Harful Baa ·
From Ad-Dawaawiinu s-Sitta · الدواوين الست by Sheikh Ibrahim Nyass
Mā aq-dara Allāha an yu‘-ṭiya bi-lā sababin
Mā shā’ahu dūna kaydin lā wa-lā naṣabi
How Capable is Allah to give without any cause, whatever He wills, without scheme or exhaustion.
Yu‘-ṭī wa-yam-na‘u lam yus-’al wa-laysa lahu
Mu‘ānidun jalla ‘an shir-kin wa-’an ‘aqibi
He gives and He withholds—He is not questioned, and He has no opponent; Exalted is He above partners or progeny.
Yā laytahu ṣabba wab-lan min ‘aṭā-hu ‘alā
Dhā al-‘abdi Bar-hāma ḥattā yan-qaḍī kurabī
Oh, if only He would pour a drenching rain of His gifts upon this servant, Barham (Ibrahim), until my distress is ended.
Yā mālika al-nāsi yā mawlāya yā ṣamadan
Hab lī-n-kishāfa kurūbī wa-n-qiḍā khababī
O King of Mankind! O my Master! O Eternal Refuge! Grant me the uncovering of my griefs and the end of my agitation.
Anta al-ilāhu wa-anta al-ḥaqqu anta ghiyā-
thī a‘-ṭinī rāḥatī wal-tak-finī ta‘abī
You are the God, You are the Truth, You are my Rescue; give me my rest and suffice me against my weariness.
Wa-kun naṣīrī wa-kun ḥiṣnī al-qawiyyi wa-kafā
Mawla al-bariyyati fī al-‘ādāti wal-kurabi
Be my Helper and be my strong Fortress; sufficient is the Master of creation in times of ease and distress.
Wa-ṣalli rabbi ‘alā Ṭāhā al-mushaffa‘i yā
Mawlāya wal-ṣaḥ-bi thumma al-āli thumma abī
O my Lord! Bless Taha, the Intercessor, and the companions, the family, and my father.
Wa-salliman rabbanā wal-tu‘-ṭi kātibahu
Bar-hāma mā rāma ḥīnan dūnamā sababi
And grant peace, our Lord, and give the writer of these words, Barham, what he desires, in an instant—without any cause.
