_Malā al-qalba ḥubbu al-Hāshimiyyi falam anam / Bi-Bārīsa ḥawlī al-rāqidūna wa-lam ulam_

Love for the Hashemite has filled my heart, so I did not sleep; in Paris, those around me were slumbering, yet I am not to be blamed.

_Li-anna jamālan fī al-wujūdi bi-asrihi / Idhā ẓahara al-maḥbūbu fī al-ḥīni yankatim_

For indeed, all the beauty in existence, in its entirety, is hidden the moment the Beloved appears.

_Fal-anwāru wal-alwānu wal-raq-ṣu wal-ghinā / Tudhak-kiru arbāba al-baṣā’iri bil-Qutham_

The lights, colors, dancing, and singing [of the city] remind the possessors of insight of the "Qutham" (a name of the Prophet ﷺ).

_Quṣūru al-mulūki al-ṣīdi wal-jisru wal-liwā / Tudhak-kiru man fīhi al-nubuwwatu qad khutim_

The palaces of the proud kings, the bridges, and the banners—they remind whoever is mindful of him through whom Prophethood was sealed.

_Falam tunsinī al-ayyāmu maghnan bi-Ṭaybatin / Bi-hi kullu amlāki al-Muhaymini kal-khadam_

Days have not made me forget the dwelling in Medina (Tayba), where all the angels of the All-Dominant act as servants.

_Wa-lam tunsinī al-ayyāmu waqtī musalliman / ‘Alā Aḥmada wal-dam‘u minnī yansajim_

Days have not made me forget my time offering greetings to Ahmad, while my tears flowed in harmony.

_Wa-lam tunsinī al-ayyāmu miḥrāba Aḥmada / Wa-minbarahu al-fakhma al-munīra fa-qad ḍakhum_

Days have not made me forget the mihrab (prayer niche) of Ahmad and his magnificent, illuminating pulpit (minbar), for it is truly great.

_Wa-lam tunsinī al-ayyāmu waqtī jālisun / Ma‘a al-aghawāti al-ghurri wal-fikru qad wajam_

Days have not made me forget my time sitting with the noble Aghawat (guardians of the Prophet's mosque), while my thoughts were lost in awe.

I enter the Gardens of Bliss without having died, through the blessing of my beloved; that is the pinnacle of favors.

_Aqūlu wa-innī dhū ḥayā’in wa-dhillatin / Wa-lā budda min shakwā wa-qalbī akhū alam_

I speak, though I am filled with shyness and lowliness; but a complaint must be made, and my heart is a brother to pain.

_Alā yā Rasūla Allāhi ‘abdun mughaffalun / Taḥammala awzāran wa-ghayraka lam yarum_

O Messenger of Allah! Here is a heedless servant who has carried burdens [of sin], and has sought none but you.

_Falam ya’ti ‘abdun bil-jarā’imi zā’iran / Maqāmaka mithlī fī al-qurūni wa-fī al-umam_

No servant has ever come as a visitor to your station with such crimes as mine, throughout the centuries and among the nations.

_Wa-qad shāba qarnī wa-huwa dhā al-‘aybu zā’idun / Famā aswa’a al-‘iṣyāna wal-shaybu fī al-limam_

My hair has turned gray, and this defect [of sin] only increases; how terrible is disobedience when gray hair is upon the locks.

_Wa-mā aswa’a al-‘āṣī maṣūnan munā‘aman / Yuqārifu naw‘an min dhunūbin wa-law lamam_

How terrible is the sinner who is protected and favored, yet commits sins, even if they be small.

_Falaw taḥmilu al-ayyāmu mā al-‘abdu ḥāmilun / La-aẓlamati al-arjā’u bidh-dhanbi wal-ẓulam_

If the days were to carry what this servant carries, the horizons would turn dark with sin and oppression.

_Fa-yā rabbi faghfir lī wa-tahdī fu’āda man / Yuḥibbu al-ladhī aḥbabtahu Muṣṭafā al-umam_

O my Lord! Forgive me, and guide the heart of whoever loves the one You loved—the Chosen One of the nations.

