**1.** زَمَانِيَ سَعْــــــدٌ مِنْــــهُ فَـــوْزٌ لِفَائِــزِ / لِمَـــــــدْحِ هُمَـــامٍ مُجْـــزِلٍ لِلْجَوَائِــزِ

_Zamāniya sa‘dun minhu fawzun li-fā’izi / Li-madḥi humāmin mujzilin lil-jawā’izi_

My time is one of felicity, bringing triumph to the successful; through the praise of a brave leader who is generous with rewards.

**2.** لِمَـــدْحِ هُمَـــامٍ مِنْـــهُ تِلْـــكَ وَهَـــذِهِ / وَقَدْ جُبْتُ مِنْ حُبِّيهِ كُـــلَّ الْمَفَـــاوِزِ

_Li-madḥi humāmin minhu tilka wa-hādhihi / Wa-qad jubtu min ḥubbīhi kulla al-mafāwizi_

Through the praise of a brave leader, from whom come all these [blessings]; through his love, I have crossed every desert.

**3.** حَبَانِي وَأَعْطَانِــي وَأَجْـــزَلَ نَيْلَــهُ / وَحَتَّى حَبَا مَـــا ذِكْرُهُ غَيْـــرُ جَائِــزِ

_Ḥabānī wa-a‘ṭānī wa-ajzala naylahu / Wa-ḥattā ḥabā mā dhikruhu ghayru jā’izi_

He gifted me, gave to me, and made his bounty abundant; he even gifted that which is not permissible to mention.

**4.** وَيَذْكُـــرُهُ مِنِّـــي جَنَانِـــي وَلَقْلَقِــي / فَلاَ أَكُ يَوْمًـــــا عَــنْ ثَنَــاهُ بِعَاجِــزِ

_Wa-yadhkuruhu minnī janānī wa-laqlaqī / Fa-lā aku yawman ‘an thanāhu bi-‘ājizi_

My heart and my tongue remember him; so let me never be, for even a day, unable to offer his praise.

**5.** جَمِيــــلٌ جَلِيـــلٌ كَامِـــلٌ ذُو مَكَانَــةٍ / جَوَادٌ وَفِـــي الْـهَيْجَا أَمَـامَ الْمَرَاكِــزِ

_Jamīlun jalīlun kāmilun dhū makānatin / Jawādun wa-fī al-hayjā amāma al-marākizi_

Beautiful, majestic, perfect, and of high standing; generous, and in the heat of battle, he was at the front of the ranks.

**6.** عَلِيــــــمٌ حَلِيمٌ صَــــابِرٌ وَهْـــوَ شَاكِــرٌ / وَفِي اللّٰهِ أَعْطَى ، فِي السِّوَى لَمْ يُبَارِزِ

_‘Alīmun ḥalīmun ṣābirun wa-huwa shākirun / Wa-fī Allāhi a‘ṭā, fī al-siwā lam yubārizi_

Knowledgeable, clement, patient, and grateful; he gave for the sake of Allah, and for anything else, he never vied.

**7.** عَظِيـــمٌ عَظِيـــمُ الْخُلْقِ عَيْــنٌ لِرَحْمَــةٍ / وَمَنْ مَالَ يَوْمًــــا عَنْـــهُ لَيْــسَ بِفَائِــزِ

_‘Aẓīmun ‘aẓīmu al-khulqi ‘aynun li-raḥmatin / Wa-man māla yawman ‘anhu laysa bi-fā’izi_

Magnificent! Magnificent in character, the very essence of mercy; whoever turns away from him one day is not a winner.

**8.** أُصَـــــرِّحُ وَجْـــــدًا بِالْمَحَبَّــةِ نَحْــوَهُ / وَأَغْنَاهُ مَا فِي الْقَلْبِ عَنْ رَمْزِ رَامِـزِ

_Uṣar-riḥu wajdan bil-maḥab-bati naḥwahu / Wa-agh-nāhu mā fī al-qalbi ‘an ramzi rāmizi_

I openly declare my ecstatic passion in love for him; what is in the heart suffices him, needing no symbols from any coder.

**9.** عَلَيْـــــــــهِ صَـــلاَةُ اللّٰهِ ثُـــمَّ سَلاَمُــهُ / أُعَــــــدِّدُ ذِكْـــــرَاهُ كَعَـــدِّ الْعَجَائِـــــزِ

_‘Alayhi ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu / U‘ad-didu dhikrāhu ka-‘addi al-‘ajā’izi_

Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace; I count his remembrance as the old women count [their beads].

**10.** عَلَيْـــــــهِ صَـــلاَةُ اللّٰهِ ثُـــمَّ سَلاَمُـــهُ / عَدِيدَ الْوَرَى مِــــنْ مُسْتَكِــنٍّ وَبَارِزِ

_‘Alayka ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu / ‘Adīda al-warā min mustakinnin wa-bārizi_

Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace; as numerous as the mortals, both the hidden and the manifest.

**11.** عَلَيْـــهِ صَـــــلاَةُ اللّٰهِ ثُــــمَّ سَلاَمُـــهُ / صَـــلاَةً تُرَقِّينِـــي لِخَيْـــرِ الْغَرَائِــزِ

_‘Alayka ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu / Ṣalātan turaq-qīnī li-khayri al-gharā’izi_

Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace; a prayer that elevates me to the best of natural dispositions.

**12.** عَلَيْـــهِ صَـــــلاَةُ اللّٰهِ ثُـــمَّ سَلاَمُـــهُ / وَمَنْ أَثْخَنُوا فِي الدِّينِ كُـــلَّ مُبَارِزِ

_‘Alayhi ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu / Wa-man athkhanū fī al-dīni kulla mubārizi_

Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace, and upon those who subdued every challenger in the religion.
