Harful Ghayn ·
From Ad-Dawaawiinu s-Sitta · الدواوين الست by Sheikh Ibrahim Nyass
Ghadan atakhallā ‘an humūmin uballighu
Madīḥa ḥabībī wa-hiya nu‘māya tusbaghu
Tomorrow, I shall cast away all worries and convey the praise of my Beloved, through which my blessings shall be made complete.
Gharāmī jamī‘an lil-Madīnati idh na’at
Diyārī fahal yā qad tarānī uballighu
All my ecstatic love is for Medina; since my own lands are far, will you truly see me reaching it?
Ghināya bi-hā ‘ay-shī bi-hā ladhdhatī bi-hā
Atā-hā Rasūlu al-‘ālamīna al-muballighu
My wealth is there, my life is there, my pleasure is there—the city to which the Messenger of the worlds, the Conveyor, came.
Ghalīliya lā yurwā bi-ghayri ma‘īnihā
Wa-inna shifā’ī turbuhā idh umarrighu
My burning thirst cannot be quenched except by its fresh springs; and my healing is in its soil when I rub my face in it.
Ghawā wa-‘adā man qad yalūmu bi-ḥubbihā
Wa-aqdhifuhu bil-ḥaqqi fī al-ḥīni yudmaghu
He has gone astray and transgressed, the one who blames me for loving her; I strike him with the Truth, and he is instantly crushed.
Ghurūrun hawan yad‘ū li-rab‘i siwā-hā
Fa-layta fu’ādī fī hawā tilka yuṣbaghu
It is but a delusion and a whim that calls to any dwelling other than hers; would that my heart be permanently dyed in the love of that city!
‘Alā sākinī wādī al-‘Aqīqi taḥiyyatī
Wa-in ash-harūnī wal-madāmi‘a far-raghū
Upon the dwellers of the Valley of al-Aqiq be my greetings, even if they have kept me awake and emptied my tears.
‘Alā Aḥmada al-Mukhtāri min ‘indi rabbihi
Ṣalātun wa-taslīmun mina Allāhi mablaghu
Upon Ahmad, the Chosen One from his Lord, be a prayer and peace from Allah that reaches its fullest extent.