_Wa-tahdī bi-hi ajnāsa khal-qika war-fa‘an / Bi-hi rāyata al-islāmi wal-taksiri al-ṣanam_

Guide through him the various types of Your creation; and raise through him the banner of Islam and shatter the idols.

_Wa-zid-hu minal-‘ilmi al-sharīfi wa-qif bi-hi / Lada al-Muṣṭafā yulqī ila al-Muṣṭafā al-salam_

Increase him in noble knowledge, and let him stand before the Chosen One, offering his submission to the Chosen One.

_Salāmun ‘alā dhāka al-Rasūli Muḥammadin / Salāmun ‘alā Ṭāhā salāmun ‘alā al-Qutham_

Peace be upon that Messenger Muhammad; peace be upon Taha; peace be upon the Qutham.

_Salāmun ‘alā al-Māḥī al-ḍalāla mubash-shiran / Salāmun ‘alā al-Hādī bi-hi tuskabu al-diyam_

Peace be upon the Eraser of misguidance, the Bringer of glad tidings; peace be upon the Guide through whom the heavy rains pour.

_Salāmun ‘alā al-nūri al-Amīni wa-innanī / Takhidhtu madīḥa al-Muṣṭafā al-dahra lī qisam_

Peace be upon the Trustworthy Light; and indeed, I have made the praise of the Chosen One my lifelong portion.

_Salāmun ‘alā al-Ma’mūni Aḥmada nāṣirī / Salāmun ‘alā al-Maḥmūdi wal-nāru taḍ-ṭarim_

Peace be upon the Trustworthy Ahmad, my supporter; peace be upon the Praised One while the Fire is raging.

_Salāma muḥibbin muq-ṣirin laysa ‘āmilan / Bi-miṣdāqi da‘wā ḥubbihi mun-taqā al-umam_

The peace of a lover who has fallen short and is not acting according to the truth of his claim of love for the elite of the nations.

_Salāma muḥibbin shaṭṭa ‘anhu mazāruhu / Fa-ṣāra yuḥayyī af-ḍala al-nāsi bil-qalam_

The peace of a lover whose place of visit is far from him; so he has taken to greeting the best of people with his pen.

_Salāmun ‘alayhi min khadīmin mutayyamin / ‘Alā al-jawwi fī tayhā Urubbā wa-Sint-Jam_

Peace be upon him from a captivated servant, high in the air over the wilderness of Europe and Saint-Germain.

_Salāmun ‘alayhi min Barīsa wa-qad ‘alā / Lada Mur-salliyyā al-ā’ibūna ‘alā al-qimam_

Peace be upon him from Paris, while those returning over the mountain peaks have risen high at Marseille (Mursalliyya).

_Bi-ṭā’iratin ḥawlī Naṣārā wa-innanī / Lada Ṭaybata al-gharrā wa-kam lī bi-hā wa-kam_

On an airplane, surrounded by Christians, yet I am with the radiant Medina—how much I owe to her, how much!

_Salāmun mina Allāhi al-jalīli jalāluhu / ‘Alā al-Muṣṭafā yarnū ila al-‘abdi yabtasim_

Peace from Allah, the Majestic, be upon the Chosen One; he gazes at the servant and smiles.

_Yubash-shiruhu al-Bārī bi-mad-ḥiya rāḍiyan / ‘An al-‘abdi mukhtāru al-bariyyati lam yalum_

The Creator gladdens him with my praise, being pleased with the servant; the Elite of creation does not blame.

_Fa-ṣirtu ‘alā mā qad janaytu mufaḍ-ḍalan / Ḥabība Rasūli Allāhi fī mawkibi al-khadam_

So I became, despite what I committed, a favored one; a beloved of the Messenger of Allah in the procession of servants.

