Harful Khaa ·

From Ad-Dawaawiinu s-Sitta · الدواوين الست by Sheikh Ibrahim Nyass

Khalā-llāha lā arjū siwāka wa-law khuṣiṣ
li-anniya makhṣūṣun wa anta-l ladhī khaṣaṣ

Except for Allah, I hope in none but you, even if I were singled out; for I am specially designated, and you are the one who designated.

Fa-mā fī siwā rabbi-l bariyyati maṭmaʿun
wa anta ʿalā kulli-l barāyā-l ladhī ḥaraṣ

There is no object of desire in other than the Lord of creation; and you are the one who has shown the most care for all of mankind.

Fa-Aḥmadu bābu-llāhi wa-l qaṣdu naḥwahu
wa ballaghanā-t tanzīla mā zāda mā naqaṣ

For Ahmad is the door to Allah and the goal is toward him; and he conveyed the Revelation to us, neither increasing nor decreasing it.

He did not sleep until the religion came to us complete; and to Allah belongs praise, both general and specific.

Li-rabbī ʿalayhi-l ḥamdu rabbī wa innahu
lahu-l ḥamdu fī hādī-l bariyyati ḥīna khaṣ

To my Lord be praise for him—my Lord—and indeed, to Him belongs praise regarding the Guide of creation when He specifically chose him.

Lahu-l ḥamdu fī-l ūlā wa-l ukhrā wa innahu
lahu-l ḥamdu fī kulli-sh shu’ūni wa fī-l qaṣaṣ

To Him belongs praise in the first life and the last, and indeed, to Him belongs praise in all affairs and in the stories.

Tanawwartu asrāra-t tajallī bi-ghaybihi
wa lastu ka-sakrāna tagharrada aw raqaṣ

I was enlightened by the secrets of Divine Manifestation through his unseen; and I am not like a drunkard who chirps or dances.

Wa lam yaku fī-l imkāni abdaʿa minka yā
Muḥammadu khayra-n nāsi man nūruhu khalaṣ

There was never in the realm of possibility anyone more wonderful than you, O Muhammad, the best of people, whose light is pure.

ʿAlayhi ṣalātu-llāhi thumma salāmuhu
taqīnī jamīʿa-sh sharri wa-s suqmi wa-l baraṣ

Upon him be the blessings of Allah and then His peace; may they protect me from all evil, sickness, and vitiligo.

ʿAlayhi maʿa-l āli-l kirāmi wa ṣaḥbihi
ṣalātun wa taslīmun ʿumūman wa mā khaṣaṣ

Upon him, along with the noble Family and his Companions, be blessings and peace, generally and specifically.
