# Harfuz Za'y · حَرْفُ الزَّايِ

**1.** زَمَانِــــي رَمَانِـــي وَالْأَمِينُ بِهِ الْفَــوْزُ / وَهُو مَرْكَزِي مَا ضَرَّنِي الْـهَمْزُ وَللَّمْـزُ

_Zamānī ramānī wal-Amīnu bihi al-fawzu / Wa-huwa markazī mā ḍarranī al-hamzu wal-lamzu_

My time has afflicted me, but in the Trustworthy One is triumph; he is my Center, so the whispering and slandering [of enemies] do not harm me.

**2.** أَحَـــــاطَ بِسِـــرِّ الْحَـــقِّ أَيَّ إِحَاطَــةٍ / بِكُلِّ فُهُومٍ وَالْمَعَانِـــــي وَهُـــو الْكَنْــزُ

_Aḥāṭa bi-sirri al-ḥaqqi ayya iḥāṭatin / Bi-kulli fuhūmin wal-ma‘ānī wa-huwa al-kanzu_

He has encompassed the secret of the Truth with a total encompassing, in every understanding and meaning—for he is the Treasure.

**3.** فَنُورٌ بِهِ الْأَنْوَارُ فِـــي الْكَـــوْنِ كُلِّــهِ / وَآدَمُ مِنْ ذَا النُّـــورِ بَانَ لَهُ الرَّمْــزُ

_Fa-nūrun bi-hi al-anwāru fī al-kawni kullihi / Wa-Ādamu min dhā al-nūri bāna lahu al-ramzu_

He is a light by which all other lights in the universe exist; and from this light, the symbolic reality of Adam became manifest.

**4.** مَتَى سَطَعَ الْبَــرْقُ الْوَمِيضُ مُحَمَّـــدٌ / تَدَلَّتْ مُزُونُ الرِّبْحِ وَاسْتَوْطَــنَ الْعِزُّ

_Matā saṭa‘a al-barqu al-wamīḍu Muḥammadu / Tadallat muzūnu al-ribḥi was-tawṭana al-‘izzu_

Whenever the flashing lightning—Muhammad—shines, the rain-clouds of profit descend and glory takes up its residence.

**5.** تَعَرَّضَ لِلسَّيْبِ الْبُحُــــورُ وَقَدْ مَــلاَ / كَذَاكَ الْأَوَانِي عِنْــدَ ذَا عَمَّنَــا الْفَــوْزُ

_Ta‘arraḍa lis-saybi al-buḥūru wa-qad malā / Kadhalika al-awānī ‘inda dhā ‘ammanā al-fawzu_

The oceans exposed themselves to his pouring bounty and were filled; likewise were the vessels, and at that moment, triumph encompassed us all.

**6.** وَقَدْ لَمَــعَ النُّــورُ الْمُحِيـــطُ لِكَوْنِنَــا / بِكُلِّ مَكَانٍ مَنْ أُذِلُّوا وَمَـــنْ عَــزُّوا

_Wa-qad lama‘a al-nūru al-muḥīṭu li-kawninā / Bi-kulli makānin man udhillū wa-man ‘azzū_

The "Encompassing Light" of our universe has shimmered in every place—for those who were humbled and those who were honored.

**7.** فَـعَيْنُكَ عَيْنُ الْحَقِّ عَـــرْشُ حَقِيقَـةٍ / بِهِ يُجْتَلَى الْعِرْفَانُ وَالسِّرُّ وَالْمَيْزُ

_Fa-‘aynuka ‘aynu al-ḥaqqi ‘arshu ḥaqīqatin / Bi-hi yujtalā al-‘irfānu was-sirru wal-mayzu_

For your eye is the "Eye of the Truth" and the "Throne of Reality"; through it, Gnosis, the Secret, and Distinction are made clear.

**8.** قِفَا نُسْقَ مِنْ عَيْـــــنِ الْمَعَــارِفِ أَحْمَــدٍ / فَيَا وَيْحَ مَنْ عَاصَاهُ يَا وَيْحَ مَنْ يَغْــزُوا

_Qifā nus-qa min ‘ayni al-ma‘ārifi Aḥmada / Fa-yā wayḥa man ‘āṣāhu yā wayḥa man yaghzū_

Stop! Let us be given to drink from the spring of Gnosis, Ahmad; woe to the one who disobeys him, and woe to the one who attacks him.

**9.** صِرَاطٌ إِلَى رَبِّ الْبَرِيَّةِ مَـــنْ يَحِــــدْ / يُخَيَّبْ ، وَيَنْحُو نَحْوَهُ الْخِزْيُ وَالْبَـزُّ

_Ṣirāṭun ila rabbi al-bariyyati man yaḥid / Yukhayyab, wa-yanḥū naḥwahu al-khizyu wal-bazzu_

He is the path to the Lord of creation; whoever deviates from it is disappointed, and disgrace and stripping-away turn toward him.

**10.** كَمَــالُ اعْتِدَالٍ لاَاعْوِجَـــاجَ يَشِينُــهُ / وَطَلْعَةُ وَجْهِ الْحَقِّ وَالْفَيْضُ وَالْكَنْــزُ

_Kamālu-‘tidālin lā-‘wijāja yashīnuhu / Wa-ṭal‘atu waj-hi al-ḥaqqi wal-fayḍu wal-kanzu_

He is the perfection of uprightness, marred by no crookedness; the appearance of the Face of Truth, the Spiritual Flood, and the Treasure.

**11.** إِفَاضَتُـــــهُ مِنْـــــهُ إِلَيْـــهِ وَإِنَّــهُ / لَسِرٌّ لَدَى أَهْلِ الْحَقَائِـــقِ وَاللُّغْــزُ

_Ifāḍatuhu minhu ilayhi wa-innahu / La-sirrun lada ahli al-ḥaqā’iqi wal-lughzu_

His "Overflowing" (Ifada) is from him and back to him; and indeed, this is a secret and a riddle to the People of Realities.

**12.** وَصَلَّى عَلَيْهِ مِنْــــهُ بَـــدْءًا وَمَخْتَمًــا / صَلاَةً عَلَى الْهَادِي بِهَا اتَّضَحَ الرَّمْــزُ

_Wa-ṣallā ‘alayhi minhu bad-’an wa-makhtaman / Ṣalātan ‘ala al-Hādī bihā-ttaḍaḥa al-ramzu_

He (Allah) has sent blessings upon him from the beginning to the end; a prayer upon the Guide through which the symbols have become clear.
