Harful Qaaf ·
From Ad-Dawaawiinu s-Sitta · الدواوين الست by Sheikh Ibrahim Nyass
Qadi-stawjaba-sh shanāra wa-l ʿāra wa-l maqta
fatan rāma faṣla-l waṣli aw ḥāwala-l batta
He has surely deserved ignominy, shame, and detestation—the youth who sought to sever the spiritual union or attempted its cutting.
Fa-inniya man ahwā wa ḥaqqi ṣifātihi
bi-raghmi ḥasūdin aw munāwin lanā batta
For I am the one I love, by the truth of his attributes, despite every envious one or opponent who has completely cut us off.
Qad aḥbabtuhu ḥattā arānī kuntuhu
wa rabbī lam yakhluq makānan walā waqta
I loved him until he showed me that I was him, while my Lord had not yet created place or time.
Fa-jāwartu Ṭāhā Aḥmada-l badra nāṣirī
wa ḥāwarahu shiʿrī wa jāwaranī bayta
So I neighbored Taha Ahmad, the full moon, my helper; my poetry conversed with him and he neighbored me in my house.
Badā lī muḥayyāhu ḥabānī wiṣālahu
wa man nāla sirra-l muṣṭafā akthara-ṣ ṣamta
His countenance appeared to me and he gifted me his union; and whoever attains the secret of the Chosen one increases in silence.
Wa inniya mawṣūlun wa Aḥmadu ʿā’idun
ilayya qubayla-l kawni wa-l kawnu mā shatta
And I am connected, and Ahmad is returning to me since before the universe, while the universe was not yet dispersed.
ʿAlayhi ṣalātu-llāhi thumma salāmuhu
wa ālin wa ṣaḥbin ʿammarū-l waqta wa-l bayta
Upon him be the blessings of Allah and then His peace, and upon the Family and Companions who filled the time and the House.