_Fa-ṣirtu bi-dhā aṭwī al-maqāmāti ṭā’iran / Ila ḥaḍratin kullu al-ḥijābi bi-hā-n-qaṣam_

Thus I began to traverse the spiritual stations, flying to a Presence where every veil has been torn asunder.

_Faqadtu bi-hā naf-sī wa-faq-dī matā badā / Jamālu jalālin ṣayyara al-kulla kal-‘adam_

I lost my "self" within it; and when my "loss" appeared, the beauty of Majesty turned everything into non-existence.

_Fa-ṣirtu bi-hā aḥyā madā al-dahri khālidan / Khalaṣtu mina al-aswā’i wal-shar-ri wal-saqam_

So I became one who lives forever within it; I was saved from evils, harm, and illness.

_Bi-hi wa-ilayhi fīhi ‘anhu taṣarrufī / Murādī murādu al-Ḥaqqi wal-‘abdu kal-qalam_

Through him, toward him, in him, and from him is my conduct; my desire is the desire of the Truth, and the servant is like the pen [in God's hand].

_Fa-ṭawran lada bayti al-ilāhi wa-tāratan / Lada al-Muṣṭafā al-Maḥmūdi wal-qalbu muḍ-ṭarim_

At times at the House of God (the Kaaba), and at times with the Praised Chosen One, while the heart is burning.

_Wa-ṭawran lada ḥūri al-jināni wa-tāratan / Akhūḍu ma‘a al-aqwāmi wal-kullu qad ‘udim_

At times with the Hoor of the Gardens, and at times I dive with the people [of the world] while everything has been negated.

_Hunāka tasāwā man yurīdu manāfi‘ī / Wa-man rāma ḍurrī lastu akhshā wa-lam ulam_

There, the one who wants to benefit me and the one who intends me harm are equal; I do not fear and I am not blamed.

_‘Alā Aḥmada al-Mukhtāri min ‘indi rabbihi / Ṣalātun wa-taslīmun bi-hā tur-fa‘u al-niqam_

Upon Ahmad the Chosen, from his Lord, be a prayer and peace through which all afflictions are lifted.

_Ṣalātun wa-taslīmun madā al-dahri shākiran / Li-na‘mā’i mawlan shuk-ruhu al-dahra yan-ḥatim_

A prayer and peace throughout eternity, as a grateful one for the favors of a Master whose thanks is mandatory forever.

_‘Alayhi ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu / Wa-shuk-rī wa-taslīmī wa-mad-ḥī lahu ni‘am_

Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace; my thanks, my greeting, and my praise for him are blessings.

_‘Alayhi ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu / A-taqbalunī yā Muṣṭafā al-kawni an na‘am_

Will you accept me, O Chosen One of the universe? I say: Yes!

_‘Alayhi ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu / Taqīnī al-‘amā wal-ḍu‘fa wal-‘uq-ma wal-ṣamam_

Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace; may it protect me from blindness, weakness, infertility, and deafness.

_‘Alayhi ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu / Taqīniya shar-ra al-faq-ri wal-jah-li wal-waham_

Upon him be the prayer of Allah and then His peace; may it protect me from the evil of poverty, ignorance, and delusion.

_‘Alayhi ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu / Taqīniya shar-ra al-dayni wal-shū’mi wal-ghumam_

_‘Alayhi ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu / Taqīniya shar-ra al-bagh-yi wal-mak-ri wal-tuham_

_‘Alayhi ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu / Wa-taḥ-faẓu awlādī wa-takfīhim niqam_

And protect my children and spare them from afflictions.

I seek for my religion all that I seek—and it has been known.

_‘Alayhi ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu / Lada al-Magh-ribi al-aqṣā uḥayyīka yā Qutham_

_‘Alayhi ṣalātu Allāhi thumma salāmuhu / Anālu bi-hā unsan lada al-qab-ri wal-rimam_

I attain through it intimacy in the grave and among the remains.

_Ila baladī awban wa-tawban li-khāliqī / Wa-astaghfiru al-mawlā jamī‘a al-ladhī ‘alim_
