Harfush Shiin ·

From Ad-Dawaawiinu s-Sitta · الدواوين الست by Sheikh Ibrahim Nyass

Shahidtu wa-lā ulfā li-‘ahdiya ankuthu
Bi-annī ‘alā ḥubbī li-Aḥmada amkuthu

I bear witness—and I shall never be found breaking my covenant—that I am staying firm in my love for Ahmad.

Uḥibbuka ḥubban lā yukay-yafu amruhu
Wa-kulla al-ladhī yahwāka aw man yuḥad-dithu

I love you with a love whose nature cannot be described, and I love everyone who loves you or speaks of you.

Fa-laytiya alqā al-Muṣṭafa al-qarma laytahu
‘Alā ‘iwajī dahrī bi-raw‘iya yanfuthu

Would that I could meet the Chosen One, the noble chief; would that he would breathe into my soul to straighten my lifelong crookedness.

Bi-ḥubbi Rasūli Allāhi sādat ‘ashīratī
Wa-naslī wa-man yar‘ā dhimāmī wa-yamkuthu

Through the love of the Messenger of Allah, my clan has attained mastery, as have my progeny and whoever observes my protection and stays with me.

Bi-ḥubbi Rasūli Allāhi ta‘lū madīnatī
‘Alā al-mudni wal-amṣāri wal-khayru yaḥduthu

Through the love of the Messenger of Allah, my city rises above all other cities and metropolises, and goodness occurs within it.

Bi-ḥubbi Rasūli Allāhi ta‘lū manāratī
Manārāti malkin ‘ahdaka al-dahra yankuthu

Through the love of the Messenger of Allah, my minaret rises above the minarets of any king who breaks your covenant.

‘Alayhi ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu
Ṣalātan tuḍī’u al-qabra sā‘ata ujdathu

Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace; a prayer that illuminates the grave at the hour I am buried.

‘Alayhi ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu
Wa-ālin wa-ṣaḥbin bil-ḥadīthi taḥad-dathū

Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace, and upon the family and companions who spoke of his traditions.
