# Harfuz Zwaa · حَرْفُ الظَّاءِ

**1.** ظَعَنْــــتُ وَحُبَّ الْـهَاشِمِــــيِّ أُحَافِـــظُ / إِلَى الْحَضْـــــرَةِ الْعَلْيَــا وَرَبِّيَ حَافِــظُ

_Ẓa‘antu wa-ḥubba al-Hāshimiyyi uḥāfiẓu / Ila al-ḥaḍrati al-‘ulyā wa-rabbī ḥāfiẓu_

I have set out on my journey while safeguarding the love of the Hashemite, toward the Sublime Presence, and my Lord is my Protector.

**2.** وَلاَ أَنْثَنِي عَنْ ذِكْرِ طَــــهَ وَمَدْحِــــهِ / مُرُورَ زَمَانِـــــي أَوْ يَؤُوبَـــنَّ قَــارِظُ

_Wa-lā anthanī ‘an dhikri Ṭāhā wa-mad-ḥihi / Murūra zamānī aw ya’ūbanna qāriẓu_

I shall never turn away from the remembrance of Taha and his praise, as long as time passes or until the "gatherer of pods" returns [i.e., until the end of time].

**3.** صَلاَتِي وَصَوْمِي ثُمَّ حَجِّي بِذِكْرِهِ / وَأَذْكُرُهُ مَهْمَــــــا دَعَتْنِي الْمَوَاعِــظُ

_Ṣalātī wa-ṣawmī thumma ḥajjī bi-dhikrihi / Wa-adhkuruhu mahmā da‘atnī al-mawā‘iẓu_

My prayer, my fasting, and my pilgrimage are all entwined with his remembrance; and I mention him whenever the admonitions call me.

**4.** أُحِبُّ رَسُـــــولَ اللّٰهِ حَقًّـــا وَإِنَّنِـــي / عَلَى حُبِّهِ مَا دُمْتُ مِمَّــــنْ يُحَافِـــظُ

_Uḥibbu Rasūla Allāhi ḥaqqan wa-innanī / ‘Ala ḥubbihi mā dumtu mimman yuḥāfiẓu_

I truly love the Messenger of Allah, and indeed, as long as I remain, I am among those who safeguard his love.

**5.** أَهِيمُ بِهِ مَا عِشْتُ دَهْرِي وَكَيْفَ لاَ / وَعَيْـــنُ عِنَايَـــاتِي لِجَنْبِي تُلاَحِــظُ

_Ahīmu bihi mā ‘ishtu dahrī wa-kayfa lā / Wa-‘aynu ‘ināyātī li-janbī tulāḥiẓu_

I wander ecstatically in his love as long as I live; and how could I not, when the eye of Divine providence is watching over me?

**6.** عَلَيْـــــهِ صَـــلاَةُ اللّٰهِ ثُــــمَّ سَلاَمُــهُ / فَإِنِّي بِذِكْرَاهُ مَــــدَى الدَّهْرِ لاَفِـــظُ

_‘Alayhi ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu / Fa-innanī bi-dhikrāhu madā al-dahri lāfiẓu_

Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace; for indeed, I shall be uttering his remembrance for all of eternity.

**7.** عَلَيْــهِ صَــــلاَةُ اللّٰهِ ثُــــمَّ سَلاَمُـــهُ / فَذَاكَ رَسُولٌ نَاصِحُ الْخَلْقِ وَاعِــظُ

_‘Alayhi ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu / Fa-dhāka Rasūlun nāṣiḥu al-khalqi wā‘iẓu_

Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace; for he is the Messenger who is the sincere counselor and advisor to all creation.

**8.** عَلَيْــــهِ صَــــلاَةُ اللّٰهِ ثُـــمَّ سَلاَمُــهُ / لِأَبْقَى وَإِنِّــي قَارِئُ الذِّكْرِ حَافِــظُ

_‘Alayhi ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu / Li-abqā wa-innī qāri’u al-dhikri ḥāfiẓu_

Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace; that I may endure while being a reciter and a preserver of the Remembrance (Quran).

**9.** عَلَيْـــــهِ صَــــلاَةُ اللّٰهِ ثُـــــمَّ سَلاَمُــــهُ / عَلَى الصَّلَوَاتِ الْخَمْسِ دَهْرِي أُحَافِظُ

_‘Alayhi ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu / ‘Ala al-ṣalawāti al-khamsi dahrī uḥāfiẓu_

Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace; that I may safeguard the five daily prayers throughout my life.

**10.** عَلَيْــــــهِ مَعَ الْآلِ الْكِـــرَامِ وَصَحْبِــهِ / وَمَنْ أَمْسَكُوا الدِّينَ الْقَوِيمَ وَحَافَظُوا

_‘Alayhi ma‘a al-āli al-kirāmi wa-ṣaḥbihi / Wa-man amsakū al-dīna al-qawīma wa-ḥāfaẓū_

Upon him, along with the noble family and his companions, and all those who held fast to the upright religion and preserved it.
