Qasida Muhammadiya (Arabic: قصيدة محمدية) is a poem written by the eminent poet Imam al-Busiri, author of the famous Qasida Burda. It is a short poem, consisting of 16 couplets in which each line begins with the blessed name of Muhammad ﷺ.

## Opening verses

**1.** مُحَمَّدٌ أَشْرَفُ الْأَعْرَابِ وَالْعَجَمِ / مُحَمَّدٌ خَيْرُ مَنْ يَمْشِي عَلَى قَدَمِ

_Muḥammadun ashrafu l-aʿrābi wa l-ʿajami / Muḥammadun khayru man yamshī ʿalā qadami_

Muhammad - noblest of the Arabs and the non-Arabs, Muhammad - best of all those who walk upon two feet

**2.** مُحَمَّدٌ بَاسِطُ الْمَعْرُوفِ جَامِعُهُ / مُحَمَّدٌ صَاحِبُ الْإِحْسَانِ وَالْكَرَمِ

_Muḥammadun bāsiṭu l-maʿrūfi jāmiʿuhu / Muḥammadun ṣāḥibu l-iḥsāni wa l-karami_

Muhammad - most expansive giver of all good things, Muhammad - the master of excellence and generosity
