Harful Dhaal ·
From Ad-Dawaawiinu s-Sitta · الدواوين الست by Sheikh Ibrahim Nyass
Dhalīlun ḥaqīrun ākhidhan ḥubbaka ghidhā
Atā mustaghīthan ḥadhwa man qablahu ḥadhā
Humble and lowly, taking your love as my nourishment, he has come seeking succor, following the path of those who went before him.
Fa-anta aba al-ajwādi maṣrifu mid-ḥatī
Mina al-‘abdi Bar-hāma al-ḥaqīri al-thanā khudhā
For you, O father of the generous, are the destination of my praise; from the lowly servant Ibrahim, accept this extolling.
Talawtu thanā’a al-Ḥaqqi jalla jalāluhu
‘Alayka famā yughnī al-maṣāqi‘u ba‘da dhā
I have recited the praise of the Truth (Allah)—Exalted is His Majesty—upon you; so what use are the most eloquent orators after that?
Taqabbal thanā Bar-hāma ajzil ‘aṭā’ahu
Fa-innaka mi‘ṭā’u al-jazīli wa-lā adhā
Accept the praise of Ibrahim and magnify his reward, for you are the giver of abundance without causing any reproach.
‘Alayhi ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu
Ṣalātan arā al-Māḥī lidhā al-‘abdi munqidhā
Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace; a prayer through which I see the Eraser as the rescuer for this servant.
‘Alayhi ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu
Yakūnu hawa al-Māḥī madā al-dahri lī ghidhā
Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace; may the love of the Eraser remain my nourishment for all of eternity.
‘Alayhi ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu
Wa-ālin wa-asḥābin arā al-kulla jihbidhā
Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace, and upon the family and companions, every one of whom I see as a brilliant master.
