**1.** تَـــرَاءَى هِلاَلٌ أَوْ جَمَـــالٌ فَـأُبْـهَـتُ / مَتَى لاَحَ وَجْهُ الْهَاشِمِيِّ وَأَصْمُتُ

_Tarā’ā hilālun aw jamālun fa-ubhata / matā lāḥa wajhu-l hāshimiyyi wa aṣmuta_

A crescent appeared, or rather a beauty, so I am dazzled; whenever the face of the Hashemite shines, I fall silent.

**2.** تَبَــدَّى فَأَهْــلاً ثُــمَّ سَهْلاً وَمَرْحَبًا / بِوَجْــهٍ بِــهِ عَاشَ الْبَرَايَا وَقُوِّتُوا

_Tabad-dā fa-ahlan thumma sahlan wa marḥaban / bi-wajhin bihi ʿāsha-l barāyā wa qūtitū_

He appeared, so welcome, ease, and greetings to a face by which all beings lived and were sustained.

**3.** مُحَيًّا كَبَدْرِ التِّمِّ وَالشَّمْسِ فَاسْجُدُوا / لِخَالِقِهِ مَـــــرَّ الْجَدِيدَيْــنِ وَاقْنُتُــوا

_Muḥayyan ka-badri-t timmi wa-sh shamsi fa-sjudū / li-khāliqihi marra-l jadīdayni wa-qnutū_

A countenance like the full moon and the sun; so prostrate to its Creator throughout the days and nights and be devout.

**4.** فَعُمْرِيَ مَا شَاهَدْتُ شِبْـــهَ جَمَالِــهِ / فَلِي الْمَدْحُ وَالتَّنْزِيهُ عُمْرِي مُؤَقَّتُ

_Fa-ʿumriya mā shāhadtu shibha jamālihi / fa-liya-l madḥu wa-t tanzīhu ʿumrī mu’aqqatu_

In all my life, I have never witnessed the like of his beauty; so for me is praise and glorification as long as my time is measured.

**5.** لَقَدْ لاَحَ هَـــذَا الْوَجْهُ وَالْكَوْنُ كُلُّــهُ / ظَلاَمٌ وَقَحْطٌ كُلُّ ذَا الْكَوْنِ مُسْنِتُ

_Laqad lāḥa hadhā-l wajhu wa-l kawnu kulluhu / ẓalāmun wa qaḥṭun kullu dhā-l kawnu musnitu_

Indeed, this face shone while the entire universe was in darkness and famine—the whole world was barren.

**6.** فَعَمَّ الْـهُـدَى وَالْخَيْرُ وَالْفَيْضُ وَالْجَدَا / وَقَدْ شَاعَ ذِكْرُ اللّٰهِ وَالْكُفْرُ يُبْهَــتُ

_Fa-ʿamma-l hudā wa-l khayru wa-l fayḍu wa-l jadā / wa qad shāʿa dhikru-llāhi wa-l kufru yubhata_

Then guidance, goodness, overflow, and generosity spread; the remembrance of Allah became widespread while disbelief was confounded.

**7.** هَنِيئًــا لَنَـــا أَتْبَاعَ أَحْمَـــدَ قَدْ أَتَى / لَنَا خَيْرُ دَاعٍ لِلْأَسَاطِيرِ مُسْكِـــتُ

_Hanī’an lanā atbāʿa Aḥmada qad atā / lanā khayru dāʿin li-l asāṭīri muskitu_

Congratulations to us, the followers of Ahmad; for there has come to us the best caller, who silences all myths.

**8.** عَلَيْـــهِ صَـــلاَةُ اللّٰهِ ثُـــمَّ سَلاَمُــهُ / فَجَيْشُ هُمُومِي بِالْحَبِيبِ مُشَتَّــتُ

_ʿAlayka ṣalātu-llāhi thumma salāmuhu / fa-jayshu humūmī bi-l ḥabībi mushattatu_

Upon you be the blessings of Allah and then His peace; for the army of my worries is scattered by the Beloved.

**9.** عَلَيْــهِ صَـــلاَةُ اللّٰهِ ثُـــمَّ سَلاَمُــهُ / وَأَدْعُو لِدِينِ الْهَاشِمِيِّ وَأَثْبُــتُ

_ʿAlayka ṣalātu-llāhi thumma salāmuhu / wa adʿū li-dīni-l hāshimiyyi wa athbutu_

Upon you be the blessings of Allah and then His peace; as I call to the religion of the Hashemite and remain firm.

**10.** عَلَيْـــــــهِ صَـــــلاَةُ اللّٰهِ ثُـــمَّ سَلاَمُــهُ / فَلَسْتُ أَرَى ضِدًّا مَدَى الدَّهْرِ يُشْمِتُ

_ʿAlayka ṣalātu-llāhi thumma salāmuhu / fa-lastu arā ḍiddan madā-d dahri yushmitu_

Upon you be the blessings of Allah and then His peace; for I see no adversary throughout time who can gloat.

**11.** عَلَيْــــــهِ صَــــلاَةُ اللّٰهِ ثُـــمَّ سَلاَمُــهُ / أُرَى الدَّهْرَ عَبْدًا خَاشِعًا لَكَ يَخْبُتُ

_ʿAlayka ṣalātu-llāhi thumma salāmuhu / urā-d dahra ʿabdan khāshiʿan laka yakhbutu_

Upon you be the blessings of Allah and then His peace; I am seen for all time as a humble servant, submissive to you.

**12.** عَلَيْــــهِ صَــلاَةُ اللّٰهِ ثُـــمَّ سَلاَمُــهُ / وَمِنْ وَالِدِي قَدْ كَانَ لِلْخَيْرِ يَثْبُتُ

_ʿAlayka ṣalātu-llāhi thumma salāmuhu / wa min wālidī qad kāna li-l khayri yathbutu_

Upon you be the blessings of Allah and then His peace; and from my father, who was ever-firm in goodness.

**13.** عَلَيْــــــهِ صَــــلاَةُ اللّٰهِ ثُــــمَّ سَلاَمُـــهُ / وَغَرْسُ أَبِي فِي صَحْبِهِ الدَّهْرَ يَنْبُتُ

_ʿAlayka ṣalātu-llāhi thumma salāmuhu / wa gharsu abī fī ṣaḥbihi-d dahra yanbutu_

Upon you be the blessings of Allah and then His peace; and my father’s planting among his companions continues to grow for all time.

**14.** عَلَيْــــــهِ صَــــلاَةُ اللّٰهِ ثُــــمَّ سَلاَمُـــهُ / وَغَرْسُ أَبِي فِي صَحْبِهِ الدَّهْرَ يَنْبُتُ

_ʿAlayka ṣalātu-llāhi thumma salāmuhu / wa gharsu abī fī ṣaḥbihi-d dahra yanbutu_

Upon you be the blessings of Allah and then His peace; and my father’s planting among his companions continues to grow for all time.

**15.** عَلَيْـــــهِ صَــــلاَةُ اللّٰهِ ثُـــمَّ سَلاَمُــــهُ / وَآلٍ وَصَحْبٍ صَـيَّـرُوا الْكُفْرَ يَـبْـهَتُ

_ʿAlayka ṣalātu-llāhi thumma salāmuhu / wa ālin wa ṣaḥbin ṣay-yarū-l kufra yabhata_

Upon you be the blessings of Allah and then His peace; and upon the Family and Companions, who made disbelief fade into confusion.
