# Harfush Shiin · حَرْفُ الشِّينِ

**1.** شِفَائِي شَقَا أَهْلِ الْإِبَايَةِ وَالْفُحْــشِ / وَذَاكَ كِتَابٌ قَدْ أَتَانَا مِنَ الْعَـرْشِ

_Shifā’ī shaqā ahli al-ibāyati wal-fuḥ-shī / Wa-dhāka kitābun qad atānā mina al-‘ar-shī_

My healing lies in the [avoidance of] wretchedness of the people of defiance and obscenity; and that is through a Book that has come to us from the Throne.

**2.** شَرَعْتَ لَنَــا يَـا مُصْطَفًى قَائِدًا بِـهِ / ذَوِي الْفَوْزِ وَالرِّضْوَانِ طَرْدَ ذَوِي الْفُحْشِ

_Shara‘ta lanā yā Muṣṭafā qā’idan bihi / Dhawī al-fawzi wal-riḍwāni ṭarda dhawī al-fuḥ-shī_

You have legislated for us, O Chosen One, acting as a leader through it for the people of triumph and pleasure, while repelling the people of obscenity.

**3.** شُرُوقُ شُمُوسِ الْهَدْيِ فَاللَّيْلُ مُقْمِـــرٌ / كَيَوْمٍ فَسِرْ وَقْتِي إِلَى الْعَرْشِ لِلْفَرْشِ

_Shurūqu shumūsi al-hadyi fal-laylu muq-mirun / Ka-yawmin fasir waqtī ila al-‘ar-shi lil-far-shī_

The suns of guidance have risen, so the night is illuminated like a day; so my time travels from the Throne down to the Earth.

**4.** شَمَمْنَا بِهِ رَيَّـــــا السَّعَـــادَةِ نَقْتَفِــي / رَسُولاً هَـدَانَا نَحْفَظُ السِّرَّ لاَ نُفْشِي

_Shamam-nā bihi rayyā al-sa‘ādati naq-tafī / Rasūlan hadānā naḥ-faẓu al-sirra lā nuf-shī_

Through him, we have smelled the fragrance of happiness, as we follow a Messenger who guided us; we preserve the secret and do not disclose it.

**5.** تَعَالَوْا إِلَى النَّهْجِ السَّــــوِيِّ لِنَعْبُــدَنْ / إِلَـــهًا بَـــرَانَا لاَ لِسَنْتٍ وَلاَ مَنْــشِ

_Ta‘ālaw ila al-nahji al-sawiyyi li-na‘budan / Ilāhan barānā lā li-santin wa-lā man-shī_

Come to the upright path so that we may worship a God who created us—not for any triviality or vanity.

**6.** شَفَا جُرُفٍ هَارٍ مَتَى انْهَارَ لَنْ تَرَى / سَبِيلَ سَلاَمٍ غَيْرَ خِزْيٍ مَعَ الْخَــدْشِ

_Shafā jurufin hārin matā-nhāra lan tarā / Sabīla salāmin ghayra khiz-yin ma‘a al-khad-shī_

[It is like] the brink of a crumbling precipice; once it collapses, you will see no way of safety, only disgrace and injury.

**7.** فَيَا وَيْحَ مَنْ أَمْسَـى مُحَمَّـــدُ خَصْمَهُ / لَدَى يَوْمِ حَشْرِ الْجِنِّ وَالْإِنْسِ وَالْوَحْشِ

_Fa-yā wayḥa man amsā Muḥammadu khaṣ-mahu / Lada yawmi ḥash-ri al-jinni wal-insi wal-waḥ-shī_

Woe to the one who finds Muhammad to be his adversary on the Day of the Gathering of jinn, men, and beasts.

**8.** عَلَيْـــــــهِ صَــــلاَةُ اللّٰهِ ثُـــمَّ سَلاَمُـــهُ / بِهَا رَفْعُ إِخْوَانِي وَصَحْبِي كَذَا كِرْشِي

_‘Alayhi ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu / Bihā raf-‘u ikhwānī wa-ṣaḥ-bī kadhā kir-shī_

Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace; through it is the elevation of my brothers, my companions, and my family.

**9.** عَلَيْــــهِ صَــــلاَةُ اللّٰهِ ثُـــــمَّ سَلاَمُـــــهُ / صَلاَةً بِهَا نَنْجُو مِنَ الْخِزْيِ وَالْبَطْـــشِ

_‘Alayhi ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu / Ṣalātan bihā nanjū minal-khiz-yi wal-baṭ-shī_

Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace; a prayer through which we are saved from disgrace and [Divine] seizure.

**10.** عَلَيْــــهِ صَــــلاَةُ اللّٰهِ ثُــــمَّ سَلاَمُـــهُ / أَكُونُ وَأَحْبَابِي عَلَى نَهْجِهِ نَمْشِــي

_‘Alayhi ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu / Akūnu wa-aḥbābī ‘ala nahjihi nam-shī_

Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace; may I and my beloveds continue to walk upon his path.

**11.** عَلَيْــــهِ صَــــلاَةُ اللّٰهِ ثُــــمَّ سَلاَمُـــهُ / وَيَحْلُو مَمَاتِي ثُمَّ يَحْلُو كَذَا عَيْشِي

_‘Alayhi ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu / Wa-yaḥlū mamātī thumma yaḥlū kadhā ‘ay-shī_

Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace; may my death be sweet, and likewise, may my life be sweet.

**12.** عَلَيْـــــهِ صَــــلاَةُ اللّٰهِ ثُــــمَّ سَلاَمُـــهُ / وَآلٍ وَصَحْبٍ مَا هُدَى أَحْمَدٍ يَمْشِي

_‘Alayhi ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu / Wa-ālin wa-ṣaḥ-bin mā huda Aḥmadin yam-shī_

Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace, and upon the family and companions, as long as the guidance of Ahmad continues to spread.
