# Harfud Daal · حَرْفُ الدَّالِ

**1.** دُجَى الْكُفْــــرِ جَلاَّهُ الْإِمَـــامُ مُحَمَّـــدُ / أَبُو الْقَاسِمِ الْمَاحِي الضَّلاَلاَتِ أَحْمَــدُ

_Dujā al-kufri jallāhu al-Imāmu Muḥammadu / Abū al-Qāsimi al-māḥī al-ḍalālāti Aḥmadu_

The darkness of disbelief was cleared away by the Imam, Muhammad; Abul Qasim, the eraser of misguidances, Ahmad.

**2.** فَـيَشْكُرُهُ طِرْسِي وَنِقْسِي وَلَقْلَقِــي / مَدَى الدَّهْرِ فَهْوَ الْمُنْتَقَى وَالْمُمَجَّــدُ

_Fa-yashkuruhu ṭirsī wa-niqsī wa-laqlaqī / Madā al-dahri fahuwa al-muntaqā wal-mumajjadu_

My parchment, my ink, and my tongue all thank him throughout time; for he is the Selected and the Glorified.

**3.** وَيَشْكُرُهُ قَالِي وَحَــــالِي لَعَلَّنِــي / عَلَى كُلِّ حَالٍ يَصْطَفِينِي مُحَمَّــدُ

_Wa-yashkuruhu qālī wa-ḥālī la‘allanī / ‘Alā kulli ḥālin yaṣṭafīnī Muḥammadu_

My words and my spiritual state thank him, in the hope that in every circumstance, Muhammad might choose me.

**4.** شِفَائِي لِأَمْرَاضِي مَدِيحِي جَنَابَــهُ / وَذَاكَ سِلاَحِي وَهْوَ سَيْفِي الْمُهَنَّدُ

_Shifā’ī li-amrāḍī madīḥī janābahu / Wa-dhāka silāḥī wa-huwa sayfī al-muhannadu_

My healing for my diseases is my praise of his presence; that is my weapon and my Indian steel sword.

**5.** نَبِيٌّ بِهِ قَــــــدْ فَـــازَ كُــــلُّ مُقَــرَّبٍ / لَدَى الْحَضْرَةِ الْعَلْيَا فَذَاكَ الْمُصَمَّدُ

_Nabiyyun bihi qad fāza kullu muqarrabin / Lada al-ḥaḍrati al-‘ulyā fa-dhāka al-muṣammadu_

A Prophet through whom every near-one attained success in the High Presence; for he is the one turned to in all needs.

**6.** فَسَعْدِي وَآبَائِي وَنَسْلِي بِذِكْــرِهِ / وَذَاكَ بِلاَ فَخْرٍ عَلَى الْكُلِّ سَيِّـــدُ

_Fa-sa‘dī wa-ābā’ī wa-naslī bi-dhikrihi / Wa-dhāka bilā fakhrin ‘ala al-kulli sayyidu_

My happiness, my fathers, and my progeny are all through his remembrance; and he—without boast—is the master over all.

**7.** فَمَا فَخْرُهُ إِلاَّ الْعُبُودَةُ لَــمْ يَــرُمْ / سِوَاهَا وَذَاكَ الْفَخْرُ فَخْرٌ مُخَلَّدُ

_Fa-mā fakhruhu illā al-‘ubūdatu lam yarum / Siwāhā wa-dhāka al-fakhru fakhrun mukhal-ladu_

His pride was nothing but servanthood; he sought nothing else, and that pride is an eternal pride.

**8.** عَلَيْـــهِ صَــلاَةُ اللّٰهِ ثُـــمَّ سَلاَمُــهُ / لِذَاكِرِهَا دَهْرًا عَــلاَءٌ وَسُــؤْدَدُ

_‘Alayhi ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu / Li-dhākiri-hā dahran ‘alā’un wa-su’dadu_

Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace; for the one who recites it, there is forever loftiness and sovereignty.

**9.** عَلَيْـــهِ صَــلاَةُ اللّٰهِ ثُــمَّ سَلاَمُــهُ / أَنَالُ بِهَا مَــــا لَــمْ يَنَلْــهُ مُسَــوَّدُ

_‘Alayka ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu / Anālu bihā mā lam yanal-hu musaw-wadu_

Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace; through which I attain what no worldly leader has attained.

**10.** عَلَيْـــهِ صَـــلاَةُ اللّٰهِ ثُـــمَّ سَلاَمُــهُ / صَـــلاَةً بِهَا عَهْدِي لَدَيْهِ مُؤَكَّــدُ

_‘Alayka ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu / Ṣalātan bihā ‘ahdī ladayhi mu’ak-kadu_

Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace; a prayer through which my covenant with him is confirmed.

**11.** عَلَيْهِ صَـــــلاَةُ اللّٰهِ ثُـــمَّ سَلاَمُــهُ / صَلاَةً بِهَا ذَا الْعَبْدُ دَهْـرًا مُؤَيَّــدُ

_‘Alayka ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu / Ṣalātan bihā dhā al-‘abdu dahran mu’ay-yadu_

Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace; a prayer through which this servant is forever supported.

**12.** عَلَيْـــهِ صَــلاَةُ اللّٰهِ ثُــمَّ سَلاَمُــهُ / صَلاَةً بِهَا يُسْقَى ظِمَاءٌ وَوُرَّدُ

_‘Alayka ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu / Ṣalātan bihā yusqā ẓimā’un wa-wur-radu_

Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace; a prayer through which the thirsty and those arriving at the well are given to drink.

**13.** عَلَيْهِ صَــلاَةُ اللّٰهِ ثُـــمَّ سَلاَمُــهُ / صَلاَةً بِهَا شَمْلُ الْعَــدُوِّ مُبَــدَّدُ

_‘Alayka ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu / Ṣalātan bihā shamlu al-‘aduw-wi mubad-dadu_

Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace; a prayer through which the assembly of the enemy is scattered.

**14.** عَلَيْــهِ صَــلاَةُ اللّٰهِ ثُـــمَّ سَلاَمُــهُ / صَلاَةً بِهَا أَنْوَارُهَا الدَّهْرَ تُوقَدُ

_‘Alayka ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu / Ṣalātan bihā anwāru-hā al-dahra tūqadu_

Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace; a prayer through which its lights are ignited throughout time.

**15.** عَلَيْــهِ صَــلاَةُ اللّٰهِ ثُــمَّ سَلاَمُــهُ / وَيَقْبَلُنِي طَــهَ الْأَمِينُ وَيَقْصِدُ

_‘Alayka ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu / Wa-yaqbalunī Ṭāhā al-Amīnu wa-yaqṣidu_

Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace; and may Taha the Trustworthy accept me and intend [to favor] me.

**16.** عَلَيْـــــهِ مَعَ الْآلِ الْكِــرَامِ وَصَحْبِـــهِ / وَمَنْ سَلَكُـوا نَهْجَ الْأَمِيـنِ وَوَحَّـــدُوا

_‘Alayhi ma‘a al-āli al-kirāmi wa-ṣaḥbihi / Wa-man salakū nahja al-Amīni wa-waḥ-ḥadū_

Upon him, along with the noble family and his companions, and those who followed the path of the Trustworthy One and affirmed Divine Unity.
