Ar-Raa Aydwan ·
From Ad-Dawaawiinu s-Sitta · الدواوين الست by Sheikh Ibrahim Nyass
Da‘awtu Rasūla rabbi al-khal-qi ṭurrā
Li-yash-fa‘a fiyya wa-yad-fa‘a mā aḍarrā
I called upon the Messenger of the Lord of all creation, to intercede for me and repel what has caused me harm.
Muḥammadu khayru khal-qi Allāhi ṭurrā
Mumiddu jamī‘ihim sirran wa-jahrā
Muhammad is the best of Allah's creation, entirely; the provider of aid to all of them, secretly and openly.
Bi-Aḥmada qad tawassala kullu ‘abdin
Anāla marāmahu wa-azāla ḍurrā
Through Ahmad, every servant has sought a means (Tawassul); attaining their goals and removing their afflictions.
Fa-Ādamu qad tawassala bil-Muqaffā
Wa-Nūḥun ba‘dahu wa-halumma jarrā
Even Adam sought a means through the "Followed One" (the Prophet), and Noah after him, and so on and so forth.
Li-hādhā yā ilāhī yā ilāhī
Arūmu bi-hi al-maṭāliba wa-hiya tatrā
For this reason, O my God, O my God! I seek my needs through him, and they come in succession.
Wa-qad ‘alima al-khalā’iqu anna Ṭāhā
Al-wasīlatu lī imāmu al-khal-qi ṭurrā
The creation has known that Taha is my means—the Imam of all creation.
Wathiqtu bi-hi wa-yah-wāhu fu’ādī
Wa-‘awwadanī al-jamīla anālu fakhrā
I have placed my trust in him, and my heart loves him; he has accustomed me to beauty, such that I attain glory.
Wa-a‘ṭānī al-jazīla bi-kulli ānin
Wa-jāwaranī bi-dhālika niltu sirrā
He has granted me abundantly at every moment, and he has neighbored me—through that, I attained a secret.
Wa-rāfaqanī bi-baḥ-rin aw bi-barrin
Wa-a‘lānī ‘ala al-aqwāmi birrā
He accompanied me by sea and by land, and he elevated me above nations in righteousness.
Muḥammadun wa-huwa rūḥu al-ḥamdi sirru
Al-wujūdi wa-dāfi‘u al-aṣnāmi kasrā
Muhammad—and he is the Spirit of Praise—is the Secret of Existence, and the crusher who repels the idols.
Muḥammadu mid-fa‘ī dahrī wa-dir‘ī
Wa-fī al-sarrā’i ‘uddatunā wa-ḍarrā
Muhammad is my cannon throughout time and my shield in times of ease and in times of distress, he is our preparation.
Muḥammadu sayyidī kanzī wa-ghawthī
Ḥabānī bil-murādi wa-zāda mayrā
Muhammad is my master, my treasure, and my rescue; he endowed me with my desire and increased my provisions.
Shifā’ī ‘inda amrāḍī wa-ghaythī
Wa-mus-tanadī li-dahrī ḥīna gharrā
My healing during my illnesses and my rain, my support for my life when it becomes deceptive.
Muḥammadu markazī wa-madāru amrī
‘Ala al-Maḥmūdi dunyā’ī wa-ukhrā
Muhammad is my center and the axis of my affairs; upon the "Praised One" (the Prophet) is my world and my hereafter.
Muḥammadu qudwatī wa-arāhu ḥasbī
Falā Zaydan wa-lā ‘Amran wa-Bakrā
Muhammad is my role model and I find him sufficient for me; i need not Zayd, nor 'Amr, nor Bakr (anyone else).
Nadīmī sunnatu al-Mukhtāri lā lā
‘Alā ghayri al-ḥadīthi arūmu khayrā
My intimate companion is the Sunnah of the Chosen One; no, indeed, I seek no good in anything other than the Hadith.
Sa-ar-fa‘uhā wa-aq-biḍuhā jihāran
‘Alā dhā fal-yalumnī al-nāsu ṭurrā
I shall raise it (the Sunnah) and hold fast to it openly; for this, let all the people blame me if they wish.
Idhā raḍiya al-Amīnu falā ubālī
A-dhamma siwāhu am aṭrā wa-aṭrā
If the "Trustworthy One" is pleased, I do not care whether others criticize or offer excessive praise.
Idhā kāna al-naṣību siwā al-Muqaffā
Fa-innī lā arā liya al-ḥaẓ-ẓa dahrā
If my portion were to be anything other than the "Followed One," then I would consider myself to have no fortune at all.
Ṣalātu Allāhi yatba‘uhā salāmun
‘Alā ‘abdin bi-hi mawlāhu asrā
May the prayer of Allah be followed by His peace, upon the servant with whom his Lord traveled by night (Isra).
Wa-ālin thumma aṣ-ḥābin kirāmin
Nujūmi al-muh-tadīna wa-law-hu naṣrā
And upon the family and noble companions, the stars of the guided ones who aided him.
