# Harful Miim ·

From [Ad-Dawaawiinu s-Sitta · الدواوين الست](https://qasaaid.zayfir.app/app/qasaaid/691f292bc02b144934a4ec1f) by [Sheikh Ibrahim Nyass](https://qasaaid.zayfir.app/app/authors/69172463686829cc1d041df5)

_Madīnatu khayri al-khalqi Ṭaybatu a‘ẓamu / Bi-lādi ilāhi al-‘ālamīna wa-afkhamu_

The city of the Best of Creation, Tayba (Medina), is the greatest and most magnificent of the lands of the Lord of the Worlds.

_Maḥallatu naṣri al-Muṣṭafā wa-junūdihi / Wa-anṣārihi wa-huwa al-nabiyyu al-mu‘aẓ-ẓamu_

It is the place of victory for the Chosen One, his soldiers, and his helpers—and he is the glorified Prophet.

_Wa-fīhā mamarru al-Muṣṭafā wa-maqarruhu / Bihā buq‘atun ‘alyā mina al-bayti a‘ẓamu_

In it is the path the Chosen One trod and his final resting place; it contains a spot higher and greater than the House (the Kaaba).

_Wa-masjiduhu a‘ẓim bihi wa-buyūtuhu / Wa-ābāruhu wal-‘ilmu fīhā muqas-samu_

And his mosque—how great it is!—and his homes, and his wells; and knowledge therein is distributed.

_Taraddada Jibrīlu al-Amīnu li-ahlihā / Khadīman wa-Mīkā’īlu wal-amru aj-samu_

The Trustworthy Gabriel used to frequent its people as a servant, as did Michael, and the matter is most grave.

_Fa-hal lī min ilmāmin bi-Ṭaybata zā’iran / ‘Ala al-Muṣṭafā bil-qurbi minhu usallimu_

Will I ever have a visit to Tayba as a pilgrim, to greet the Chosen One from close proximity?

_Fa-mā lī dawan fī ghayri dhāka wa-innanī / Arā rukna ṣabrī kulla waqtin yuhad-damu_

For I have no medicine other than that, and indeed, I see the pillar of my patience being demolished every moment.

_Tajalladtu ḥattā ‘īla ṣabrī wa-lam uṭiq / ‘Ani al-Muṣṭafā ḥabsī wa-in kuntu ujrimu_

I showed endurance until my patience was exhausted; I cannot bear my imprisonment away from the Chosen One, even if I am a sinner.

_Unādīka khayra al-khalqi ḥayyan li-tas-maḥan / Bi-‘awdī lahā idh mā ḥalā liya maṭ-‘amu_

I call upon you, O Best of Creation, as one who is alive: allow my return to it, for no food is pleasant to me [until then].

_Ukātimu wajdan lā yarīmu fa-khāṭirī / Ila Ṭaybata al-gharrā’i wal-ḥubbu yus-qimu_

I hide an ecstatic passion that never leaves; my thoughts are toward radiant Tayba, and this love makes me ill.

_La’in waṭi’at rijlī diyāra Muḥammadin / Aṣum wa-aqum shukran li-rabbī fa-agh-namu_

If my foot ever treads upon the lands of Muhammad, I shall fast and pray in thanks to my Lord, and thus gain the prize.

_Fa-awwalu khalqi Allāhi nūru Muḥammadin / Wa-ḥalla li-aṣlābi al-ladhīna qad aslamū_

The first of Allah's creation was the Light of Muhammad; it resided in the loins of those who were submitted (Muslims).

_Wa-kullu rasūlin nā’ibun ‘an nabiyyinā / Fahuwa al-akhīru al-makhtūmu wa-huwa al-muqad-damu_

Every Messenger is a deputy for our Prophet; for he is the Last, the Sealed, yet he is the Foremost.

_Fa-āyātuhum āyātuhu wa-nabiyyunā / Atā bi-kitābin sha’nuhu al-dahra yaf-khamu_

Their miracles are but his miracles; and our Prophet brought a Book whose status remains magnificent throughout time.

_Atā bi-jihādi al-kāfirīna fa-ur‘ibū / Fa-hābū ṭubā al-asyāfi ṭurran wa-aslamū_

He came with the struggle against the disbelievers until they were struck with awe; they feared the edges of the swords and submitted.

_Wa-shuqqa lahu badrun wa-wāfat-hu dawḥatun / Wal-aḥjāru fī al-Baṭḥā’i kānat tusallimu_

The moon was split for him, the great tree came to him, and the stones in the valley of Makkah used to greet him.

_Wa-fāḍat miyāhun min banāni nabiyyinā / Wa-asqat juyūshan kullu jayshin ‘aramramu_

Water gushed forth from the fingers of our Prophet and gave drink to armies, every vast and thundering army.

_Shakaw jahdahum ‘inda al-nabiyyi fa-saqāhumu / Ghamāmun bi-wadqin saybuhā laysa yuf-ṣamu_

They complained of their hardship to the Prophet, and he gave them drink through a cloud with heavy rain whose flow never ceased.

_Saqāhum kadhalika al-Fārūqu bil-‘ammi ‘ammihi / Bi-dhikrihimu asqī al-bilāda wa-uf-‘imu_

Likewise, al-Faruq (Umar) gave them drink through the Uncle (Abbas); through their mention, I water the lands and fill them.

_‘Alayhi ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu / Li-alqā bihā al-Mawlā wa-qalbī musallamu_

Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace, that I may meet the Master through it with a heart that is sound.

_‘Alayhi ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu / Wa-yanshuru hadyī fī al-warā wa-yu‘am-mimu_

Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace, may he spread my guidance among mortals and make it universal.

_‘Alayhi ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu / Li-yaqbalanī al-Mukhtāru wal-‘ilma a‘lamu_

Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace, may the Chosen One accept me and may I know the ultimate knowledge.

_‘Alayhi ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu / Li-kulli murīdin ākhira al-dahri sullamu_

Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace, a ladder for every seeker at the end of time.

_‘Alayhi ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu / Bi-dhikrika bad’un wa-huwa dhikruka makhtamu_

Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace; with your mention is the beginning, and with your mention is the conclusion.

_‘Alayhi ma‘a al-āli al-kirāmi wa-ṣaḥbihi / Ṣalātun wa-taslīmun bi-dhaynika akhtamu_

Upon him, along with the noble family and his companions, be prayer and salutation; with these two I conclude.
