**1.** تَرَانِي سَمِيرَ النَّجْمِ بِاللَّيْــلِ حَافِظَـــا / وِدَادَ الْمُقَفَّــــــى لِلْعُهُــــودِ مُحَافِظَــا

_Tarānī samīra-n najmi bi-l layli ḥāfiẓā / widāda-l muqaffā li-l ʿuhūdi muḥāfiẓā_

You see me as the nocturnal companion of the stars at night, preserving the love of the Final Prophet and keeping the covenants.

**2.** عَلَى الْخَدِّ دَمْعِي يَرْجُفُ الْقَلْبُ مَوْهِنًا / أُنَاشِـــــدُ أَشْعَــــــارَ الْمَحَبَّــةِ لاَفِظَــا

_ʿAlā-l khaddi damʿī yarjufu-l qalbu mawninan / unāshidu ashʿāra-l maḥabbati lāfiẓā_

Upon my cheek are my tears while my heart trembles in the late night; I chant the poems of love, uttering them aloud.

**3.** تَرَى الشِّيبَ أَمْثَالِي سُجُودًا قَدْ أَخْلَصُوا / لَدَى الذِّكْرِ تُلْفِــــي الْكُلَّ لِلذِّكْرِ حَافِظَــا

_Tarā-sh shība amthālī sujūdan qad akhlaṣū / ladā-dh dhikri tulfī-l kulla li-dh dhikri ḥāfiẓā_

You see gray-haired men like me in prostration, having reached sincerity; at the time of remembrance, you find everyone preserving the Remembrance.

**4.** وَحَسْبِيَ مَدْحُ الْمُنْحَمِنَّا وَذِكْــــرُهُ / فَلَمْ أَلْتَفِتْ لِلْغَيْرِ دَهْــــرًا مُلاَحِظَــا

_Wa ḥasbiya madḥu-l munḥaminnā wa dhikruhu / falam altafit li-l ghayri dahran mulāḥiẓā_

The praise of the Bestower and his mention are sufficient for me, for I have never turned to notice anyone else throughout time.

**5.** شَفِيعَ الْوَرَى لَيْثَ الْعُرُوبَــةِ مَرْكَــزًا / لِشَرْعِ إِلَــهِ الْعَرْشِ لِلْخَلْقِ وَاعِظَــــا

_Shafīʿa-l warā laytha-l ʿurūbati markazan / li-sharʿi ilāhi-l ʿarshi li-l khalqi wāʿiẓā_

The intercessor of creation, the lion of the Arabs, the center for the law of the God of the Throne, and an admonisher for all creation.

**6.** عَلَيْــــكَ صَــــلاَةُ اللّٰهِ ثُـــمَّ سَلاَمُــهُ / وَرُحْتُ إِلَيْكَ مِثْلَ مَنْ رَاحَ قَارِظَا

_ʿAlayka ṣalātu-llāhi thumma salāmuhu / wa ruḥtu ilayka mithla man rāḥa qāriẓā_

Upon you be the blessings of Allah and then His peace; I have come to you like one who has gone forth praising and eulogizing.

**7.** عَلَيْـــــكَ صَــــلاَةُ اللّٰهِ ثُـــمَّ سَلاَمُــهُ / وَآلٍ وَصَحْبٍ عَنْكَ لاَقَوْا مَوَاعِظَا

_ʿAlayka ṣalātu-llāhi thumma salāmuhu / wa ālin wa ṣaḥbin ʿanka lāqaw mawāʿiẓā_

Upon you be the blessings of Allah and then His peace, and upon the Family and Companions who received admonitions from you.
