Harfun Nuun ·
From Ad-Dawaawiinu s-Sitta · الدواوين الست by Sheikh Ibrahim Nyass
Nuwah-ḥidu mawlānā bi-Aḥmada nu’minu
Wa-bir-rusli wal-amlāki wa-huwa al-Muhayminu
We affirm the Oneness of our Master, and through Ahmad (the Prophet) we believe, as we believe in the Messengers and the Angels, and He (Allah) is the All-Preserver.
Wa-nuḥjimu ṭawran ‘an thanā’i nabiyyinā
Quṣūran wa-ṭawran bil-madā’iḥi nu‘linu
At times we hold back from the praise of our Prophet out of a sense of inadequacy, and at other times we proclaim his praises openly.
Wa-in kuntu lam uḥsin madīḥa Muḥammadin
Uswad-du awrāqan bi-ḥubbika u‘linu
Even if I have not mastered the art of praising Muhammad, I blacken these pages simply to proclaim my love for you.
Wa-in katabū al-mud-dāḥa yawman wa-athbatū
Sumātī akun mithla al-ladhīna qad aḥsanū
If the names of the praisers are ever recorded and my attributes are affirmed among them, I would be like those who have done well.
Fa-yā fawza Ibrāhīma in jā’a dhikruhu
Bi-zumrati man yuthnī ‘alayka wa-yuḥsinu
O, the success of Ibrahim if his name is mentioned among the group of those who extol you with excellence!
Wa-tarkī tamāman lil-quṣūri aẓun-nuhu
Muḥālan fa-rabbī Allāhu lil-kulli muḥsinu
I think that abandoning [this praise] entirely due to my shortcomings is impossible, for my Lord, Allah, is the Doer of Good to all.
‘Asa al-Muṣṭafā yawman yajūdu bi-naẓratin
Tughas-silu awzārī wa-qalbī tus-minu
Perhaps the Chosen One will one day grant me a gaze that washes away my sins and nourishes my heart.
Wa-in shā’a qaw-wānī li-ḥamli khilāfatin
Li-kay arfa‘a al-tawḥīda wal-kullu mūminu
And if He wills, He will strengthen me to carry the Vicegerency (Khilafa), so that I may raise the banner of Tawhid until everyone is a believer.
Li-yuslima jullu al-nāsi aqtulu ba‘ḍahumu
Jihādan wa-innī mūminun bika muḥsinu
So that most people may submit—I would strive against some in Jihad—while I am a believer in you, acting with excellence.
Fa-arfa‘u ‘ilman lil-jahālati wāḍi‘an
Wa-uksiru rāyāti al-ṣalībi wa-ad-finu
Thus I would raise the banner of knowledge while putting down ignorance, and I would break the banners of the Cross and bury them.
Fa-bī yurfa‘u al-jawru al-‘aẓīmu falā yurā
Siwā al-‘ilmi wad-dīni al-ḥanīfi yuzay-yinu
Through me, great injustice shall be lifted until nothing is seen but knowledge and the Upright Religion, beautifying the world.
Fa-tumsī rijālu Allāhi fī ẓilli rāḥatin
Wa-‘izzin wa-tamjīdin wal-ḥaqqi a‘lanū
Then the Men of God will find themselves in the shade of rest, glory, and exaltation, having proclaimed the Truth.
Yakūnu zimāmu al-‘ālamīna jamī‘ihimu
Bi-aydī rijālin bil-‘ulūmi tamak-kanū
The leadership of all the worlds will be in the hands of men who have become firmly established in the sciences.
Fa-ya’tī Masīḥun wal-rijālu rijāluhu
Bi-dīni al-Imāmi al-Hāshimī yataday-yanu
Then the Messiah (Jesus) shall come, and the men will be his men, practicing the religion of the Hashemite Imam (Muhammad).
Hunālika ‘amma al-fayḍu lā shakka lan tarā
Siwā ‘ārifin bil-Lāhi wash-shar‘u mut-qanu
At that time, the Spiritual Flood (Fayda) will spread—without a doubt, you will see none but the Gnostics of Allah, and the Sacred Law will be perfected.
Fa-yakhtimu ‘Īsā lā takūnu wilāyatun
Bu‘ayda mamāti al-Rūḥi fal-khayru yud-fanu
Jesus shall be the Seal; there will be no Sainthood (Wilaya) after the death of the Spirit (Jesus), for all goodness will then be buried.
Fa-in lam yakun man yadhkuru Allāha zalzalat
Zalāzilu sā‘ātin wa-nādā al-mu’adh-dhinu
For if there is no longer anyone left to remember Allah, the earthquakes of the Final Hour will shake, and the Caller will cry out.
Fa-yā rabbi ḥaq-qiq bil-Amīni rajā’anā
Famā lī siwā an as’ala Allāha ma‘-danu
O my Lord, fulfill our hopes through the Trustworthy One, for I have no source to ask from but Allah.
‘Alayhi ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu
Ṣalātan bihā lid-dīni qaṣrī ma’manu
Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace; a prayer through which my castle becomes a sanctuary for the religion.
‘Alayhi ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu
Wa-ālin wa-ṣaḥbin wal-ladhīna qad aḥsanū
Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace, and upon the family, the companions, and those who have acted with excellence.
