṣaḥbin qad unilnā bihim ‘izzā

Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace, and upon the family and companions through whom we were granted might.
