Harful Haa ·
From Ad-Dawaawiinu s-Sitta · الدواوين الست by Sheikh Ibrahim Nyass
Ḥibā’u rasūli-llāhi amma khibā’ī
fa-baḥrī malāhu-l hāshimiyyu wa-inā’ī
The gift of the Messenger of Allah has reached my tent; the Hashemite has filled my sea and my vessel.
Ḥurūbu-l ʿidā qad raddahā wa kafāhumu
fa-bā’ū bi-ghayẓin ḥāsirīna warā’ī
He repelled the wars of the enemies and sufficed against them; they returned in rage, disappointed, behind me.
Ḥarāmun ʿalā rāʿī-l ḥimā mithla Aḥmadin
yaḍillu ʿiqālun ʿanhu wasṭa ʿarā’ī
It is impossible for a guardian of the sanctuary like Ahmad that even a camel-tether should be lost from him in the midst of a wasteland.
Ḥamānī wa aʿlānī wa ajzala naylahu
wa ānasanī idh ṣadda ahlu qilā’ī
He protected me, elevated me, and bestowed his gifts abundantly; he comforted me when the people of hatred turned away.
Ḥafāwatuhu ta’bā-ṭ ṭumūḥa li-ghayrihi
fa-qāṣiduhu yuzrī muwayha iḍā’ī
His hospitality makes one refuse to aspire toward anyone else; for one who seeks him looks down upon the meager waters of others.
Ḥabānī murādī wa-s sakhā’u sajiyyatun
li-Ṭāhā-l imāmi-l hāshimiyyi munā’ī
He granted me my desire, for generosity is the innate nature of Taha, the Hashemite Imam, my ultimate wish.
Wa innī muḥibbun shāʿirun khādimun lahu
kafānī shu’ūnī wa huwa zāda ʿaṭā’ī
Indeed I am a lover, a poet, and a servant to him; he has sufficed for all my affairs and increased my provision.
Lahu kullu waqtin mā baqītu maḥabbatan
madā’iḥu tubdī li-l amīni walā’ī
For him, at all times as long as I remain in love, are praises that manifest my loyalty to the Trustworthy one.
Tadhakkuruhu shughlī wa unsī wa khidmatī
wa dhikru-l muqaffā fī-s siqāmi dawā’ī
Remembering him is my occupation, my intimacy, and my service; and the mention of the Final Prophet is my medicine in sickness.
Wa zādī wa markūbī wa sayfī wa shayẓamī
wa jayshī wa dirʿī lam ubal bi-ʿidā’ī
He is my provision, my mount, my sword, and my swift steed; my army and my shield, I care not for any enmity against me.
Fa-man rāsha naḥwī fa-l amīnu bi-dawrihi
yarīshu lahu falyundharan bi-wabā’ī
Whoever aims an arrow at me, the Trustworthy one in turn aims at him—so let him be warned of a plague.
Wa dhikrī ḥunaynan baʿda badrin wa khandaqin
wa uḥudin wa fatḥin lā yuqillu rajā’ī
My mention of Hunayn after Badr, Khandaq, Uhud, and the Conquest does not diminish my hope.
Yaqīnī yaqīnan muṣṭafā-l kawni idh ṣafā
widādī lahu idh fīhi ʿaynu baqā’ī
I am certain of the Chosen of the universe, as my affection for him became pure; for in him is the very essence of my remaining.
Fanītu bihi baʿda-l baqā’i fa-yastawī
baqā’ī bi-Ṭāhā-l hāshimī wa fanā’ī
I was annihilated in him after remaining, so my remaining through Taha the Hashemite and my annihilation have become equal.
Fa-in dahisha-l aqṭābu yawman li-mashrabin
aqudhum li-ṣaḥwin bi-shtidādi ruwā’ī
If the spiritual poles (Aqtab) are ever dazed by a spiritual drink, I lead them toward sobriety with the strength of my clarity.
Fa-ashrabu min ṣaḥwi-l maḥabbati sāqiyan
fa-lā-s sukru yulhī bal udīmu saqā’ī
I drink from the sobriety of love while acting as the cupbearer; intoxication does not distract me, rather I continue my watering.
Bi-yumni-n nabiyyi-l hāshimiyyi-l ladhī matā
tanaffasa fī qalbī-stabāna ḍiyā’ī
By the blessing of the Hashemite Prophet, who—whenever he breathes within my heart—my light becomes manifest.
Afāḍa ilayya minhu ḥaqqan wa innahu
afāḍa li-ghayrī min fuyūḍi ḥibā’ī
He truly overflowed upon me from himself, and indeed he overflowed to others from the abundance of the gifts he gave me.
ʿAlayhi ṣalātu-llāhi thumma salāmuhu
wa ālin wa aṣḥābin buḥūri nadā’ī
Upon him be the blessings of Allah and then His peace, and upon the Family and Companions, the oceans of calling.
