Harfuz Zwaa ·
From Ad-Dawaawiinu s-Sitta · الدواوين الست by Sheikh Ibrahim Nyass
Ẓa‘antu ilā wādī al-ḥabībi al-mubahhaji
Muḥammadin al-māḥī al-ḍalāla al-musarraji
I have departed toward the valley of the joyful Beloved; Muhammad, the eraser of misguidance, the one like a lamp.
Bi-Kāẓimatin aḥbābu qalbī wa-Sal‘ihā
Wa-wādī al-naqā maghnā al-karīmi al-mutawwaji
In Kazima are the beloveds of my heart, and at Mount Sal’ and the Valley of Naqa—the dwelling of the Crowned Noble One.
Fa-hal lī min ilmāmin bi-tilka wa-laytanī
Uwāfīka yā man nahjuhu al-dahra manhajī
Will I ever have a visit to those places? If only I could meet you, O you whose path is my path for all time.
Uwāfī al-ladhī lawlāhu mā dharra shāriqun
Wa-lawlāhu nūru al-shamsi lam yataballaji
I seek to meet the one without whom no rising sun would shine, and without whom the light of the sun would not have broken through.
Nabiyyun ḥawā mā lam yanal-hu muqarrabun
Walā fī buyūti al-ḥayyi bil-mutawalliji
A Prophet who possessed what no near angel ever attained, nor any who entered the dwellings of the living.
‘Alayhi ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu
A‘īshu bihā dahrī bi-ghayri muza‘-‘iji
Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace; through which I live my life without any disturber.
‘Alayhi ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu
Fa-inniya asīru al-ḥubbi dūna taghannuji
Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace; for I am a captive of love without any pretense or vanity.
‘Alayhi ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu
Ṣalātan ‘alā ṭūli al-madā lam tunassaji
Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace; a prayer that throughout the ages has never been [matched/woven].
‘Alayhi ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu
‘Alā dhālika al-fakhmi al-mahībi al-mubahhaji
Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace; upon that magnificent, majestic, and joyful one.
‘Alayhi ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu
‘Alā dhālika al-aqnā al-azajji wal-ablaji
Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace; upon the one with the aquiline nose, the arched brows, and the radiant face.
‘Alayhi ma‘a al-āli al-kirāmi wa-ṣaḥbihi
Wa-man salakū fī al-dīni aḥsana manhaji
Upon him, along with the noble family and his companions, and those who followed the best path in religion.
