Harfudh Dhaal ·
From Ad-Dawaawiinu s-Sitta · الدواوين الست by Sheikh Ibrahim Nyass
Dhakartu Rasūla Allāhi dhikra taladh-dhudhi
Bi-shay’in siwāhu al-dahra lam ataladh-dhadhi
I remembered the Messenger of Allah with a remembrance of pure delight; through nothing other than him have I ever found pleasure.
Wa-hal thamma ghayru al-Muṣṭafā wa-jamālihi
Wa-hal thamma min hādin siwāhu wa-munqidhi
Is there anything besides the Chosen One and his beauty? And is there any guide besides him or any savior?
Dharīniya yā Salmā li-hammī wa-waḥshatī
Uqāsī marīran wa-huwa ‘aynu taladh-dhudhī
Leave me, O Salma, to my grief and my loneliness; I endure bitterness, yet it is the very essence of my delight.
Dharīnī li-tadhkāri al-Amīni fa-innahu
Malā al-qalba mā lī ghayru tadhkāri munqidhī
Leave me to the remembrance of the Trustworthy One, for he has filled my heart; I have nothing but the remembrance of my savior.
‘Alayhi ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu
Ṣalātan bihā ulfā li-waṣlika kal-ladhī
Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace; a prayer through which I am found [attaining] union with you, like the one who [has arrived].
‘Alayka ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu
Ṣalātan bihā a‘lū ‘alā kulli jihbidhi
Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace; a prayer through which I rise above every brilliant scholar.
‘Alayhi ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu
Wa-ālin wa-ṣaḥbin ‘āyanū nūra ma’khadhī
Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace, and upon the family and companions who witnessed the light of my source.
