# Harful Qaaf · حَرْفُ الْقَافِ

**1.** قَدِ اسْتَغْرَقَ الْـهَادِي فُؤَادِي وَقَدْ مَحَقْ / سِوَاهُ بِقَلْبِي حَالَــةَ السَّحْقِ وَالْمَحَـــــقْ

_Qad istaghraqa al-Hādī fu’ādī wa-qad mahaq / Siwā-hu bi-qalbī ḥālata al-saḥ-qi wal-mahaq_

The Guide (the Prophet) has completely immersed my heart and has erased everything besides him from my heart, in a state of total crushing and annihilation.

**2.** فَكَانَ مَعَاشِــــي وَانْتِعَاشِـــي بِذِكْــرِهِ / فَقُولُوا جِهَــارًا إِنَّ بَرْهَامَ قَدْ عَشِـــقْ

_Fa-kāna ma‘āshī wan-ti‘āshī bi-dhikrihi / Fa-qūlū jihāran inna Bar-hāma qad ‘ashiq_

My livelihood and my spiritual revival are through his remembrance; so say openly that Ibrahim has indeed fallen in love!

**3.** نَهَـــارِي كَلَيْلِي لاَ أَنِيــــسَ سِـــوَاؤُهُ / بِقَلْبِي دَوَامًا فَهْوَ بِالْمُصْطَفَى عَلِــــقْ

_Nahārī ka-laylī lā anīsa siwā’uhu / Bi-qalbī dawāman fahuwa bil-Muṣṭafā ‘aliq_

My day is like my night; I have no intimate companion besides him; my heart is perpetually attached to the Chosen One.

**4.** بِطَـــهَ أُعَـــادِي لاَ أُوَالِــــي بِغَيْـــرِهِ / فَحُبِّي وَبُغْضِي فِيهِ دَهْرًا كَمَنْ صَدَقْ

_Bi-Ṭāhā u‘ādī lā uwālī bi-ghayrihi / Fa-ḥubbī wa-bugh-ḍī fīhi dahran ka-man ṣadaq_

For the sake of Taha I show enmity, and I offer loyalty to none but him; thus my love and my hate are for his sake forever, like one who is truthful.

**5.** تَرَى جَمْعَ أَحْبَابِي وَذَا الْجَمْعُ مُفْــرَدٌ / وَشَمْلُ عَدُوِّي بَاطِـلٌ حَالَ وَانْمَحَــقْ

_Tarā jam‘a aḥbābī wa-dhā al-jam‘u mufradun / Wa-sham-lu ‘aduwwī bāṭilun ḥāla wan-mahaq_

You see the gathering of my beloveds, and this gathering is unique; while the ranks of my enemies are falsehood, transformed and erased.

**6.** بِمَدْحِي لِخَيْرِ الْخَلْـــقِ فَرَّقْتُ شَمْلَ مَـنْ / يُنَابِذُ دِيـــنَ الْـهَاشِمِـيِّ وَمَـــنْ مَــرَقْ

_Bi-mad-ḥī li-khayri al-khal-qi farraq-tu sham-la man / Yunābidhu dīna al-Hāshimiyyi wa-man maraq_

Through my praise for the Best of Creation, I have scattered the ranks of those who oppose the religion of the Hashemite and those who have defected.

**7.** عَلَيْـــــهِ صَــــلاَةُ اللّٰهِ ثُــــمَّ سَلاَمُـــهُ / أَفُوتُ بِهَا مَنْ فَاتَ قَبْلِي وَمَنْ لَحِـقْ

_‘Alayhi ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu / Afūtu bi-hā man fāta qablī wa-man laḥiq_

Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace; through it, I surpass those who went before me and those who follow.

**8.** عَلَيْــــهِ صَـــــلاَةُ اللّٰهِ ثُــــمَّ سَلاَمُــهُ / بِهَا الْعَبْدُ إِبْرَاهِيمُ لِلْمُصْطَفَى سَبَـــقْ

_‘Alayhi ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu / Bihā al-‘abdu Ibrāhīmu lil-Muṣṭafā sabaq_

Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace; through it, the servant Ibrahim has raced toward the Chosen One.

**9.** عَلَيْــــهِ صَــــلاَةُ اللّٰهِ ثُـــمَّ سَلاَمُـــهُ / بِهَــا مُزْنُ أَرْبَاحٍ نَشِيمُ لَنَـا بَـرَقْ

_‘Alayhi ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu / Bihā muznu arbāḥin nashīmu lanā baraq_

Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace; through it, the rain-clouds of spiritual profits have appeared to us like lightning.

**10.** عَلَيْهِ مَـــعَ الْآلِ الْكِـــرَامِ وَصَحْبِــهِ / إِلَى أَبَــدِ الْآبَــادِ مَــــا نَاطِقٌ نَطَـــقْ

_‘Alayhi ma‘a al-āli al-kirāmi wa-ṣaḥ-bihi / Ila abadi al-ābādi mā nāṭiqun naṭaq_

Upon him, along with the noble family and his companions, until the end of eternity, as long as any speaker speaks.
