Harfut Twaa ·

From Ad-Dawaawiinu s-Sitta · الدواوين الست by Sheikh Ibrahim Nyass

Ṭabībī siqāmī Aḥmadu al-nūru muqsiṭu
Jamīlun jalīlun mithluhu lam yakun qaṭ-ṭu

The doctor for my sickness is Ahmad; he is light and he is just. Beautiful and majestic—never has there been anyone like him.

Ṭawā liya fī sayrī al-mahāmiha muj-zilā
Li-naḥwī al-‘aṭāyā wal-fuḥūlu qad agh-baṭū

He folded the vast deserts for me in my journey, bestowing gifts upon me so great that even the "stallions" [among saints] were envious.

Fa-ḥarthī wa-bustānī madīḥu Muḥammadin
Maḥaṭ-ṭatu sirri al-ḥaqqi lil-waḥyi mah-biṭu

My harvest and my garden are the praise of Muhammad; the station of the Secret of Truth, the place where Revelation descends.

Wa-dhāka al-ladhī mahmā dhakartu jamālahu
Sarā al-wajdu fī ḥattā ahīmu wa-akh-biṭu

That is the one whose beauty, whenever I mention it, sends ecstasy through me until I wander and lose myself in love.

Wa-dhāka al-ladhī mahmā-shtaghaltu bi-madḥihi
Yafiḍ liya fayḍan ḥaythumā al-kullu yagh-biṭu

That is the one through whose praise, whenever I occupy myself, a flood overflows for me such that everyone gazes in envy.

Wa-dhāka al-ladhī lawlāhu lam tulfa qaṭratun
Fahuwa al-Qāsimu al-Ma’mūnu yu‘ṭī wa-yuq-siṭu

That is the one without whom not a single drop [of rain or existence] would be found; he is the Trustworthy Distributor who gives and acts with justice.

‘Alayhi ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu
Tusakh-khiru lī dahrī wa-qalbī tunash-shiṭu

Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace; may it subject my time to me and invigorate my heart.

‘Alayhi ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu
Tubīdu al-‘idā ṭurran wal-a‘māla tuḥ-biṭu

Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace; may it destroy the enemies entirely and render their [evil] deeds void.

‘Alayhi ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu
Yadīnu li-amrī kullu shaykhin wa-ash-maṭu

Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace; may every elder and grey-haired man submit to my command.

‘Alayhi ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu
Bihā asbiqu al-aqṭāba ṭurran wa-afruṭu

Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace; through it, I overtake all the Spiritual Poles and go beyond.

‘Alayhi ma‘a al-āli al-kirāmi wa-ṣaḥbihi
Wa-man salakū dīna al-nabiyyi wa-aq-saṭū

Upon him, along with the noble family and his companions, and those who followed the Prophet's religion and were just.

‘Alayhi madā al-ayyāmi mā qāla mughramun
Ṭabībī siqāmī Aḥmadu al-nūru muqsiṭu

Upon him throughout the days, as long as a lover says: "The doctor for my sickness is Ahmad; he is light and he is just."
