Harful Ghayn ·

From Ad-Dawaawiinu s-Sitta · الدواوين الست by Sheikh Ibrahim Nyass

Gharāmī da‘ānī lil-Furayshi wa-Rābighi
Wa-Ṭaybati khayri al-khalqi mu‘ṭī al-sawābighi

My passion has called me to al-Furaysh and Rabigh, and to Tayba (Medina), the home of the Best of Creation, the giver of ample bounties.

Salāmun ‘alā bīray ‘Aliyyin wa-Rūmatin
Fa-man lī bi-ka’sin min Buḍā‘ata sā’ighi

Peace be upon the two wells of Ali and the well of Ruma; who will grant me a cup of easy-swallowing water from the well of Budā‘a?

Salāmun ‘alā Zarqā’i ‘aynin wa-qad samat
‘Ala al-ḥūri wa-shawqī li-Sal‘in wa-Rābighi

Peace be upon the blue spring (Zarqā’), which has surpassed even the maidens of paradise; oh, my longing for Mount Sal’ and Rabigh!

Salāmun ‘alā qabri al-Amīni wa-rawḍatin
Turīka ḍiyā’an yazdarī kulla bāzighi

Peace be upon the grave of the Trustworthy One and the Rawda (Garden), which shows you a light that outshines every rising sun.

Salāmun ‘alā rawḍi al-Baqī‘i fa-innanī
Yuwaddī salāmī kullu ātin wa-bālighi

Peace be upon the garden of al-Baqī‘; for indeed, my greetings are carried by every traveler arriving and reaching there.

Maḥā ḥubbuhā ḥubba al-qurā min khawāṭirī
Fa-mā Lundunan dhāta al-shumū‘i al-bawāzighi

The love of Medina has erased the love of all other cities from my thoughts; so what of London with its shining candles?

Wa-dhālika min ḥubbi al-ḥabībi fa-ḥubbuhu
Matā yuqdhafan fī al-qalbi a‘ẓamu dāmighi

That is due to the love of the Beloved; for whenever his love is cast into the heart, it is the greatest vanquisher [of all else].

‘Alayhi ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu
Wa-yuṣbaghu qalbu al-‘abdi min khayri ṣābighi

Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace; may the heart of the servant be dyed by the Best of Dyers.

‘Alayka ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu
Wa-tasta’ṣilu al-a‘dā’a min kulli zā’ighi

Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace; may it uproot the enemies from among every deviator.

‘Alayka ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu
Wa-uksā kisā al-anwāri min kulli sābighi

Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace; may I be clothed in the garment of lights, in every ample way.

‘Alayhi ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu
Wa-ālin wa-ṣaḥbin andharū kulla bālighi

Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace, and upon the family and companions who warned every person reached by the message.
