# Harful Daal · حَرْفُ الدَّالِ

**1.** يَا سَيِّدِي يَا رَسُــــولَ اللّٰهِ خُــذْ بِيَدِي / فَلَمْ أَجِدْ غَيْرَ خَيْرِ الْخَلْقِ لِي سَنَدِي

_Yā sayyidī yā Rasūla Allāhi khudh bi-yadī / Falam ajid ghayra khayri al-khalqi lī sanadī_

O my master, O Messenger of Allah, take my hand; I have found none besides the best of creation as my support.

**2.** وَيَسِّـــرَنَّ أُمُــورِي إِنَّنِي وَجِــلٌ / وَعَاجِزٌ وَذَلِيلٌ أَنْـــتَ مُعْتَمَــدِي

_Wa-yassiranna umūrī innanī wajilun / Wa-‘ājizun wa-dhalīlun anta mu‘tamadī_

And make easy my affairs, for I am fearful, helpless, and lowly; you are the one upon whom I rely.

**3.** وَشُدَّ فَقْرِي وَلاَ آوِي إِلَى أَحَـــدٍ / إِنِّي أَخُو ثِقَةٍ أَنْ تَأْخُذُوا بِيَــدِي

_Wa-shudda faqrī wa-lā āwī ila aḥadin / Innī akhū thiqatin an ta’khudhū bi-yadī_

Repair my poverty and let me not take refuge with anyone else; I am full of confidence that you will take my hand.

**4.** لَوْلاَكَ لَمْ يَقَعِ التَّكْوِينُ مَا خُلِقَتْ / شَمْسٌ وَلاَ قَمَرٌ إِلَيْكَ مُسْتَنَـــدِي

_Lawlāka lam yaqa‘i al-takwīnu mā khuliqat / Shamsun wa-lā qamarun ilayka mustanadī_

Were it not for you, the universe would not have come into being; neither sun nor moon would have been created; to you is my reliance.
